Regarding the last question with capturing photos in the darkness... Painting with light is a technique used by many photographers in low-light situations. If you're shooting the night sky with the stars, but want a building or tree in the foreground to be visible, simply shine a light on it during the long exposure. The light you shine can be continuous like a hand-held flashlight, or instantaneous like a camera flash. If you use a camera flash, preferably off-camera, you can capture moving subjects sharply, as they are only illuminated for a brief instant, their motion doesn't make the photo blurry because they don't move during the amount of time they are illuminated. You can get really creative, such as illuminating the same person in multiple locations throughout a scene, or use lights to draw shapes or designs in the air, same as car lights and stars leave trails in long exposures.
What a wonderful exposition! I'm from Venezuela and it's sad to see how poorly supported is speleologism and science in general here! There is so much to discover! Glad out there are people interested in knowing and exploring nature such as Francesco's team!
One of the most beautiful and biggest caves in Venezuela (in Aragüa State) was completly blown up and destroyed by a company from Europe for cement production, one of the most atrocious ecocides in our country, all well kept quietly underneath the carpet.
amazing! Seeing stalactites made of opal made me think of what we could learn about natural formations on other planets which are formed over much longer time scales and with unexpected materials which resemble the familiar earthly formations. nerding out big time.
Very nice and interesting talk keep going with it. awesome caves.
there is a video of guys walking on mt. roraima the mountains he is saying nobody explores...oops right here on utube. ' the lost world-n=mount roraima' search it here on the tube'
i think they found ancient temples there at 7:47 they are just showing us boring stuff because they know there is somthing bigger there like ancient temple ruins not caves. upper platform i obviously a temple of the gods. strange the surface is a square.
I went to calcehtok and loltun caves at yucatan Mexico in 2006 it was an amazing experience . we paid for a tour man because it was really long and bigs. beautiful place . a lo of estalactitas y estalagmitas .
I wonder if the indigenous people envy such explorers or think them crazy for testing the gods. Whatever your beliefs, there's something sacred about the unexplored places of the world.
I would love to explore one of these caves, but giving that earth is so unstable I would rather be up here then go down there and take the risk of being abandoned, squased, drowned, breath a bad gass or catch a disese. Why am I like this... (┛◉Д◉)┛彡┻━┻ *flip the table*
his accent is almost too thick... cool vid tho i wonder, what does exposing those ancient colonys of humans mean... i'd be looking to see if it affects them

Why no Antartica on your map; are there no caves there?
+GR8Chi Good luck finding an accessible entrance
Peter Schmidt Buttoned up tightly eh?
+Peter Schmid t
:) Thank you! I couldn't believe that large a land mass was careless.
GR8Chi It isn't. There's plenty of research being done there, just not underground.
I believe the SINK HOLE in my backyard could be the oldest cave in the world.

What is the correct spelling of the word he uses to describe these caves? It starts with a T. :p
They found the httyd 3 hidden world!
Now I want to explore caves. But I'm poor and physically weak. :/
I wonder if the indigenous people envy such explorers or think them crazy for testing the gods. Whatever your beliefs, there's something sacred about the unexplored places of the world.
Sadly the gods are way too patient with humans...
Valken If I were a being of pure energy dispersed over infinite distances I'd take my time too ;)
Wow

Is there earth flat? I've been seeing lots of videos of this. And that we was lied to about the earth being round
Dope

I would love to explore one of these caves, but giving that earth is so unstable I would rather be up here then go down there and take the risk of being abandoned, squased, drowned, breath a bad gass or catch a disese.

We all should eat more meat. It helps the environment. Eating meat keeps biodiversity alive.
