This is so rare. It’s exactly how I remember them at the Genesis reunion gig in 1982 where they got bottled. Their stage clothes set the mood for the crowd so they didn’t have a chance in that respect. I started out hostile like everyone else then quickly realised these guys could really play. I purchased their album a few months later which reminded me how good they were. I was lucky to see them then but I wish I could time travel back to a gig promoting The Colour of Spring. What an eternal genius Mark Hollis will always be.
Wow ♥️ just how I remember seeing them first ,at royal court Liverpool as support to Duran Duran ,clean cut ,smooth and totally awesome sound ,best band in the world 🌍 R I P mark Hollis ♥️
The presenters were proper smartarses and tried to belittle the band. Unluckily for them, the band were a bit too quick witted for them. Well done Mark et al
Great song and live performance from 1982 from talk talk, Mark hollis has a distinctive voice and brilliant singer and the rest of the band are excellent especially Paul Webb on bass guitar and Lee Harris on electronic drums one of the best bands of the 1980s
@@Katehowe3010 I agree here. Initially I thought ther first album would be their last. But there were good beginnings in that album. ' Spirit of Eden'-88 and Colour of Spring -86 are my favourites. But it's really nice to be talking about albums again since everone seems to be talking about just single tracks.. (When did we devolve?)

Apparently this went down a storm in Sweden, especially with Bee keepers in Stockholm.. who found their bees liked the base line.. It increased honey production by 12%.

Mark Hollis had such a funny humor. An interviewer told him once that he seemed more comfortable with this interview. Mark Hollis said to him, "maybe it's the chair" so funny
They didn't play in Poland then, and for me leaving the Iron Gate was impossible then. I was 20 years old then :-) It's one of the few things I also regret :-)

"You're not supposed to advertise on Swedish television" "OK, isn't called Mirrorman" Such incredible quick wit, amazing!
So Beatles sense of humor! Go ask Harry! Great tune. ❤it isn’t called Mirror Man!
A band that got better and better until it was impossible to get any better
Ey! Great comment! Greetings from Argentina.
Hi I recommend a song called 'Where I Come From' By Robert Nix
Hmmm, that's possibly the best explanation i've ever heard. Thanks for that !

Quite extraordinary.
That voice was amazing since the begining. Mark Hollis was extraordinary.
No one could ever copy that voice!
Yes! I love his voice.
No one 😭
Beautiful :,)

"Okay, isn't called Mirror Man," great answer! Hope those presenters never forget their oafishness.

very true. one of the bottles hit the bass strings!
we woke up in amsterdam on the first morning of our honeymoon to listen to this in the hotel, it blew our minds, we have been huge fans ever since.

Great song, great band, great performance! Apologises from Sweden for the presenters on this show which was called "Måndagsbörsen".
Vete tusan ändå. Rätt kul och absurt.
why are they speaking with posh english accents?

Så jävla dålig intervju! Är det Jonas Hallberg? Nä
Wow what a unique brilliant voice
This is one of the most bizarre interviews I've ever seen hahaha
Same here! I wasn't sure what I was watching, lol.
Unbelievable, like a velvet voice,,, RIP,,,, still listen from 2022
A great song, a great live performance and one of the greatest bands ever.
Absolutely terrific voice and awesome music. 😍😍

Achingly beautiful vocals from the creator of post rock.....You wouldn't give tuppence for skinny little Mark Hollis.......Until you hear him sing.

It's hard to relate the admittedly good synth pop here to the glorious butterfly they transformed into!
Great!
Best band of the 80s....Ask Harry...
There was Depeche before them and probably they had seen the Gahan's awkward interview previously.
DM were right before them on this very show? Actually, it wrenches my gut to see them all so rude. But if there's a reason for it'd explain.

The interview is sooo strange. And I know Swedish:)
Mark hated the commercialism of this period. Silly white suits & early morning flights to promote singles on Europop shows with vacuous presenters.
