This is very good chest pain tutorial. Only small thing I noticed is the Nitro infusion concentration should be more diluted. 1.5 or 3 mL/hour of 400 or 200 mcg/mL is typical. 1.2 mL would be of 50p mcg/mL.
@@Skittishhh I understand that. However, the PT is not hypotensive and we are giving nitro for the chest pain and he never asked the PT about their pain level after nitro administration. Seems like you should reassess pain level after giving pain medication before giving more?
Neuropathy is common for diabetics, and neurontin (gabapentin) treats this. They give gabapentin for a crap ton of reasons from anxiety and sleep to Alcohol and drug detox.
You did a damn good job for being proctor and partner

why fentanyl and not morphine? (MONA) Also, should you check and see what his pain level his after nitro administration before giving fentanyl?
Fentanyl doesn’t drop blood pressure and it’s MONA/FONA

@@ianreynolds2470 its okay to give either fentanyl or morphine kind of the paramedics preference
A lot of agencies don’t use morphine anymore. A lot have turned to fentanyl
Older comment, I know, but wouldn't the patient's sulfa allergy play into that as well?
This is not how an IOOHS works.
you said gabapentin for diabetes Im guessing you meant metformin
Maybe for neuropathic pain from diabetes.
Lots of people take gabapentin for diabetic neuropathy. That's probably what he was referring to.

400 mcg of nitro 0_o
400mcg is the same as 0.4 mg. its the same dose. What does it matter.
She’s probably used to the spray which always list its spray dose at 200 mcg or 400mcg per spray
