If you are far, just run from the first two flurries toggle *off* lock on and dodge directly into her final salvo and keep running in that same direction to avoid the delayed final flurry. Up close; toggle *off* lock on and run around her in a tight circle to start. This throws off her tracking and the 1st salvo will fly over you. Dodge in to her 2nd salvo then dodge in again for the final one and again keep moving to avoid the delayed final flurry. Hope that helps.

Radahn is easily the biggest “S tier fight completely ruined by some of the most obvious design flaws and oversights that should have taken 20 mins of programming to fix” boss I’ve ever seem
The double slash, X move is very hard to dodge, but I feel like his difficulty lies in the amount of chaos that is happening and trying to figure out what is happening, and when to attack is the biggest struggle I had with this boss. Hope this guide helps make it not seem so unfair.
I'm still holding out hope that he's gonna get nerfed in a patch but I doubt it. All they had to do was make his tells slightly longer, make him slightly less aggressive, and cut down on the flashbang particle effect BS in phase 2 that often completely obscures his move tells

I saw a lot of other guides out there that had very unrealistic levels for a causal player being 300+, I wanted to be meta level to show that a normal build can still yield the results we all want.

Great guide. No cheese or gimmick strats, just teaching the mechanics so that anyone can beat the boss on their own. A lot of people say this boss is BS, but after watching you layout all of his moves it feels very doable.

For those glintstone builds; when Radahn does his meteor assault dodge the initial upsweep then immediately cast Ranni Darkmoon/Rannala’s Full Moon spell. They absorb all the meteors while hitting Radahn mid air.
After watching this guide I also was able to defeat him. Took me quite a few goes with mimic tear, but got there in the end thanks to stronger armour build and adding Miquellas Great rune. I think it was more the dodge options which I wasn't using. I was thinking some couldn't be dodged so know I could helped a lot. Thank you star man!😅
I cakewalked through the DLC with my pure Strenght Giant Crusher build, struggled a little bit on Messmer (but I get to him pretty early, I was scadu lv 8 I think), Midra and Gaius, but overall everything felt a lot doable and "easier" than the base endgame, until I reached this monster. After something like 300 tries, I gave up, upgraded Mimic Tear for the first time in all my 15+ playthrough and beat him first try with it. I'm not satisfied at all, so I'm going to reach him again with my other characters and in the meantime I'm watching guides after guides on RUclips to memorize his patterns even before battling him again. And this time I'll beat the fuck out of him solo, I swear. Great video anyway, just gained a new subscriber and if you keep doing this kind of content I'll follow you for a long time for sure! Cheers

Hey man amazing video. Detailed, to the point, chapter for each move, etc. The one complaint I have tho: the game volume (music specifically) in the un-commentated sections is SUPER loud (at least on my setup).
Very good guide! Helped me a ton! :D But a few more comments/tips on his moves for other players: His 6 hit combo in the second phase is the exact same thing when you get it as an Ash of War from his sword, and looking at that and what it does helped me understand this move a lot better as you can really see what he's doing since it's also a bit slower. His clones can be inconsistent, so you have to be prepared for some shenanigens. For instance, when he does his clones dash attack when you are far away his clones will still reach you but sometimes he won't or will be just far enough that you cant roll into him or ypu'll get hit by the light AoE, so you have to roll backwards. Another example, when he does his meteor attack and you run away from it after you jumped the meteors, his clones sometimes can still hit you even though you're running away from it. But since his clones never deal a lot of damage, just ignore them and focus on jumping Radahns actual attack. Last example, when you use a summon, in his clone leap attack his clones can focus your summon, but Radahn will still focus you so don't get fooled by it thinking you're safe. Last tip, I highly recommend using the best armor you have and the dragoncrest shield talisman and the golden braid talisman to get to around 75% damage reduction, otherwise his L(fast)R(delay) attack in his second phase will one shot you. Other than that just do what the guide says and you're good to go :3
this is 100% an amazing guide on how to beat this boss. I can honestly say, I had to respec a few times and finally turned my berserker toon into a healer for someone else to do it for me. I spent days and there was no hope and I gave up. I look forward to trying this now this guide is up! Also... I can't seem to "save" this video. Thank you for taking your time to create this guide.
This guide is excellent. I never thought I'd be able to beat phase 2 until watching this. Was it worth 10 whole hours of trying? Definitely not, but this prevented it from becoming 20

