- Is the Kizer Brat the Ultimate Budget Knife? Review & Testing. The Kizer Brat is a very appealing knife because of the fact it is an integral knife under $100. Usually integrals are something you only see in premium knives. In this video we will take a close look at the good, the bad and also do some real world testing to see how it performs. I hope by the end of my review you will know weather this is a Knife you want to add to your collection or not. What are your thoughts on this new design?

Mr. Azo knocked another one outta the park!
This might just be the best sub $80 hard use EDC. I need to try it.
yeah this is awesome. I bought this a few hours ago. This looks capable and classy. Doesn't look tacticool or gaudy. Looks elegant but can punch.
Kizer is solid one of my favorite manufacturers!
True dat! I can't find a single reason to spend more on other brands.
just ordered one!!
Beautiful blade on this!
WoW , seems like an awesome Blade , I can't believe I missed it , gotta get me one at $89 it definitely a no brainer .... 👍🖖
Budget price for the features and quality. Hope to get one in Canada. Thanks! 👍
Liner access to me is good enough isnt bad but isn't good. Had way worse. I relieve alot of tension off the lock back without loosing detent much easier to disengage but the lockbar jimping is a saw. Love the knife totally hate the saw teeth jimping. Did have to tune it a bit gonna sand jimping next to see if i can dull it down
The tuya big belly was the first g10 integral i got my hands on but its an axis lock knife. This one is almost as good. Im happy with both. Now i just need that red and black rike and ill be set!
I forgot about my Tuya big belly but mine is in carbon fiber. How much was the g10 variant?
Null droppin 14th, i think 3pm. Ya might hv tah google that shyte!! ✌️🎭🔪
I love the Spartan simplicity, functionality and ergonomics of this knife. Nothing flashy about it except for great strength and great value for the buck. I would pay extra for this knife with a CPM Magnacut blade.
Your drinkin the maggy poo kool aid. Its your life tho. I hv 100+ ti/ss knives. Carry one and one cheapo, which i use moe. You know,d2/g10 bs? Its usually all i needs. Wouldnt wanna chip or hurt my elmax or the old favs m390🙄. One of my fav ss knives is cmb darma. Luv that thang. Nx to my K3 or Meddy Proxima, i cant go wrong. Peace out knife freak✌️🤨🔪🎭
Great review I'm going to get one.
Thanks I appreciate it. I added a link in the description
@@Stassa23 do you have affiliate links for your channel if so let people know so we can support you and keep the party going.
@@gregoryblake3377 yeah the links I put in the description are usually affiliate links but I usually don’t talk about it every video because I don’t want people to feel like they have to use my links 👍
Any chance you could measure the folded width of the Brat? I'm hunting for good full size folders that fit well in edc organizers so I'm typically aiming for 1.25" or less folded width. Right now the Begleiter XL is leading the pack at under one and a quarter. This one looks a bit wider folded? Closer to 1.5" maybe?
The Blade hq knife rolls fit most knives. I have everything from a Vosteed nightshade Mini to Cold Steel/Demko AD-10 in one of my 5 Blade HQ knife rolls. (3 Blue 2 Green so far)
Some different colors and blade finishes would be nice.
Unfortunately My Kizer Brat had a very soft detent and lock stick. Nice knife but my particular sample was sent back for refund. They have a good concept but somewhat concerned about their QC on it. Might try one later on once some initial kinks are worked out.
Dang I hate hearing that thanks for the heads up I always want to hear if there are QC issues because I never know if they hand picked my sample or not 👍🍻🍻
@@Stassa23 It appears if there is an oddball knife out there I get it. I've had a number of Kizer knives with varying issues. It's uncommon to see a Kizer with weird action like this one had. Blade grind issues seem to be more of what I've seen, Perhaps they are turning out so much volume now they can't QC like once before. Thanks for your reply Stassa. I really respect you and your testing methods. Keep on being you!
Feel like it should be priced $20 less but hope they make a mini version
For the amount of time it takes to mill a integral scale there is no way they could do it much less than it is. Yeah a mini would be cool 👍🍻🍻
They should make a Brat 2.0 with a Hole and no flipper
I’m all for that 👌
Quick easy job for a machinist
yea man this thing looks pretty hard to pass up, especially for 89$...
Would have bought one if reversible
I’ll never understand why they would exclude that part of the market makes no sense
Thanks for speaking out for the lefties. Do they know we purchase left hand friendly knives and we have money.?
You are the under serviced 10% partyfrog. Society used to consider left handed people as evil, so you guys are doing a lot better.
Lots of folks complaining about this knife in the comments. All about roughly the same issues. Beware 😊
Really want to like this, ticks all the boxes…but it just looks too meh.
I like it, but I'll wait for gen 2, the one where they fix the clip. And 86 the flipper tab.
Edit: seems I'm not the only one.
Flipper tabs are trash, spidie holes ftw
Thumb studs would have been nice, in my opinion.
Yeah that would have been awesome
instead of the hideous flipper tab
Oh man I’m an absolute sucker for a good flipper tab. No thumb hole, no thumb studs or anything else to get in the way of the blade while your cutting and slicing!! I picked one of these up and it’s absolutely a boss!! The design and integral G-10 is just sick!!
@@Painterrap I really hope they do more integral g10 designs
I cut my flipper tab off and added a thumb stud. The knife is totally transformed
I really like my Brat! One small comment I have regards the "rock solid lockup." It's an issue I seem to have with Kizer button locks more than Civivi/Sencut. Indeed, the lockup is bank vault when the pivot is properly tightened, but the pivot backs out easily after fidgeting with the knife for less than a day, and quickly starts developing side to side play if it's not tightened up again. I've tried blue loctiting the pivot and letting it cure more than 24 hours, but it doesn't seem work (rotational forces while operating the knife are backing out the pivot, stronger than the loctite can hold). Same issue with my Original XL Ti Frag. I suppose the only solution is for me to EDC a T8 Torx driver and give it an occasional tightening.
Try red locktite
I always put Vibra-tite VC3 on all my pivots including this one and I never have any problems with pivots walking on me maybe give it a try 👍🍻🍻
You can super glue it, I’ve done it to a few pivots and it works great, don’t be afraid to try it 👍🏻
That would have been a win with thumb studs added.
80 bucks is budget? 😅
i think the design is pretty boring. BUT the idea of a g10 integral is really intriguing.
There are a few more from other companies.
@@FrankToThePoint oh really? havent hear of them. can you name some?
Aside from the gripes above….this is a great knife @ a great price (considering its 2023). Gotta wonder if all the naysayers above have actually even touched this knife. It’s excellent.
Would jump on this if it wasn’t a flipper.
It needs a thumb stud
89$ is not budget and also i dont think anyone nutty enough to watch knife vids on youtube is looking to get a budget knife in the first place.
