Honestly a great wallet for travelling. Tsa does not complain or ask what it is, especially in less lawful countries like in south america (and carrying seed phrase is just too risky imo), and it is the only wallet I know that is actually waterproof. Definitely going to buy
I travel internationally for work and airport screeners in many countries have you remove shoes, belts, metals, jewelry, etc and look thoroughly at everything....I'm talking about you India! I'm curious as to how this ring would appear under Xray with all its internal components and if it will stand out from the way normal rings appear under Xray.
@@billydanzz I get your point, but I am 93% sure they are not zooming the scan on such small objects, that look so regular. Still, your only better option right now is manually encrypting a seed phrase and storing it on a piece of paper. My only worry would be what happens if the tangem recovery card looses its properies after years and does not recover your crypto anymore
The biggest problem with this type of device is that it automatically makes the holder a visible target there are people in this world that would go to unthinkable measures forcing the holder to hand over valuables
@@vm3843 trust me, black ceramic ring is a very popular type of jewellery (I even have one) And especially today when samsung makes heart rate measuring rings it is really not eye catching. Still much less eyecatching than any other crypto device
@@LS-td2ts unfortunately not. I tried it several times and was unable to do it. would’ve been nice. But taking it off for a few seconds isn’t that big of a deal I guess
@@CryptoDad I feel like this is more secure. If somebody just tries to walk by and tap your ring, they can’t have access to your crypto. You could close your fist if somebody’s trying to grab it. And the only way to actually sign transactions is when you allow the ring to come off your finger and sign the transaction.
Seems pretty slick but I still think I will stick with my Trezor T via my laptop . I'm always losing my phone or cracking the screen and its just a pain . Its simple to download Trezor suite to a PC . We have all had a huge learning curve with Bitcoin and crypto so not really any excuses looking after a seed phrase .
Sure, we all have our comfort level. Being on the front lines, I have met many good, intelligent, people that have lost life changing wealth due to seed phrase mis-management (losing it, revealing it, writing it down incorrectly, etc.)
@@Moonraker11 I agree. I think maybe they tried just the ring and it looked strange so they sort of embedded it onto the card. But the wallet itself shows three black cards however you can go into the card settings and rename the wallet. The default is wallet, but you can rename it to “Ring wallet” that helps a little bit.
@@alansimon1354 I would imagine that tooling this ring and embedding all of the security chips inside it is a much more complicated and expensive process than manufacturing the cards.

Will the private key exposed to the phone during the setting up process?
No it will not
@@CryptoDad but when setting up the backup card, the private key should be in the phone, in order to copy it to the card
They need to update their graphic within the Tangem app to show a ring instead of a card…

At $160 this is extortionate, about $100 more than a set of 3 cards