I even had a run where he was 1 hp and I had 7 flasks left, just couldn't quite squeeze it out on that one unfortunately though haha. Thanks for your guidance!
An awesome guide for a poorly balanced boss. I've beaten him many times solo, but never without a shield, so I'll be using this guide to help get me there! I'd also be interested in a guide for Radahn when fighting him with friends (you as a summon), because his AI goes wonky with multiple targets and he even seems to be able to cancel several combos mid-combo! Different considerations! I leave my summon sign outside the door because I like to help people get past this imo unfair boss :) In an case, cheers!
15:53 i always dodge early so i can dodge slash one, then dodge immediately after to dodge next slash, then dodge towards him and it works for me everytime
Was having trouble with a few of his moves, most I understand anf just need to fo better to avoid, nut a few are a bit unintuitive. it seems that rolling into him but to the side is the go to for his normsl phase 2 melees, and they wanted use to sprint to dodge a lot more. Thanks for the tips!
Also, my disappointment that you can't use vow of the indomitable to avoid the orbital laser due to how LONG the hitbox lingers is immesurable. It gives a full second of invulnerability and git me through Malenia before I learned the "dance" to avoid waterfowl.

This is a great guide, I wanna say that outright, but I am still struggling to dodge pretty much all of his moves especially in phase 2. Part of that I believe is the fact that because he has so many different attacks and many of them have similar start up animations that it’s incredibly difficult to remember how to dodge all of them, and some of them just have incredibly subtle tells. Also the the double slash attack is borderline impossible to fully dodge and I keep trying to dodge the gravity slam attack he does by jumping and it just doesn’t work. Also in the second phase it’s incredibly difficult to tell which attacks he’s going to do because almost all of them cast down the holy lights which can obscure your vision and coupled with his speed and the hitboxes for some of his moves and it feels like luck trying to dodge some of these moves. Like for more hardcore souls players who can analyze the bosses movesets and can perfectly time their dodges it’s alright, but for a regular casual souls player who’s trying to do their own like like myself, it really feels like it’s practically impossible. Once again this is a very helpful guide and I’ll try to remember everything in it, but this fight is something else entirely
This fight is very complex and definitely the hardest souls boss I've fought, the more time you put into him the easier it is to see the tells of each move and also see what is even happening. I felt the same way you did but with enough determination I got him, and you can too!
This boss would be way easier if only the Camera zooms out a bit. You can't see anything with how huge and in your face he is. All they had to do was fix the camera to make it a fair fight.
The gravity corkscrew I had to roll away. Every time I rolled into I got hit. Running away from the meteor I kept getting hit every time I turned right and jumped. Sometimes roll would work. I guess you have to get started running as early as possible. Sometimes the positioning makes you run out of space. A properly timed shield will negate some of the damage. The spell to suck in the meteors is too slow. What all these guides don’t mention is the exact timing of the jumps. Just roll left. Just roll right. Well. I “just” rolled left and still got hit. I tried to mimic the timing and still got hit.
This would be the best fight in the game, if it didn't have hit boxes more awful than even the worst of DS2. Sometimes I wonder how any of them made it through play testing in the first place. Still, great video and very helpful!
I cant wait to try him in my strength build but right now im with incantations and it sucks. I can barely do a charged attack and tryi.g to creat distance sucks. I'll get there eventuall. So far my record so far is getting him down to 10% health left
Great video! Trying to do an RL1 run and this boss has the most concentrated amounts of bullshit. It looks like your dodges on the Clones - Slash section only worked because you were dodging into a pit on the floor terrain. In my testing, if Radahn is on the same floor level as you or lower, the dodge needs to be executed near frame-perfectly as soon as he slashes to I-frame all the bits in order to avoid at medium distance. I found it better to dodge left at medium distance as it’s more forgiving. Also if you don’t have the entirety of the arena available to run away directly backwards, the strategy for the meteors doesn’t work well.
I do agree with you statement on the clone slash, a lot of the time I avoided the move the exact same, even without the terrain helping me, I double dodge either into him or into his swords and the move is avoided. The Meteor section can be dodged also by circling around him to the left or right but, to dodge the clone portion, it is more reliable to have distance away from him. May the RNG be with your RL1 run!
His clones just confuse me too much, also his phase 2 rock sling i dodge the rocks and turn to sprint backward but get stunned by the clones. How come the clones don't hit you? I did exactly as you described
that is weird, another person had the same issue as you, multiple times during recording I dodged that move the same way I demonstrated. either they patched it or you need to get more distance away from radahn. If your still having trouble being hit by the clones, you can tank the clones as they do little damage or try running to the right. but mainly you want to dodge the 5th hit into AOE explosion because those two moves are the big damage that could really finish you off.
My ass watching the video several times sure of having learn all these techniques and 100% confident. Me 5 minutes later into second phase Radanh chokes at the first 5 hit combo, some how survives just to get absolute demolished by gravity meteors P2 🫠. Then i just got whooped for 3 hours with no significant progress, i guess i cant just get good 😭
Lol dw. I've beat him a bunch of times and honestly a huge part of success is tied to RNG. It's part of why I don't think he's well designed. He can sometimes spam the bad moves which coupled with uneven terrain are a nightmare. It's even worse when he's inconsistent with P1 and P2 start attacks (most of the time, he does the same openers but not always). But other times he uses the attacks with best openings a lot and those are much more likely to be wins
Just found out.I've been doing the dlc with no scadu tree blessings cuz I forgot you had to actually allocate them like you do with flasks I just thought they give you the buffs no matter what
I'd say using the mele spells if your doing a pure caster(Carian slicer or using zamor ice storm for big windows), you can also deflect his meteor attack with ranni's dark moon and also get some damage/frost in. night comet will be good for medium distant engages. phase 2 however it would be safer to stick to carian slicer and zamor ice storm. Something special you can do is using carian sovereignty AOW, it can rack up tons of poise and damage in two moves but the move is very unsafe.

