I live in Germany and one of my favorite Christmas markets is in Esslingen. It's a large medieval Christmas market, with crafts that date back centuries, and their Flammkuchen (like what you ate) is made in a traditional wood burning oven. There's a hand pumped small wood ferris wheel for children. I got an old witch's broom there, made the traditional way with sticks. As for the garlic grater, you can find them made of clear glass in numerous antique stores here in Germany. I have one from the 1800s. But you can also use the grater for ginger and various other things. There's a tiny village Christmas market by our village, and they were only open one weekend this month - they actually had steamed mussels and oysters! I never saw that at any other Christmas market. Stephanie's German pronunciation is pretty good.
Adore this Christmas market! So fun to see Philip in a place he obviously know so well. EVERYTHING look either delicious or pretty. So much eye candy, and literal candy. Thank you so much for shairng.
Absolutely adored everything about this! My Oma was from Germany and everything reminded me of her. We even had lebkuchen cookies last night from a local German bakery. Merry Advent to you all and Happy Birthday to Philip's mother.
What a lovely time we had as you took us on your journey through that famous market! Although I'm of English/Irish background, we always have Gingerbread cookies, marzipan and potato cakes! Thank you so much for bringing all these wonderful Christmassy treats to us all! Happy Birthday Phillip's Mom!

I absolutely fell in love with the city and sadly I have not been able to return (yet), but I am so grateful that I got to experience it again through your video. ❤️
Ah! College choir tour! One of those magical things that becomes a brick... or two in who you are! It’s so nice to see that someone else has those kinds of wonderful memories and shares that idea of the importance of singing in a choir for so many reasons!

Omg that looks amazing, definitely want to visit there. I too love those long sweets Philip, think a could spend a small fortune in that market, such a quaint place ❤
An absolute joy to be guided through the Aachener Christmas market. If I visited in person I’d be like a broken record, having memorized only one line in German with “Ich hätte gerne diese Weihnachtskugel aus Glas“ which translated is more or less “I’ll have this glass Christmas ornament please.” I can never resist a beautifully done glass ornament. I think I’d end up with a couple of boxloads to carry home. PS: Stephanie, keep a pair of warm gloves in your car and in a suitcase or overnight bag you normally travel with to avoid future frozen digits and winter handshakes.
You should one day go to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, it's a beautiful city and the Christmas store Käthe Wolfart is from there or to Seiffen in Saxony, that's also Christmas Wonderland ☺️
