Only 12,000 deaths, seems unrealistic in the sheer magnitude of several nuclear weapons being detonated simultaneously over a vast and wide area that could have millions of belkans inhabiting in those areas. I would say 12,000,000 have been killed during the initial stage of nuclear detonation followed by the radioactive fallout.
IIRC from AC5 the Belkans nuked the passages through the mountains between North and South Belka, making overland access to North Belka impossible and stopping the Allies advance. The 12'000 killed were mostly Belkan troops holding the line. It makes more sense than blindly destroying their own country.
@@fix0the0spade Yet they refer to the event as just that, destroying their own country. It's a bit of a weird dicotomy, where they wanted it to be an impactful event on Strangereal's global history but more on a 9/11 scale of things than risking something bigger than the real nuclear bombs in Japan. That is, Project Ace was likely going for an symbolic event instead while treading carefully on the nuclear aspect to avoid raising backlash in Japan. Honestly, I think 12.000 is really low and they might have been better off with 50.000 affected and no true estimatives. But the lore is kind of set in stone by this point.
@fix0the0spade Perhaps, but the radioactive fallout would have still likely killed more of their own people in longer period of time....even if "only" 12 000 would have died due to the nuclear blasts themselves.
The Grey Men appears in the air battle in Mission 10. Go Mercenary, you can fight Huckebein "Pops" and Ashley Bernitz "Grabacr" along eith Schwarze with "Heartbreak One" Bartlett as Ally. I forgot about Knight Difficulty but in Soldier you can see "Ofnir" 1 Michael Helmeroth.
@pearl3406 Ikr. People who use the A-10 in every Ace Combat mission, especially in 7 (cause it's a flying brick,) are like the most alpha group of ace combat players.

PHILMKD1995 Apparently all bombs were detonated in the outskirts of the country. Thats why the death toll is so low
Still though I agree 12 million would have had a bigger impact psychologically than 12 thousand

d u know the xb-0 has been constructed in that gigantic hangar?
I'm pretty sure XB-0 is waaay to Big for that small ass hangar
The airfield in this mission, is the same from AC5 mission Solitaire?? They look very similar
Yes
Yes dude when i saw the mountain tunnel it all clicked and they even say how that area was Belka and near Ground Zero
PJ sounded like Shamrock
I love PJ
he reminds me of Chopper and myself
we all talk alot
also why do the talkative characters always have to die
PJ don’t need your life story especially over a military radio net
I like PJ
Are these Belkans the Grey Men?
I don't think so
just the remnant of old Belka
like how diehard nazis in WW2 fought until they died
After the Belkan War, those Diehards evolved into the Grey Men, correct @@germanwarrabbit?
Always have been, they are like Free Erusea (but worse, like... WAY WORSE!!).

In a mission with mostly ground targets, you pick a plane with weak air-to-ground capabilities.
Because fuck logic with a 10 foot pole.
it's because the F-15C is ciphers canon plane
people aren't allowed to challenge themselves in games now 😭?
