Dr. Stone truly had the potential to become one of the big names in anime. The only reason why it hasn't is it's cursed release schedule. Season 1 came out right along with demon slayer season 1, which compleatly overshadowed it. The same thing happened with season 2, which released along with attack on titan the final season, and currently season 3 is airing along with demon slayer season 2,so it's getting overshadowed again.
Yeah, as much as I love Dr.Stone the only reason I started the anime when it was airing was because I was reading the manga from the day chapter 1 came out so I was looking forward to the anime but if I didn't know anything about it I most likely would have overlooked it.
Yea I heard murmur's of it and some memes when season 1 came around, but never took interest. Wasnt till late last year tht I got around to watching it. lol
What you were able to gather from that one ending is more or less correct: the premise of the series is that all of humanity turns to stone and it takes thousands of years for the protagonist to awaken and find himself in a world where human civilization no longer exists... so, being a scientist, he decides to rebuild the world using science. It's a fun show that also makes a point of being scientifically accurate (at least in theory), so you can also learn some things from it.
Dr. Stone and Mob Psycho 100 are my go-to for when the world feels hopeless. They both inspire faith in humanity. Dr. Stone really makes you appreciate what you have, and feel pride and awe in the accomplishments of our species. Can't recommend it enough.
I’ve never felt such raw emotion so many times like Dr. Stone. Hearing Senku list out everything humanity has accomplished and he is determined to bring it all back just gives me tears and such an appreciation for what we have built Humanity is far from and we are all messed up in our unique ways, but seeing someone start from scratch with the goal to build what we once had makes you appreciate everything so much more
This anime has made me tear up not by being sad but by showing the true potential of the human mind The fact that we got here just by being curious, talking with each other and using the work of people before us is truly impressive, and makes me think that maybe humanity is not that bad afterall
In a world where humanity is so often portrayed negatively its so refreshing and inspiring to see a story about the greatness of humanity and the amazing things we're capable of
Dr. Stone is so good man. One of my absolute favorites. All the music is amazing and the story is extremely unique. It's even one of the few anime that made me cry, but at the same time I constantly laugh my ass of. I loved it so much, that I even bought the Manga and I gotta say, it keeps up the quality throughout the entire story.
Oh boy I can’t wait to watch this when I get the chance! Dr Stone is a silly and unique anime that I am pretty attached to. Opening and ending 3 (Rakuen - Fujifabric and Voice? - Hatena are my favorites!) Also, the remake of the first opening is super sentimental for most of the fan base haha
This show is such a vibe. Aside from the fantasy start, this is a story set in our own real-ass world, and its "magic system" Is our own honest-to-goodness science. Its so fun. I'm not normally such a fan of shounen, but this one is different
oh yeah.. Dr Stone is ridiculously underrated. I hope more people give it a chance with s3 airing now some hopefully noticed it's on the schedule again..
By far some of the most fun I've had watching any anime. It's such a great anime. All elements of it are great, love the music, the visuals are amazing as you can see, including the animation, sound effects fantastic, voice actors are great, and I like the story as well. No to mention the science, which, as a science lover, makes me so happy everytime I learn something new or just watch them develop things. You should definitely watch this if you want to have fun.
Dr. Stone is definitely in my top 5 favorite animes of all time. The moments when he "invents" stuff is so hype! Especially because, at least for me, everything he does at least in the first and second season are stuff we've actually learned in school as part of our basic science lessons. But he actually applies them. And also carries the right attitude towards science, which is trial and error. If anyone gets transported to the past, 90% of the human population will probably not be able to explain electricity. Them: "So you have this small metal device that you can talk to other people with from around the world and you can ask it any question. And it runs on electricity? What is electricity?" Me: "So its like...ummm...electrons and stuff...that can shock you but it can power things by umm...." lol
