      24:27 why wack it? A gentle roll and check side and the nine in the lower corner . . . Predictable. The wack and who knows where it'll land . . Smh

    Why do announcers always blame "bad luck" on a scratch? (Oi at 39:00) . Of course Oi knew the side pocket may come into play. He miscalculated, end of story. Hmm, I wonder if force follow was a better choice? It looked dead straight and the cue-ball would have traveled naturally more down table I would think, since it was a slower pace

    I want to see FSR play Ronnie O'Sullivan. The problem is that Ronnie won't take pool seriously. It would be a great demonstration of safety vs. jumping prowess. Ronnie being the master of safeties and FSR being the master of jumping.

    • @BACKSPIN9ball
      @BACKSPIN9ball Год назад +1

      I don’t think that would be an entertaining match to watch cos Ruiz even being the best in the world his safety play is very suspect it’s what cost him the 10ball champs but even with that Pool safety is very different from snooker safety It would be an easy win for Ruiz against Ronnie. I say this because Judd Trump struggled to make effective safety shots agains Jasyom Shaw.
      And it clearly wasn’t because he didn’t know the game , he just didn’t have the pool muscle memory to judge the speed and spin to beat a top pro

    • @davidhunternyc1
      @davidhunternyc1 Год назад

      @@BACKSPIN9ball All good points, and the match between Judd Trump and Jayson Shaw was in my mind too. On the flip side, did you see Ronnie play the Black Widow in straight pool for his first time? He crushed her and I've seen Jeanette unofficially run over 150 balls. Ronnie would have to buckle down and play pool for a few months. Obviously, pool and snooker have a totally different feel. In fact, if Ronnie did take pool seriously I bet it would negatively affect his snooker. Still, if Ronnie could get up to speed I think it would be an incredible match, say a race to 15, win by two. Ronnie can't jump so FSR would clearly have the advantage. FSR plays pool so he would have the advantage too. Ronnie, however, is the greatest cueist who ever lived. Who knows what kind of genius Ronnie O'Sullivan could bring to the table?

    Majority of players don't have near the skill level of past professional players . If they played another 20 or 30 years they still wouldn't be there . A lot of wasted time contemplating , to miss the shot

    • @sonicccc323
      @sonicccc323 Год назад +3

      Skill in terms of creativity and hitting crazy shots? maybe yes. But pool nowadays has become scientified, they only have to play the best decision with lower risk shots. They're not impressive but very tough to beat.

      We don't see just how good a lot of today's players are because they play the percentages more now. They play smart safeties instead of going for the out. Like stated above.... pool has become more scientific. In my opinion there are a lot more pros at the higher skill levels than years past.

      Longer races with winner breaks no magic racks is true pool ! A break a piece with a short race is a coin flip! Luck enters with short races! Winner breaks makes come backs possible! When I was younger I ran back to back sets races to seven. I broke and ran 14. That makes excitement and comebacks possible! Now if you get down

    For those of who didn’t watch the whole tournament are gonna think Ruiz got lucky ,Ruiz played perfect pool on Friday and Saturday to top the table so he could play the weakest player in the semifinals which happened to be OI .
    Ruiz demonstrated a great tactical mindset that other pool players luck .
    He went on to play Jayson Shaw in the finals and we all know how that went
