  • Video 2 from my Alabama trip from this past Wednesday. After the test in Santuck, I met up with David ‪(@freebrickproductions), Harris (‪@madisoncountysirens4295), and James (@CentralALSirens) to record this 2001-SRN in Autauga County, AL. This siren is believed to have been originally located in Montgomery like the Thunderbeams in this county. It, along with the other SRNs and Thunderbeams in the county run on ASC Compulert RTUs. I believe these originally ran on telephone relays or some older radio setup when they were originally installed in Montgomery, so the county ditched the original controllers for the RTUs. The SRNBs and 130s all have factory FCs.
Autauga County test every first Wednesday of the month at 10AM CST, usually running for a minute in both alert and attack. I want to say this is one of maybe 3 or so systems in the state that still runs more than one tone for testing. The county system consists of two Thunderbeams, at least one SRNB, these SRNs, and a number of 130s. There is also an inactive STH-10A Autaugaville.
