amazing as always! I wanted to ask have you experienced any trouble with weight training and piano playing. I get pain from playing piano, I think it is because I didn't used to warm up when playing and I used to do boxing and attend the gym regularly when I was a teenager. Can you perhaps give some advice in relation to this. I want to do bodybuilding again but Im scared it might impact my hands. Any advice would be incredibly grateful.

Thank you Muhammad! I can tell you what. In general, talks that the gym and weight training are bad for playing any instrument are done by people, who have absolutely no idea what any sort of physical exercises are about. Apart from being a pianist I am a certified fitness coach and I can tell you with all the due responsibility - weight training does nothing bad to your piano playing! On the contrary, it does a lot of good! Your hands never get tired, no matter, how difficult a piece is, or how long you play; your forte has enough power and yet your pianissimo remains gentle. So by all means, please do gym! Do boxing, if you want. Just be careful. In a way, playing an instrument is an aerobic low-intensity physical exercise and you should treat it correspondingly. What I mean is you should warm up. Don't start playing at maximum speed the most difficult pieces right away, when your hands are cold. Do a bit of hand muscles self-massage, start at a slower tempo and gradually increase it. There is only one way the gym can be bad for your piano playing. I mean if you get some hand injury during boxing, or some other training. In that case gym will play a bad role. But it won't be just for the piano playing. Getting injury is bad in general, so just avoid getting injured and you will be fine. One more thing you should keep in mind. If you train your forearm muscles and have just had a good training session, you may expect that the next day you will have some moderate muscle pain, which may make you feel a bit uncomfortable, while playing. This is quite normal, just give your muscles rest, don't play something too hard for one day and you will be fine. It is quite a general thing. Our muscles get trained and improve not when we are working out (while working out we actually give our muscles micro injuries), but when we are resting after the workout, giving our body a chance to do what is called "physical supercompensation". The same holds true for any muscle groups. If, say, your leg muscles are really tired after a good session of a weight training, it will be a bad idea to start running a marathon, without giving your legs rest.
      So just to summarize:
      1. Weight training is great for health, it is great for your piano playing also. IT will help you a lot.
      2. People, who say the opposite have never tried lifting anything heavier than a pack of potato chips.
      3. Be careful, warm up well both before weights and before practicing, as piano playing as an exercise also.
      4. Avoid injuries both at the gym and at the piano.
      5. Give your hands a day off, if you have trained forearms and the next day you feel that playing the piano is hard.

Wow! Amazing performance! How did you record the violin? It has a beautiful reverb and sounds like the microphone is perfectly placed but I couldn’t see a microphone or wire going to the violin. 👏🏻👏🏻

Thank you a lot Joe, but the sound of violin is simply recorded by an ordinary cellphone. The rest is sound engineering, which I did in order to bring the violin up :) Since it is a rehearsal, the sound quality wasn't of the biggest concern. Hopefully some time soon we will record the violin part not by means of the phone, but using real good mikes.
I am very lucky I have such a great violinist as a friend.

Произведение довольно сложное. В наш оркестр бы такую лидер-скрипку и такого пианиста.. Приезжают китайцы, играют на таком уровне, а наши вроде и талантливые люди, но на концертах будто ‘выключаются’ куда-то не туда..
