    ❓️What is Bump Steer & How to adjust it❓️

    • @KevinKatzenberg
      @KevinKatzenberg 2 года назад +1

      Bumpsteer is the measurement of steer a car sees as the wheel is raised or lowered. It is mainly affected by the placement of the tie rod in relation to the lower and upper control arm. You’ll need a bumpsteer gauge to measure it. I lean towards the gauges with two dial indicators as opposed to just one.

      When the shocks & springs compress the A-arm moves upwards, the steering rack pivot pulls the spindle inward causing a toe-in situation.
      That's my shot at an explanation, Kevin's explanation might be difficult to understand if you really have no idea what bump-steer is...lol

    What do you see by lifting the Rack up.

      More ground clearance and more angle while still meeting the droop rule.

    I'm so glad you made this video. I was starting to think I was crazy being the only one who has noticed how terrible these cars are driving through the corner now hahaha. Everyone seems so concerned about their LR height, there is no thought about what the rest of the car is doing. And the shock setups remind me of back in the 90's when everyone was running so much angle on the panhard bars, they were bouncing down the straights and killing their RR tires.
    Enjoy your videos and I'm sure some of your info will make it into my car this year.

      Thanks for watching. And also from the 90’s … left rear clamp setups. Talk about carrying the left front.

      @@KevinKatzenberg Oh yeah the LR clamp! There's nothing like not being able to see over the hood of the car hahaha.

    ❓️Is a 604 Asphalt Motor the Same as a 604 Dirt Track Motor❓️ { Cams }❓️

      I'm not really sure. Engines is not something I know much about above some basic maintenance items. Thanks for watching.

      Yes, it's a crate engine.
      The 604 & 602 is the camshaft lobe not the size of the engine.

    Rules are necessary, I just don’t like them changing every year.

    • @HoganTechnologiesLLC
      @HoganTechnologiesLLC  2 года назад

      I agree with rules if they make things safer or cut costs. I think now we are getting to a place where the rules are being made to benefit people.
      I just don’t think these suspension rules are in the right place right now. Thanks for watching.
