  • As I said sometime before, Russian cartoons (North Korean somehow, also) were a unique phenomenon in terms of trying to instill into children good, kind and worthy ideas, which were way way ahead their age-normal ability to understand. And the thing was, that even though a child may not comprehend the message in full, that idea would still leave some trace and as the child grows up, it sometimes, at one moment, or another, may remember that message and re-think it as it grows. And, if stars are lucky, perhaps embody someday... Today it is a song from an opera by Sergei Banevich: "The story of Kai and Gerda", based on one of Hans Andersen's fairy-tales (The Snow Queen). The song goes with a very uplifting name: "The saddest thing in the world" and is sung by a lamplighter, who in that opera plays a role of a storyteller.
I, somehow, have a gut feeling of being on a brink of a lengthy rest in terms of my music-recording pursuits. So let's consider this one to be a goodbye. For some time at least. What saddens me a bit is the fact that in this one I couldn't reach even a 5 per cent threshold of the desired expressiveness. The old sample-based synth I play on simply cannot offer more and even that was wrung out with considerable pain.
    Adieu.

Great arrangement! Do you mind sharing the score? I would love to sing this piece, but the accompaniment is not available anywhere... Many thanks in any case.

Sure. Just pls keep in mind that it is a hand-written scribble, so it might be a bit difficult to read. I will upload it later today and post a link here.

I dont understand why your cotents have korean subtitles and songs eventhough you are not a korean ,I guess.
Anyway, I really love your version of 고향의 봄 . I downloaded it to my cellphone and listened regularly. Recently I am learning theory of harmony, inspired by you. I hope you to be more famous.

@@제훈임-w9f I lived in Seoul for 3 years, in 사당동 and actually all those songs, played on Yamaha were recorded there. :) I was going to return to Korea, but that damn virus messed up everything. You know, Koreans are very unique people in the sense that you people really love music. That is why I try to have all the words translated into Korean. Because I know that Koreans feel music very well.
