    Unlike most top ten lists, this is a non-paid, enthusiast driven compendium of banter, not to mention all the fragrant gems. Thank you.

    Loved the empty bottles at the end, I think that’s the first time I’ve seen that done for a most worn.

      I think part of the reason they're the most worn is that I was low on them and I wanted to use em up lest they go off. Rare that any of us finish a bottle nevermind two at the same time!

    loved to hear your top ten spring summer. Question: i didn't understand if l'instant in the square bottle (yes, it's horrible) is like the old or much, much worse.

    Ma liberte is such a Devine 80s perfume. The quality is just outstanding. Thanks for highlighting it.. in addition, I used to have bois ardent I thought it was absolutely beautiful, but I just couldn’t get more than 45 minutes out of it and had to sell the bottle.
    I firmly believe that you were correct if it’s possible to find an older bottle the lasting power is probably a lot better.

      from the top ten most worn? Well, you’ve heaped loads of praise on Pavarotti, which I’ve known about for years but never bothered to try. But I’m like you, Rich, my loves lurk mainly in the Autumn-Winter realm. I’m in the market for a leather perfume, and as you mentioned “birchy”, I’m eagerly anticipating your wearing of Peau d’Espagne.

    • @RichMitch
      @RichMitch  Год назад

      @@JB.archive have you ever tried mona do Orio cuir?

    • @JB.archive
      @JB.archive Год назад +1

      Yes, and man have I struggled with that one. My sample of Cuir has lasted a long time. I’m always interested in what I refer to as the “character of a fragrance”. I like what Cuir intends to do, but what I get is second-hand-nicotine-residue-that-gets-on-your-clothes, if you know what I’m talking about. Since you mentioned it, I’m going to bring out my sample and re-examine Cuir.
      I’ve also sampled Mona di Orio’s “Suède de Suède” and find that it is very true to what the name suggests. The osmanthus and castoreum give it a decidedly suede-y leather profile.

    • @JB.archive
      @JB.archive Год назад +1

      Just watched Ramsey’s video on leathers, and he is apparently enamored with Peau d’Espagne. The interest is heightened. I’m not often compelled to blind buy, but there’s an itch to scratch. 😆
      Will responsibly sample.

    • @phyllisiervello
      @phyllisiervello Год назад +1

      Rich, I adored your top ten list and agree with what you said about Gerlain, who has been at the top of the fragrance world, more times than not. Sadly, as much as I have loved it, I think the fragrance world has become a travesty. When I think of the probably thousands of perfumes I purchased over the past decades, I now realize that I should have put all that money into my retirement. But what happened instead, is that after working for a company for over 37 years, I was forced to retire in 2023, which was two years before my own choice . I had intended to work at least two more years but was “ asked” to retire. So now, even though I still love perfume and have been into it long before there were any bloggers, I now wish I hadn’t spent so much money on perfumes, lots of which I still own in all forms (niche, designer, or any other genre) and concentrated on my Retirement. The problem with perfumes are they are as addictive as some other things that would make us either drunk or high, but being obsessive with perfumes can end up making us broke in the end. In any event, I still love perfume and even though I own more than I need or could ever live long enough to deplete , there is always still another fragrance I crave (even though I can no longer afford to), thus, therein lies then” addiction” that lovers of perfumes have and, most likely, always will.

    • @phyllisiervello

      “Therein lies the addiction”. I apologize for the typo.

      @@phyllisiervello no need to apologise. I think we'd all do some things different if we could. I hope it doesn't keep you up at night. Think of all the joy you got from perfume over the years and all the experiences you gained from it, you have nothing to regret, Phyllis
