  • In April, the Bureau of Prisons abruptly shut down the troubled FCI Dublin. KTVU interviews dozens of women and explains what led up to the closure, questioning whether this was retaliation for outside oversight over the prison, which has been riddled with sex abuse for decades.

Good riddence. I actually spent a greater part of 10 years trying to apply at FCI dublin since I didnt feel like commuting to Fresno to work and I was recommended to apply there by fellow Veterans. What i got was games with the application process despite being "offered" a position once. They alleged a China hack in 2013 prevented me from getting hired then...Other things were where they refused to accept certain medals I was awarded in the military. I told myself that if theh didnt accept my final application in 2019 (which theh swore up and down that they would) I'd walk..and not look back. And you know what...i never regretted it. I now am blessed with better position and look at all of the people they harmed during that time frame and after. The embarassment to the service that those who worked there were..now they are behind bars. I guess they wouldnt have Wanted someone with my moral compass working there...this would have been concluded years ago!!!!!

FCI Dublin definitely needed to hire better staff. There was one guard that had transferred from a males facility over to FCI Dublin and he was so traumatized that anything would tick him off and verbally abuse us and then would raid every cell throwing all of our liquid hygiene all over our clothes and beds

Important work KTVU. BOP sidestepping accountability is disappointing.

This is pretty impressive investigative piece for a media outlet that seems to preference the former DA, which is where these problems are rooted
