The Hotel thing actually happened in Asia a few years ago wherein the government detained and demanded a cut of the profits from these deals.

Asia. Not very specific. That could be anywhere from Russia to Dubai

It was in Saudi Arabia. The crown prince, Mohamend Bin Salman(MBS) was trying to establish himself as the new leader so he was purging anyone he thought might challenge him. He was taking care of rivals and consolidating his power. He held 320 businessmen, princes, and government ministers in the Ritz Carlton in Riyadh. He held them under the guise of anti-political corruption, but no evidence was presented, really it was a shakedown. They were forced to hand over their wealth or face imprisonment, beatings, or torture. They confiscated $300-$400 billion in corrupt wealth.

This is such a GREAT episode! Poor Greg!!! And you basically guessed the right definition of "toodle pip"! Lmao It just means, "See ya later!" But Shiv and Kendall really showed the "Roy" in this episode!

6:14 Con is so right. Can’t retire on that. But a tremendous boost to the savings

Shiv desperately needed this win. The scene were she artfully manipulates the potential victim-witness is so diabolical. Episodes like this hammer in the point that, while we may find the Roys entertaining, they truly are despicable people at the end of the day who oversee an evil corporation that causes so much damage in their fictional world. Blood money.

The actual Murdoch hearings and succession drama (which this show is based of) is great to watch in parallel.

21:39 I’ve always wondered why people find anything Republicans in congress say, as genuine? You guys aren’t familiar with the sport but that’s ok. The teams ain’t similar as people claim.

So funny how sometimes we watch this stuff rooting for the obvious evildoers to get away with “it.”

The government threatened them to give them a cut or else... because they acquiesced the govt didn't hurt them and let everyone out.
