10:16 That's just cold. She killed her own sister for living a normal dull life. While she lives in the life of luxury and thinks that reason alone makes her deserve to live. She is both disturbing and disgusting.
According to what I read about the episode , that's the dull and boring sister. The one who was killed is the one who is married , the so-called dull and boring one stole the married sister's identity and killed her
@@kimanireid6111 I don't know where you read that, but your understanding of it seems to be wrong. The lady that was killed is the dull sister, but during the episode, the cops and DA think that it's the wild sister that was dead. Basically, the wild sister and her husband were scamming people and the mob were hunting them. In order to shake herself of the mob, the wild sister killed her boring sister and assumed her identity. You can go to TV Troupes, they have a small recap of the episode.
I remember this episode. McCoy and Ross had to deal with a vindictive judge who destroyed their case. At one point McCoy ended up in a jail cell due to contempt of court... If you ask me, season 7 was stellar, and so was season 8 that followed... Ross and McCoy didn't always see eye to eye but worked really well together. At times during this era, we actually got to have a peek into the events in the character's personal lives and how it impacted their work, and there were lots of ethical dilemmas that sometimes resulted in us disagreeing with the characters and their decisions. The result was really compelling television. It is no surprise to me that season 7 won the Emmy for outstanding drama series for the only time in the show's history.
@jacoblesher453 yes, and another instance where Mccoy's mouth landed him in contempt of court with that judge out in LA. That judge was another incompetent one.
Lucy Sullivan murders her own sister, Joanne, to steal her identity and escape dangerous criminals. The case unravels in court, revealing that Lucy’s fear of being killed by her criminal associates drove her to take her sister’s life. The controversial part comes from Lucy's emotional manipulation, trying to justify her actions as a means of survival, despite the fact that she cold-bloodedly murdered her sister for her own selfish escape. This raises ethical debates about self-preservation versus morality.
2:55 😁😁😁. I love this scene. That actress really did a great performance (did she played a lawyer in another criminal show?). I always liked the interview process that the detectives have with potential witnesses. These one-scene-actors can really show how well they can act, and it always gives another piece of information to the case they are investigating.
When she drops her charade at the end (“My sister lived in Terre Haute…”), she changes into Julia Roberts in another Law and Order: the snarky mouth, the eyes, even the sound of her voice. 😮
I've never heard a non Wisconsin native pronounce Oconomoac (no I didn't spell it correctly)correctly before. Congratulations Law and Order! You have done what I thought was impossible
The murderous sister is a true psychopath. She drops the mask and you can see how lacking in conscience and empathy she is in letting herself pass judgement on another person just for having what she considers a dull job. The actress did it very well. I don't know the name of the actress but am pretty sure I've seen her previously.
8:52 I always had a problem with this scene. Her lawyer Sourpuss is completely forgetting that his client lied about her identity to the police and the court. He goes on to say that she was under no obligation to incriminate herself. Whoever wrote this screenplay didn't realize that's what protection against self-incrimination under the 5th Amendment is for. If your true identity is incriminating, then you refuse to answer, you don't pretend to be someone else.
The judge in this episode was a sick piece of work, and the sister was a total sociopath. A prolific con artist who murdered her own sister to escape the people she'd pissed off, and tried to justify it by saying Lucy's life was dull and meaningless. Bravo for loving your husband, lady, but you're still a monster.
Saw this episode when it first aired. The woman who plays Lucy/Joann is *very* good! Her transformation from a cute, innocent girl next door to a sociopathic killer was disturbing. She would have made a great Marvel or DC universe villain.
Makes me sad when I see good actors like the guy playing the older cop and know they are no longer with us. They create very relatable characters that America falls in love with. And I think we miss seeing them when they are no longer here, that’s a high compliment to an actor, when they become a beloved character and Americans enjoyed seeing them in their living rooms on their tv before the advent of technology and IPads, laptops and IPhones. People used to all talk about their favorite tv shows, now we can watch them on our devices.

Touching evidence, gun I’m sure glad law and order has evolved. There’s no way even to show a suspect a cop with touch a weapon with no gloves even in an interview.
Those over-plucked eyebrows on that actress detract from her being more attractive looking. It would be fine id she were doing a period look, for a certain era or try to update it to a modern 1920’s or 30’s style. Its a common mistake to over pluck your eyebrows, and it’s not usually flattering, the old 1920’s actresses and early 30’s could pull it off, because that was a “look” they created with the thin brows and Cupid bow lips with dark lips, you would go very pale as far as powder and foundation, or you could try to look like Josephine Baker the famous Black performer who was famous for her dancing. She had the thin eyebrows too and would do the Cupid lips and short bob, as the look they created for that time with the flappers being very popular.

He also voiced the candlestick in Beauty and the Beast. There’s video of him singing Be Our Guest at award shows.
