Constant practice of discrimination between the real and the unreal is extremely beneficial for those seekers who're mostly driven by the intellect (Jnana or knowledge) on the spiritual path. However, for many of us, constant practice of discrimination may be very difficult especially in this age of too many distractions. Therefore, realized masters says that Bhakti-Yoga is the easiest way for a modern man to free himself from the trap of ignorance.
About Swami Vivekananda:
Swami Vivekananda (1863 - 1902) was a great yogi, monk and one of the most celebrated and inspirational spiritual leaders of India. He was not only a great spiritual personality; but also a genius thinker, great orator, and a heroic role model for millions of youth.
Vivekananda carried on the free-thinking philosophy of his revered guru, Ramakrishna Paramahamsa forward into a new paradigm. He worked tirelessly towards betterment of the society, in servitude of the poor and needy, dedicating his all for the upliftment of his country.
His message of universal brotherhood and Self-awakening remains relevant especially in the current issue of widespread political turmoil around the world.
The young monk and his teachings have been an inspiration to many, and his words have become goals of self-improvement especially for the youth of the Nation. For this very reason, his birthday, January 12, is celebrated as the National Youth Day in India.

Constant practice of discrimination between the real and the unreal is very much beneficial for those seekers who're mostly driven by the intellect (Jnana or knowledge) on the spiritual path. Here the words 'real' and 'unreal' should not be interpreted in a general sense; in this case, they are conveying a different meaning as expressed below:
Real means 'Self' - that which is permanent, infinite and remains the same and unaffected as a witness throughout our waking, dreaming and deep-sleep states.
Unreal means 'nature' - that which is temporary, finite, changing, combining and re-combining, and dissolving continually. This includes our body and mind.
The essence of this teaching is that we must learn to identify with the unchanging Self and not with the changing nature. This results in the destruction of ignorance. And of course this is made possible only through constant use of Will power and regular and disciplined practice.
However, for a modern man living in the midst of too many distractions, practice of discrimination may be difficult. Therefore, realized masters says that Bhakti-Yoga or 'the path of love' is the easiest way for a modern man to free himself from the trap of ignorance.

Swami Vivekananda is indeed very inspirational. We must understand that we have to move beyond matter, shape and form - they are simply an illusion! Everything is energy - a world of frequencies. What we think, what we do affects the greater whole. Everything is interconnected. The goal of times for all of us is to raise our vibrational level attaining a crystalline state of existence, thus becoming pure light again! Pure light has no misery and unhappiness, death does not exist. Love is the highest vibration of all - the vibration of the Source!
Earth is a conscious being - a sphere of energy. Our incarnation to this energy point guided us to lower our energy level as what we call earth has fallen in vibrations. Lowering of vibrations causes ignorance. Raising our vibrational level we will be guided to the vanishment of ignorance little by little. The whole efforts need a thorough concentration and dedication - too much work is needed.

There is no need to control anything. The key is to understand that thoughts are the source of everything and so the absence of thoughts simply uproots all misery and evil so the body cannot act on them.
Man is slave to his thoughts and cannot part from them. He is conditioned to this from birth by Samsara.

Dear Diwakar, These masters lived in a time and place where there were no technological facilities available to record their teachings other than in written form. These teachings can only be found in book sources and hence this channel is a humble attempt to spread these hidden teachings to modern seekers who're searching for spiritual guidance.
Swami Vivekananda telling self is not the body and it is possible to cut self from body by yoga. But then why he had to go for several treatements and doctors in his last few years to heal ?
Swamiji said that soul and body are different that's right. But swamiji never said we shouldn't care about it. He said to take away the mentality of I am the gross body instead of Atman. But when it comes to spirituality he himself said to build your body with good nutritious food in order to help the country. He wanted to take away the mentality not the body itself. Although you will see many saints talking about body is useless and all of that but swamiji never said the human body is useless. He said it could be a docile and obedient servant if one could control it.

4:37 Why did you add “(infinite and unchanging)” etc.? He did not say that. While the real is indeed infinite and unchanging, that is not what makes it real. It is also real per se in and of itself by the regular, standard definition of the word real. This belief that vedanta has a special definition of “real”.. is incorrect. The world is finite and changing. It is *ALSO* unreal. In theory something could be finite and changing and real, but it is not actually so.

Interesting - I love everything about this except that the teachings never once mention the word she or her etc. I think this man did not mean any disrespect to over one half of the human population as this is the way it has always been throughout civilization and seems to be an unconscious bad habit that has had far ranging effects on our consciousness. At least now we are attaining some awareness about it. I feel that until this attitude is abolished from human consciousness we will remain stuck in a false reality.

Are these sages misleading us? Can I prove that GOD is within us. ? I have yet to see anybody see a method to prove this. I am not trying top put down great sages . I just ask innocently are we being fooled with all these colorful words.
Manaohar samtani, we must understand that words such as "God", "Self", "Consciousness", "Energy" and "Source of Creation" are one and the same as they represent the same truth. The problem comes when people associate different meaning to these words according to their religious and cultural backgrounds. Because of this limited identifications, people think they are separate from God or "the truth of existence". Just ask yourself these questions: Who or what created me, my body, mind, intellect, world, plants, birds, animals, human species and all their complex functions??? Surely it is not an accidental happening because there are mysterious laws that governs this universe and there is a strange order in everything. There must be a Supreme intelligence which is taking care of everything inside and outside of our existence. A light bulb glows because of electrical power. Similarly our body, mind and intellect perform their duties by the power of "God" or "Consciousness".
So What happened in this world. So much corruption, war, injustice. The good are last in line in this world( atleast materialistically). Where is this GOD.
+manaohar samtani, as long as people identify themselves with their physical body and mind, they will certainly experience all the dualities such as pleasure and pain, happiness and sorrow, good and bad, likes and dislikes, life and death etc.. In reality, our body, mind and this physical world are transitory in nature. Our sages teach us that we must experientially realize our true nature as eternal consciousness which is ever free from all kinds of bondage. This truth can be realized only through meditation and constant self-enquiry. There is no other way to free oneself from the trap of this illusory physical existence.
