Fantastic. Worked a treat. Will see how long it stays fixed. Obvious a dry solder joint that developed and reheating has re-joined the solder. Only difference on my Dell was that the key board had 2 pieces of double sided tape under the W and R key area which required me to slide a credit type card under the key board to break the stick.
try press nd hold letter D and press power.. if its still beeps turn off laptop nd repeat.. i have done this for 2 hrs and then my laptop started doing screen test and now its working fine.. :-)
If your screen is completely dark and power+D doesn't work for you may have loose connection of the flex cable i. e, display cable that connects the screen to the mother board at either ends . Try opening the laptop and properly connect the cable
What he did is called reflow.. It solve the problem just for while.. The problem will return for sure.. The correct mode to repair definity is reballing the graphic chipset with new solder.. Good technician use this method only to see if the problem is really the chipset's solder.. If the laptop return to life like this video you should reballing the chip with a new esphere solder and resolder again in the motherboard.. After that the laptop will work for many years again
I'm sorry but this is bad info, just watch Louis rossman channel. The GPU itself is defective, due to it's flip chip design nature. The bump are dead in the chip itself ! No way to fix it. You could check my theory by heating a bad chip to 100c just for 30 seconds. It will work again for some time and this temp is low enough that it won't even melt pb free solder. The only solution is to replace the chip itself, this is what I did on my 5010 but the issue would happen again, as all these chips are defective from factory. The underfill used is too soft and the chip layout has bad spread of the temp internally resulting in temperature in a wide range of temperatures within the die area, this resulting in killing the chip even faster. The other thing you could do, which is a better solution overall is to mod the main board to use integrated graphics. There is a lot of tutorial on RUclips for this particular board. This way, you will never have a failed GPU again 👍🤣
Good instruction. I was getting the four beep code and no screen but before replacing any ram remove and reinstall each stick and try start up. Worked for me.
My DELL Inspiron N5010 got 8 beeps and black screen just yesterday. I am not sure if I am going to do a reheating just like you did, or to remove old thermal paste and apply new thermal paste on the GPU and CPU. Please share with me your thought. Thanks.

Try Solution 1, if it dont work ,try solution 2 and if even it doesnot work ,try 3. 1st Solution. 1.Unplug battery and leave the laptop without battery for 1 minute. 2.COnnect battery and before turning on the computer, press D on keyboard. 3. Now turn on computer. 4. Keep pressing D even when its beeping ,Dont leave it untill the screen turns green and Blue. 5. Now it will turn on. 2nd Solution: 1.Turn on your laptop and keep pressing F12. 2.If you get to BIOS menu with blue screen and white fonts.Your display is fine. 3.Reset the BIOS settings. 3rd Solution: 1.Connect a VGA cable to the laptop and a external monitor. 2. Turn on monitor and turn on laptop. 3. If it works fine on external monitor. You should replace your lcd screen of your laptop or seek help from your local laptop repair shop

Now same problem they serviced it some way and it last only 3 days, now they say nothing to do. It's a total loss. Now they say they can buy back full laptop for ₹2000/- Is there any way to fix it...?
Same problem here But when i connected hdmi into a tv screen ,laptop opens..but the screen on laptop doesnt turn on In that way i copied my important files. But what is the problem Is it the screen Or the vga chip Can we run laptop without vga chip using hdmi cable? Hope for a quick response
This cooling system is a piece of shit. I do BGA reballing, i replaced the chip with a new one. So far so good, i saw that there is just one screw and a phat 2 mm thermal pad, which performs awful. No proper contact with the heatsink. The actual problem is only based on the 1 screw that tightens just one side, intentionally built to burn the chip. I tried several improvisations and solutions, ended up in a 8 beep code with a new chip, after a short time. The cooler was spinning pretty high all the time. I don`t know if the chip is burnt, i measured it, the series values changed somehow, not much but they are different. The only one to blame for all this is Dell. They made this nice looking laptop to barely survive one year intensive use.
According to experts if it works at all your lucky and a reflow which is what he did on the video card sometimes lasts a week or months but it really considered temporary. If it is working BACK IT UP WHILE YOU CAN
There is no real solution until you properly modify the heatsink and assure that you have proper contact with the die of the chip. Other than that everything else is a waste of time. A thermal pad thicker than 1mm is a awful solution for chip cooling. Adding just one screw to one side is the ultimate bullshit. Dell could have done it the right way. But hey, who will buy a new laptop if this crap here works more than 2 or 3 years.
@@Derricky007 this computer is working for me 8 years so far heavy use with 3 reflows done ,i know its some kind of sorcery :D , but you are right about the shit design , the chip isnt even touching heatsink on my coputer i had to put a puddle of thermal paste just to make a contact

My Dell Laptop N4010 has same problem. I repaired, but after 40 days of the same issue. why this problem came after. I want to know.
You need reballing the chipset to repair definity the motherboard.. Reflowing the chipset like this video will just work for some weeks.
Do you have to heat to 250° C? Will a hairdryer on high do?
Thank you sooo much brother❤
