Thank you. This has just solved my problem. My sky box and router wasn't connecting and when I rang sky they gave me loads of things to try which none worked. Said I need new one. But I tried this and it worked first time.👌

Wow! I was tearing my hair out because my normal channels don't work ( there is something wrong with my roof aerial). I was just left with Sky which stopped working because I fiddled with the cable connector. Big mistake. It's 10 years after the video was put on RUclips but I now have my Sky back. Wonderful!
I have just followed your instructions & they didn't work the first time as the box appeared to come back on on it's own with the picture breaking up, however tried again, box came back on itself after 2 minutes & it's perfect! Thank you :-)

Worked a treat, was about to arrange a £65 engineers visit, i tried everything, checked connections multiple times, even tried my multi screen box downstairs, that worked so i was convinced i had a faulty sky+hd box, tried unplugging the power loads of times to, but still didn't work. Tried this and it somehow worked =s thanks.
Spot on , worked a treat , did not have to turn it on after 4 mins though , it turnd it self back on to the channel we were last watching .. Thanks for the info ....

Excellent trick thanks, sky instructions say I'd have to switch all off disconnect/reconnect all devices an hour later so you saved me an wasted hour of my life today.
Note : You need to do this from a single red light showing otherwise it doesn't work.
If you have amber and red flashing wait a minute till you only have the red light showing then do it again.

Bloody brilliant! Thanks.... Sky insisted on an engineer @ £65 as they said it was a cable or box issue.. Why could they not have talked me through this fix over the phone?

Tried something different which i found on you tube. Leave the box on for thirty minutes ( on the page where it says no signal). Put on standby and do not unplug. You are meant to leave it for overnight but i left mine for 2 and a half hours. Put it back on from standby mode and the channels are back on. Had the problem for two weeks and even sent for a new LNB so i'm glad it worked for me anyway.

Called out Sky 2 months ago for £65 with no signal issues. Changed my freesat box, but still getting no signal issues every day. Followed your video and it worked. See what happens tomorrow.

Thank you it worked. check all the cables and wire connected to the box sometimes bad weather or objects can get in the way, that's what happened to us
well what you just did was a remote reboot, u can also reboot the box at the mains and also check the dish input cables at the back which surely fixes the issue

This is a great tip, I've a sky+HD box and it's been playing up for the last week. Checked my cables all OK and tight on back of sky box (no strong winds, bad damp, wet rainy weather) new dish and cables fitted in the last 18 months, so should be no problem there. I'd rang sky 3 time to complain about the lose of satellite signal as it was on and off and on and off. Sky just tried to get me to upgrade to a sky Q Box(at a cost to me). Which I was not happy to do, as I'd loose all the programs and films I'd recorded/saved or payed for. I did as you said , held down the power button for the 5 sec (green light goes to red) Then pressed the Sky button, light changes to amber as you said it would (-: I didn't have to wait 4 mins for the reboot as my box rebooted it's self and now I've all my channels back. I'm gonna ring sky up again tomorrow and ask them why they don't tell there customers this trick on rebooting the box, instead of trying to get more money out of them by trying to sell them the Sky Q box...Thank you so much for this tip as I've had the Wife and Kids nagging me about the telly not working. After holding the standby button for 5 seconds, the light does go red/amber, however the 'online indicator' light comes on red a flashes intermittently. When I press the SKY button, nothing happens and when I try to switch on the HD box again I can only do so after switching the power off at the mains and on again, only to be once again greeted by the no signal message. Can you offer any help? Thanks

Lisa Calnan put your dish somewhere else on the house on the chimney stack is a good bet! I had a soil pipe blocking my signal but I thought it was far enough away not to cause a probbie!.....I was wrong, thought my box was faulty, it wasn't! good luck!

It might be either of the SKY dish leads at back of box.If you undo them both an check that
they are well attached to the cable.There is usually one which is not,so needs screwing on tightly.

I tried this a few times nothing... I called sky they checked a few details and said the box is faulty as I was reading it out to them. So pointless doing this if thats the problem. Oh well such as life. I'm glad I have sky protect it also covers any breakdowns with your tv.
