Reed. So I'm a HomeKit user but the tablet control panel is amazing. How about a short series taking us un-informed step by step from buying the tablet to having it up and running in our home - just like you showed it here? I mean, total baby steps. Great stuff
Thanks for the tip! I’m adding the sticky: true field to the Android notification and it doesn’t seem like it’s doing anything. The channel: alarm_stream makes a difference on my phone if it’s in do not disturb mode but if it’s not then the notification just comes across like normal 🤷♂️

One of my kids holds the world record for flipping over the dishwasher, which is why it is broken lol. My wife and I bought a GE Smart Oven. It's been really nice and lazy, I mean convenient, to preheat the oven when we're driving home from work or simply sitting on the couch watching football. The wifi connected clock is a plus. 😜
Clock Reset - This may or may not work with your microwave, but I set up a very simple dumb clock reset for three clocks in our house. If the batteries are removed, the clocks reset to the same time (12 pm in this case) every time the power is cycled. So I added a smart plug and turn off the power for about 15 seconds ending at 12 pm every day. This means the clocks are always very accurate and I don't have to reset them after a power outage or for Daylight Saving Time. The down side is that I may have to endure up to a day of incorrect time if a power outage is soon after the reset. Two of the clocks annoyingly beeped every time the power came back on, so I opened them up and carefully scratched a gap in the circuit leading to the beeper on the printed circuit board. Since we did not need the alarms in these clocks, the beeping problem was solved.

I am definitely a warm light person specifically around 2700. My mom doesn't really care and will when changing out light bulb when it dies will just usually just pick a random one from the loose light bulb box. I can usually tell when two lights and not the same and will fix it because it bothers me. Non matching light bulb color temperature and brightness bothers me more then warm vs cool. They don't have to be matching light bulb brands or anything just as long as the lumens and color temperature matches. If I am at home and it's not a 2700k light bulb in any I will change it and go to the store to get more if needed.

Those "cheap" USB-C devices I've found the issue is usually that the 2.0 standard on type-C is not followed properly, or maybe there is multiple methods, but a REAL 3.1+ cable works 100% of the time.
From the looks of your microwave/oven I have the same or similar model with the same issue. It has a setting where you can have it get the time from WiFi instead of manually setting it and it fixed the fast clock.
If your air gradient is correct at the time of recording, your indoor co2 levels were 1000ppm. That’s borderline on “turn on ventilation” and drowsiness levels.
1:25 i have esphome ESP32 device with 3$ DF9-40 pressure sensor underneath the washing machine leg, so that i don't have to press that green button myself :P it took some time to make it perfect via smoothing, derivative sensors, since when someone walks around the washing machine it can sway. Or try finding one with more pressure instead of 0-20kg that i have. Maybe that will make more difference :)
Great video Reed! That Shelfy fridge device is really interesting. I can't seem to find any information on whether or not it is able to be integrated into Home Assistant or not. Have you been able to?
I wasn't able to watch the video yet, but I use a light that is as close to natural daylight as possible, i bought new ledstrips for the kitchen exclusively for the kitchen. Warm white lights mess with the colors of food a bit, and I'm around cold white lights enough at work.
I've been procrastinating on doing that because it's not straightforward. In The Netherlands it's common to have "whole house" (in reality it's usually just kitchen, toilet and bathroom) ventilation box that always run at a slow speed - and you can crank it up when cooking/showering/etc. You can get either wired rotary control (from what I can see on wiring schematics it's just phase being sent via different pin) or typical EU plug and wireless controller. Since this box was replaced a while before I got into home automation (I think back then something like "Mr. House" written in Perl was the way to go) I took the wireless option. Works fine for manually switching it on in the kitchen. Not so great for So now instead of simply controlling 3 relays to select the higher speeds - I need to figure out how to record/replay the RF remote signals, and whatever logic it's using to pair up remote and box after power outage.

team warm lights for life
I have my Echo Shows in night mode all day long. That only displays the clock and only an ad if I on the rare occasion use a voice command
If your air gradient is correct at the time of recording, your indoor co2 levels were 1000ppm. That’s borderline on “turn on ventilation” and drowsiness levels.
TEAM WARM BABY!
Noooo!
Hi! What theme are you using for your dashboard? It looks very nice!
Warm light for where high pedestrians congregate.. cool lights for utility rooms
Hate to say it Reed, but Aly is 100% right about that bulb temperature!
Complains about Amazon ads, then litters video with ads. Nailed it!
Warm lights for sure
I wasn't able to watch the video yet, but I use a light that is as close to natural daylight as possible, i bought new ledstrips for the kitchen exclusively for the kitchen.
Warm white lights mess with the colors of food a bit, and I'm around cold white lights enough at work.
You should definitely automate the vent fan. Ours automatically turn on when we’re cooking.
Not so great for
So now instead of simply controlling 3 relays to select the higher speeds - I need to figure out how to record/replay the RF remote signals, and whatever logic it's using to pair up remote and box after power outage.
Team WARM, for sure,
So how did you get the timers and music working? (did I miss it in the video?)
Freaking awesome! Uhh the last three seconds?!? lol😅
Love your content! Question: Have run across a graphic (GUI) layout of the whole house that shows your devices with status within HomeAssistant similar to what SmartThings has in their latest release? As for Warm or Cool lighting; Cool for doing tasks, Warm for mood/conversation.
cool light
Team warm, it's classy and....warm.
15:47 candy dispenCer ? 🤭
NO, COOL LIGHTS 1000%
Ordered a shirt!
That’s so cool 12:45
OK I need to step up my dashboard game. But its a daunting mission. Can you point me into any guides to start building that "dishwasher button"? I think once I get that one down the rest would be variations of that with some tweaking.
Warm lights for sure, I want to feel like I am at home, not in an office or a hospital.
Which protocol is more reliable like wifi, zigbee, matter or bluetooth and which you use more.
cool automation. Love it! There is something I like to ask you for Outdoor Smart Door Sensor, what do you Use for that? Thank you in advance! I am Using Homey Pro & Apple Hub for my hub
