- The holy grail of all snare drums returns in 2024 for Tama's 50th anniversary: The Bell Brass!
The heart of this snare is its bell brass (cast bronze) shell, a material known for its unique ability to combine warmth with a powerful, cutting tone. This snare delivers exceptional projection and clarity, whether laying down a groove or blasting out powerful rimshots. Its tonal range is versatile, offering both the depth needed for rock and metal and the sensitivity required for jazz and studio work. This thick, seamless cast bronze shell will fill the room with a bell-like ring, and a boom of lows and mids.
Tama has engineered this snare with precision, ensuring that every stroke, no matter how soft or aggressive, is captured with accuracy. The Bell Brass Snare is designed to respond to the most nuanced playing, giving you control over your dynamics and expression like never before. Tama's classic Mastercraft throw-off system with guide rollers and extended snappy snare wires allows for snare contact across the entire diameter of the drum.
This drum is also fitted with Tama's one-touch internal muffling system and die-cast hoops with the classic deep snare gate on the bottom side.

That's a good drum
How would you compare this to the 83 bell brass and the savage custom replica you featured awhile back? Would be interesting to hear the similarities and differences!
Great video as always!
'83 bell brass has a similar tone with additional low-end and slightly more out-of-tune vibe. The 3mm Savages have a similar low-end with a different tonatily. Hard to describe, but we will have a comparison video in the future
@@westcoastdrumshop wicked, I’ve got a 3mm savage on the way from Cade in the next month or so! Can’t wait. Thanks for the reply
@@Curtis.720 Good move! I own a couple
Was the internal muffler engaged? When mine is wide open it has very noticeable and characteristic ring to it that I don’t hear at all in this video. Great playing as always!
I installed a CS Black Dot and removed the factory ambassador to keep it in the box. We wanted our demos to sound a little different
