Ross is a cry baby, and the Lydia is a bad debater. 1) Biden ending his Candace doesn’t mean he should end his presidency. Being a strong candidate does automatically not equate to good leadership, just ask Trump’s former staff. Biden has been an effective leader of his party and continues to be. 2) Suggesting that Kamala didn’t earn this position and that her de facto candidacy is “weird” is projecting. Despite the lack of a primary, America has voted for Harris to be VP twice, fully knowing that if Biden were to step down she would replace him. At this stage in the election there isn’t time for another primary, it only makes sense that she would be the best positioned to replace him. Republicans are grasping at straws as Trump and Vance are being shown to be “weird” in the thoughts and actions. 3) Ross continues to say that the energy behind Kamala’s campaign is manufactured and not an organic response from the voters. Lydia offered no pushback to this. In this moment, Americans on the left are excited to have a competitive race and are equally excited by Kamala as their candidate.

I'm a voter from the outside looking in. As Joe Biden would say you're talking a lot of malarkey. Harris is the right person at right time in American history. You are right in only one thing. Biden's campaign was failing. But for the comment it's failing now you would have to be an ordinary person like me to see the tides have shifted and Kamala Harris is soaring to the top. The claim that she put over 1500 ppl in jail for marijuana offenses is patently false. Only 45 people were sentenced to state prison for marijuana convictions during Harris’ seven years in office. A lower amount than her predecessor I might add. She instituted the back on track program which diverted ppl convicted of marijuana offenses away from serving jail time so maybe do some more research lol

You can’t handle the truth
Ross seems a bit peeved that what occurred, or is occurring, was beyond his imagination and demonstrates an unknowing of historical events and their nature. He seems welded to a particular narrow view and his skepticism at this point only expresses bias without real support. I think this is the ground he stakes out as a podcaster, the character he plays as devil’s advocate and general party pooper. Early polls seem to be indicating we’re now in a dead heat. I think the podcast is already becoming outdated. The challenge is steep, undoubtedly, and I think it would fair to present it as such. But failing to grasp the moment is disingenuous.

And this was in what was even then solid blue CA. So how did it get that close? You could look at politics in CA as a kind of "coronation". From everything I can tell Kamala Harris doesn't really have the accomplishments or leadership capacity I look for in a Presidential candidate. I've seen and worked with people similar to her where they tout accomplishments that aren't really accomplishments, just things they did. They come across to me as phony and with an inauthenticity. She was a California AG and a Senator so there is some executive experience there but that is only one part of the experience I look for.
She doesn't really have the private sector experience I look for. Such as creating companies, making a payroll, managing employees, etc..
There are large gaps and disconnections between what she says, what others say about her and her actual experience. Lying or misrepresenting this experience is not going to help her case or make her more popular because any statement that is not accurate can easily be debunked.
The American people are smart. We can see through the fog, smoke and gaslighting. The same people that are promoting Kamala's "accomplishments" were previously touting Joe's cognitive capacity. Just like with Harris, we have Biden's actual record to look at and you cannot square that circle between what actually happened and what is being said.
When compared to the opposition, that all doesn’t seem like a big deal.

In the prior episode Ross was talking about how Democrats must be reflecting on how Republicans felt when they couldn't push Trump off the ticket similarly to how it seemed Biden wasn't going to be removed. Now that he has stepped aside, he calls the entire thing a disgrace, the way he resigned is strange, and there is a general weirdness to it. That's an odd reflection to make given his prior comments in which I took his stance to be, "You guys are no different than us", if Biden were to remain on the ticket. And now instead of admitting that we have a functional political party on one side instead of the entire party revolving around a single man and reflecting on how his prior thoughts were disproven, he just comes away with more negative takes on the situation. I can only imagine how negative his reaction would have been if Biden remained on the ticket.
"Characterization" is a process by which we try to make sense of ourselves, others, and the world. "Prejudice" is when we try to stuff others in a prison of our predilections. Some of us are trying to characterize Kamala, others maybe not...

I am actually sort of done with the belief that every president must get 8 years or they are a failure. If it comes the time of your life to run for president, you should be able to run. Four years is a long time. Kamala's staff needs to prepare for an onslaught of critiques about the hard left positions she espoused in 2020. I realize that a general election is different from a party's nominating election, but she will have to meet the critiques with courage and truth telling.