I'm very much recommending Golden Kamuy, to anyone who will listen! it's got really good openings and endings, and an amazing story! as for Dr. Stone, the basic idea is that, through a certain mysterious event, humanity becomes frozen in time for thousands of years. eventually, our main character wakes up, and has to piece together what happened, figure out how to wake others, and develop technology back up to what he remembers prior to this event, starting from roughly the stone age. luckily, our main character is a bit of a genius, and he's retained a ton of scientific knowledge that is incredibly useful in this setting. my favorite thing about this story is that it's incredibly hopeful. there's just a very optimistic view of humanity and our achievements as a species. it took a lot of people a lot of time and hard work throughout history to get us where we are, and even when the characters are trying to fast track their way back to what they remember, they're often limited by their tools and resources, as well as a lack of niche particular knowledge in certain areas along the way. but even the setbacks only make you more impressed that we even got to that point of development once. and they're still hopeful about getting back there... they've seen that it's been done before. it makes you feel the value of what we currently have.
The best way to explain it, one of those endings explained it best without spoiling anything but there was one key moment about that ending you overlooked. What happened to him in the gap that buildings crumbled and nature took over? What I love about Dr. Stone, it's that perfect balance of science, humor, psychology and emotion.
Here's a short summary of the story with only very minor spoilers(aka it happens in like the first 5min of episode 1) Senku ishigami is an absolute high school genius. He has mastered almost everything you could think of. One day a mysterious green light turned all human beings into stone. Senku stays awake while petrified and manages to get depetrefied about 3700 years in the future. Now he tryes to solve the mystery of the petrification with the goal to bring all humanity back to life.
I started watching Dr Stone knowing nothing about it in 2019. It became, along with Vinland Saga, my favourit animes of 2019. Vinland is a given since it's masterclass in storytelling, but Dr Stone is unique, it catches you a more real level. It inspires so much amazement and curiosity at how far mankind has come and what it took to get there. I also enjoy the humor, the cast of characters is very likeable and the soundtrack is really good. My favourit op is the second one.
Dr. Syone is just a really enjoyable anime for me. The characters and story maybe be the main driving point behind it but the added science, history and comedy add a lot to it.
Best way I can describe the plot is like reverse Futurama lol (if you’ve seen that) so imagine if Fry went into cryosleep and instead of waking up in a futuristic society because it had been advancing the whole time he was gone, the world had reverted to the Stone Age because nobody was there to keep it running. It’s really fascinating. The people from the present are forced into a further past, and now have to build up civilization again. It is a super interesting premise, and the show executes it very well.
Dr stone, heavens design team, cells at work, and how heavy are the dumbbells you lift. 4 shows that make learning fun. Dr stone is science and tech Heavens design team is origin of species Cells at work is human anatomy And how heavy is for the muscle nuts
It is absolutely one of my top 5 animes of all time. The premise is super good. At moments it can feel kinda BS but otherwise the story would kinda be boring.
So far as they stick the landing, this is going to be an anime that's going to stand the test of time. They still have quite a bit of the Manga to finish, so hopefully they don't run into any more production hiccups, but so far it's been great. The science and science theory is dead on (within reasonability at least), and it's not the same sorta "hack/slash/fight" style anime while still being action packed. Definitely a refreshing anime that's fantastical without being your normal "fantasy" anime.
Senku Scientist People around the world are petrified after thousands of years. Civilization collapses into the Stone Age world once again, Senku is released from the stone. Think about the story of scientists in the Stone Age of minerals. Building a new civilization, Senku is cool. Build a lot of artifacts in the stone world.
It is incredibly easy to tell what I love about Dr Stone without spoiling anything, its how it handles SCIENCE!!!⚗ Story is great too but true power this show has is that it can turn complex things in to super easy to understand ones and mundane things in to captivatingly interesting ones.

Yea I heard murmur's of it and some memes when season 1 came around, but never took interest.

It's pretty unfortunate.. at least people have Dr Stone Fridays and Demon Slayer Sundays..

Watching Dr. Stone made me cry over a damn lightbulb
The one I anime I have for this pick me up is Gurren Lagann. Dr. Stone is becoming a close second.
This show is basically if someone's super power was science. The whole show uses science in very cool ways, and it also explains it very well.
Dr. Stone is hands down my number 1 anime, for no particular reason. I just love it with all my heart
Same...at least for recent years...ilike demon slayer but Dr stone is just so grand and magical I LOVE it
This anime has made me tear up not by being sad but by showing the true potential of the human mind
