My first time watching this interview, and I can see they are uncomfortable with it , they are proper gentle London boys as I am I think they have a north London accent, we don’t produce talent like these anymore, such a shame. I named my daughter after a song of there’s . Rip mark thank you for the spirit.

Mark Hollis and Talk Talk where never given the credit their talent and progressive / forward thinking / vision deserved. Mark Hollis was an absolute genius in my estimation; and a poetic wordsmith in his lyrics and songwriting. Listening today as much as yesterday his voice and their music still thrills my soul. You can't help yourself by not being entranced by listening to " I don't believe in you ". Mark is still; and will always be very much missed; and very much loved also. Rip fella ! xo

A deeply thoughtful, fully engaged Mark Hollis. A very rare exchange about his brother Ed, who would become hopelessly addicted to heroin & die a few years later. Mark became far more reticent to talk to the music press in later years & only wanted to make his music....& what a fine body of work he left. Much missed!

I have been a fan of this band for many years. Some of their tracks are sonically and musically brilliant. Listen to "Give it Up" on a great sound system and keep your ears tuned to the guitarist. Powerful stuff. Listen to the rhythm track of "Life's What You Make It". Get stoned and listen to "Desire" or "Living in Another World".. this is a band whose music sounds as relevant in a world reeling from a pandemic and economic chaos as it did in the '80s and '90s.

This interview demonstrates the intelligence and leadership of Mark Hollis as, at a very young age, he demonstrates a clear vision of what he wants his band to do as opposed to lesser bands that simply jumped on the MTV bandwagon and did well because they looked pretty. Sadly, you rarely hear Talk mention when radio or TV shows put on 1980s retrospective shows. While I admire the longevity of bands like Duran Duran they were never in the same League as Talk Talk. Gwen Stefani did a great cover of "It's my life" probably their greatest commercial success. However, if you listen to the track "Time is Time", from "The colour of Spring£ you will recognise the musical genius of Mark Hollis; legendary vocalist and songwriter. RIP.
