    In this video I share three skating drills that can be done with roller blades that will help hockey players with their skating. These drills are chosen to be beneficial when the players lace up the skates after the summer.
    Rollerblading is similar to skating, however there are some differences. I picked these rollerblading drills to be the most like the movements you will do with skates on.

    Your videos are very helpful with me trying to be a better player. I am 24, and I have never played youth hockey growing up or have had formal training with skating or stick handling , and my experience is only limited to shooting and skating in my old driveway when I was 9 or 10, and playing pick up with players better than me. I enjoy taking notes and am working on a practice regime to make myself a better player so I can eventually feel comfortable playing Rec Hockey. Thank you for the vids!

    Very helpful! I'll try this tomorrow, specially the bwds to fwd drill. I don't play hockey (maybe I'll try it someday), though it is very helpful for skating just as it is. Thanks, btw!

    The same muscles are used, but the technique can be different which could effect your skating when you are on the ice. For beginner and novice players it isn't anything to worry about as anything will be better than doing nothing.
    For better skaters the odd rollerblade session certainly won't hurt, and if you know what you are doing you can use it to develop further. Check the link in the video description for more about my view on rollerblading, I go into more detail

    Thanks - I use an Azden lav mic 325UPR it was $600 used. I initially used a cheaper model but wanted to have better sound and the ability to mic two people at once so I upgraded it. I want to have guests and other trainers on my channel so it's not always just me, there are lots of great trainers and coaches out there.

    After watching the video and thinking about it I knew it was either flexibility, how deep my knee bend is (which I know is suspect as an adult beginner inline player) or both. I've been skating and doing leg exercises for about 5 months now so I'm squatting down on my stance a lot better lately. I plan to practice this later today with a deeper bend and see. Thanks!

    Hey Jeremy, great video! What recommendations do you have for picking rollerblades for off ice training? Anything to be aware of or not get when looking for a pair? What price range should we look in compared to our skates?

    this is a good idea Coach Jeremy because I am going to start ice hockey this fall because first need to inline skate first but it will help me do better inline and ice skate and it will help everyone to do better to inline skate first than to ice skate next and then next to do ice hockey

    There are a lot of good stretches for the leg, build up a routine and stretch all the muscles. For this move put some extra focus on adductor stretches and hip joint mobility exercises. There are some good dynamic streches that will help.
    Look with Kevin Neeld, Hockey Online Training, and Gary Robers / Nike Hockey and you should find some good ones.

    I'm new to playing hockey and I really don't like practicing skating on my inlines because it takes a while for me to get used to switching from ice to inline or vise-versa. But I do where my inline blades when I go out and practice shooting and passing off-ice. I think it's a better muscle memory for me to be elevated instead of on flat feet. Idk but works for me. Less fanning on pucks.

    It seems like your settings are off on your audio recorder probably because it has two XLR inputs and your recording from both of them despite only having one mic running into. You can fix this by by duplicating your audio track in whatever editor you use and then using an audio effect (its called something different in every editor) to play back the same audio on the opposite channel given you the same output on both the right and left channels.
    Helpful video as always keep up the good work

    i know this isn't the proper video to leave this comment on, but i don't navigate youtube that well, I love your videos they have been a big help and i was wondering if you could do a video on how to do a top shelf backhand while coming in on a goalie just like Radim Vrbata of the coyotes. he's the player i try to emulate and i just can't seem to get his shot down on my own. I know it's technically simple but he makes it look silky-smooth and effortless. thanks again for the videos!

    What would you recommend to do on a high speed break away feet from the net with a defender right behind. Would I crash all the way through are there stopping or agility techniques that can prevent injury or make a better play.. For a rollar hockey pick up game and average or less skating ability.

  • @razwit
    @razwit 11 лет назад

    I'm no Jeremy, but thought I'd throw in my 2 cents to try and help you out. It becomes easier to position your feet for a mohawk as you get a deeper bend in the knee (you can even test this without skates on. try doing a mohawk straight legged and then try in a full squat). I'm guessing that this may be what's holding you back. Try focusing on the bend rather than a stretch and see if that helps.
