    16:13 Ryoga's is easily one of my favorite characters, but the "Bro Code" means nothing too him. The dude is a straight up opportunist when is comes to screwing over Ranma.

      Yeah, but you're already beginning to see another running gag with him...specifically that whenever he decides he's gonna be a selfish prick and go into business for himself, it pretty much NEVER works, simply because he's just too damn stupid to get the job done.

    Savage episode for sure hahaha.
    This what I love about this show, you expect something and it happens something more random. 🤣
    Ryoga is such a bastard almost all the time hahaha, he was covered by Ranma in this same episode and he did not even doubt trying to make Ranma get killed by Shampoo. Props to Ranma to endure all that damage and even the iceberg clash and still manage to beat Ryoga, cover his butt, and even save Akane for a situation in which she put herself in danger (They said that was P-chan but that is not true because Ranma was the one holding Ryoga).

    You should know this, but the "Here's Ranma" part originally mimics the original show's "Here's Ranma" continuous explanation of Ranma's situation from "Season 2" on, but this time they vary them from episode to episode.
    Welcome "best girl" Shampoo, the third fieance character introduced for Ranma. You'll soon learn this, so sorry no spoilers.

    Ranma's acting: the first time he used his girl-looks for a tactical advantage in a fight! Ironically, Ryouga helped
    Ranma and Ryouga fell for Azusa's girl-ploy because they ARE gentlemen. Esp. Ryouga. The pigtailed girl is the exception because Ryouga knows she is as much a girl as he is a pig
    Shampoo started out as a merciless villainess and that sometimes comes out. I hope the voice actor can convey that in the tone of her voice. This wasn't done in the original anime, where they gave her a stereotype-Chinese accent. (It's not happening this time.) It had her sounding simple, even, for some, bimbo-like. She is a fan favorite because she does bring sex appeal. As for her weapons: Chuí is a Chinese melee weapon that consists of a large, SOLID metal sphere on the end of a medium-long handle.
    Shampoo and tribe only became 'Amazons' in translations. In Japanese, we see her in Joketsuzoku, meaning "Village of Women Heroes"

    • @Pikachu132
      @Pikachu132 Месяц назад

      They were referred to as amazons in the original anime, during the anime-original scene at the start of the first Shampoo episode where we see a TV report from her village.
      (also zoku means tribe, not village)

      @@Pikachu132 Thanks! I was going by the Google translator. And you are right about the original anime. The TV program wasn't in the manga and "Amazon" was in the English translation of the manga. I, personally, prefer Tribe of Women Heroes or Warriors

      Maybe let's stop using "original" for the anime that changed everything from the actual *original* manga.
      Everything originates from the manga. That's why is the original.
      This anime is not an adaptation of the old anime. They're both adaptations of the *original* manga.

    This episode is bizarre, its starts off by cutting about 10 pages from the manga where Ryoga forces Ranma to "accept" a deal where the first of them to fall during the battle will have to give up Akane, then immediately turns on him and starts attacking him, leading to a lengthy sequence where the two of them fight while Sanzenin is still trying to attack both of them. It instead replaces it with about 10 minutes of entirely anime-original material where Ranma and Ryoga actually team up against Sanzenin and Azusa before jumping back into the manga material when Ryoga breaks the giant block of ice and creates the crack the two of them fall into.
    Really a shame since the original anime was making huge cuts to this portion of the arc as well, so it's never been properly animated.

    • @albertzinger7132
      @albertzinger7132 Месяц назад

      So, that original part still doesn't have a proper anime adaptation? Shame.

    • @Pikachu132
      @Pikachu132 Месяц назад

      @@albertzinger7132 Correct. In the original anime, they change Ryoga breaking the ice in anger to Azusa breaking the ice while knocking out Sanzenin for "bullying P-chan" (after having moved the scene where she spots Ryoga's collar to AFTER the couple crusher move). We then get a short anime-original sequence about a minute long or so where the freezing mechanisms under the pool malfunction and a giant spout of water launches the ice Ranma and Ryoga are standing on through the roof and outside, and the two of them start fighting for not-very-well-explained reasons (Ryoga just says "let's finish this"), eventually ending up on the diving tower near a pool. Then it starts following the manga again as Akane shows up and yells at them to stop fighting, repurposing the scenes from the manga into the new diving tower setting and having Akane fall into the outdoor pool next to it instead of the indoor pool they froze to make the skating rink.
      Ultimately roughly 30 pages of material got cut there. In the remake we only lost 12 or so.

      @@Pikachu132 I should check out the manga. Maybe the scene doesn't work that well?

    • @Pikachu132
      @Pikachu132 Месяц назад

      @@albertzinger7132 It works fine, the cut was most likely censorship in order to remove the entire idea of Ryoga trying to trick Ranma into promising to let him have Akane from the remake. The remake instead inserts some kinda clumsy dialogue about him trying to defeat Ranma to prove he's worthy of her.
      The anime has made similar cuts before to censor out various "outdated" elements, but this is the biggest one yet.
