    Nice walking around intro. Feels fresh.
    Two very interesting shoes which I’m lucky to own. I’ve run over 200km in the Takumi Sen but only about 50 in the Streakfly. They’ve been alternated as my workout shoes for club sessions.
    As individual parts, I think I prefer every single element of the Streakfly. It’s more comfortable, the midsole is bouncier and it feels better on step in. But, as a whole shoe, I definitely prefer the Sen 8, it seems to give more assistance to the runner.
    I think I’d, personally, like to see both with a more aggressive drop to make them feel faster.
    At the end of the day, they are both great fun shoes to run in and I can hold the same paces in both. If I’m just doing a hard workout, it’ll be the Takumi Sen. If I’m wanting more versatility, I’ll wear the streakfly as it’s a more comfortable shoe overall.
    Can’t argue with the £40 price difference though. I think that’s the biggest issue that the Sen has. It makes the Streakfly seem like a good value daily trainer.
    For a race, I’m still getting out the Vaporfly.

    These metrics actually really help me. I guess I’m wired that way. This review is the best comparison I’ve seen on RUclips.

    It would be interesting to have a "standardised" comparison, like the Adios 6 for example. For leg pounding that would be really interesting for me, how much difference is it between "regular" shoes and these.

      Yes they don't live up to the expectations. Maybe we hyped them too much? Vaporfly would still be my choice. Hope this helps and thanks for your comment, Melissa.

    Great review, nurd question : in some shoes when I run I feel like the heel to forefoot transition is to FAST. This also make a clapping noise (like you clap your hands) when the forefoot hits the ground. Strange feeling but enjoyable! But afterwards my legs hurt.. Did 10k VO2 max run in the Vomero. Loved them for being light on the foot and the airbags work very nice but the next day I had to take a day off. Never had a problem like that with RCV2. Is it the higher drop? Narrow midfoot? What increased the velocity of the heel to the forefoot?

    • @pigu8734
      @pigu8734 2 года назад +1

      most nike shoes have a very extreme reverse geometry that encourage speedy 'heel strike to foot flat' by bypassing the early stance phase of gait (initial contact and loading response). so you get that pronounced forefoot slapping impact and increased weight bearing. if you run in sprint spikes they all have the same feeling.
      for the vomero, the reverse geometry is pronounced since the air units in the forefoot compresses less than the softer rearfoot zoom x. it is easier to visualise this when you look at the nike maxfly spikes. also, the air pods act also like a point loading rocker rather than the traditional less aggressive rounded/rolling toe spring

    • @scottfinlayson8920
      @scottfinlayson8920 2 года назад +1

      You never said what was hurting for you to need a day off but if the "slapping" is almost you landing on the forefoot area when maybe you are more used to landing further back on your foot strike then it could just be that you are working your soleus muscle which is under the more classic bulb shape calf and goes down to the achillies more when landing as that could be taking the force and acting like a brake to stop your heel going down and leaving you flat footed each step. If you aren't used to that then that can be pretty painful and debilitating when getting over used or just more than normal.

      @@scottfinlayson8920 thanks but I am a heel striker.. the transition from the heel to toe is like a quick slap and not the usual role feeling .. I make a sound like someone is clapping fast..

    Are the laces in the TS8 different then the laces in the Adidas 6 ? I had no problem with the laces in the Adios 6 besides the fact that look fragile but so far I did not break then up while lacing .

    • @mattbeier
      @mattbeier 2 года назад +1

      I have both shoes and the laces are different. The TS8 laces are thinner, especially at the ends of the laces and have less elasticity. The TS8 eyelet position makes it difficult to nail down the proper tension since the laces are tight to the eyelets, but once proper tension is achieved, a superb lockdown. I would highly recommend as Alex did to size a half size down from your Adios 6. I’ve enjoyed running in both shoes, but the TS8 are the ones I’m always excited to get on foot since it’s a fun fast shoe. I hope this info helps you.
