weird choice to choose the psp version for the ps5. The reason why there are no PS3 games in the PS5 classics catalog is that the PS3's architecture is too different from that of any other console, as it uses the CELL processor. This prevented the PS4 from being backward compatible with PS3 games, unlike the Xbox One, which was "backward compatible" with Xbox 360 games. That's why Tekken 6 on the PS5 is the PSP version, not the PS3 version.
@@vcdecide Good point. Porting the games wouldn't be an issue, but If I were Namco, I don't wanna go through the trouble of "porting" a 20 something year old PS2/PSP/PS3 game to a new console (game that people barely play anymore)
All PS1, PSP and PS2 games in the PS5 (and PS4) classics catalog are emulated. As explained before, the PS3 uses a very different and complicated architecture, so much so that even some powerful PCs struggle to run all games perfectly, the PS5 (and PS4) actually has PS3 games but only via cloud streaming that use real PS3 hardware, they recently added the Resistance trilogy to the catalog for example, the bad side of this is that countries like Brazil where cloud streaming is not available available will not have access to the game. Putting the PSP version in the catalog instead of the PS3 version at least makes the game accessible to all audiences as it runs natively on the hardware.
@@MoonSarito Funny Sony won't put PS3 emulation on the PS5 due to its complex hardware yet RPCS3 runs on PC's that are much less powerful than the PS5.
@@Mr.Atari2600 Although RPCS3 runs on PCs with less power than the PS5, the games run on RPCS3 are quite inaccurate compared to the real PS3, with many glitches and inaccuracies... Obviously, the vast majority of people using RPCS3 won't notice the inaccuracies, especially since most of these people haven't played on a PS3 enough to notice them.Another point to consider is that emulation puts a lot of strain on the hardware, so emulating a hardware as complex as the PS3 on a PS5 could shorten the PS5's lifespan in the long run, or even in the medium and short term.
@@vcdecide Does emulation really put that much strain on the hardware? Interesting that there's not "Network" option on PS5 version, possibly the game is modified internally; think like hacked ISO.