Yo man kind of late to this video but how do you read the difference between the start up of 5:40 and 9:33? To me I can't spot a difference and it often costs me the fight when I roll early and get caught by the slow right hander.

At Level 200 FFS i just am not good enough. It's so frustrating. But your Vid explains His Moveset really good and i at least i know now in Theorie what shit he is doing in phase 2 lol. I get him down to 1/3 but then he gets me all the time. How i hate this Boss 😅🤣
Phase 2 is a dramatic increase in difficulty, I suggest trying to do phase 1 by yourself and in phase 2 try to find an opportunity to summon. if you did Ansbach's and Thiolliers questlines you can summon them before the door, but radahn will be buffed by 3x's health (for each person that crosses through the door his health will be multiplied and 3 is the max). In phase 2 I have a lot of trouble seeing as well, my best advice is try looking at his weapons, because they are the biggest part of his model. if you can keep getting him lower and lower for the more attempts that you do, that means you can do it. Show them who is the TRUE LORD!

How do you parse the difference between the L (fast) R (delay) attack and the 5 hit combo 2 P1? Every time he does the delayed one it gets me because I see it as the faster 5 hit combo. And then when I try to wait to see which, I get hit by the 5 hit combo because it seems too fast to wait
Ok seriously, how are you supposed to dodge the standing clone slash when you're not already clipping through him? I have used a shield, I got killed. I rolled into it, I got killed. I rolled away from it, I got killed. I tried to jump over it, I got killed. Do you just die if you're not up in his crotch when he starts the attack? Is there any reliable way to avoid getting destroyed by this move?
The main thing you want to avoid in this fight is running away. You'll notice a lot of his attacks will heavily punish distance. You should get into the habit of staying close to radahn most of the fight. The only two attacks you should run away from are Miquellas light and his Comet attack. From my experience he shouldn't engage with you from afar with the standing clone slash.
A lot of times, I just close my eyes in this fight and throw a hail mary hit, THE LIGHTING FUCKING SUCKS. It hurts my fucking eye. Anyway, I will follow this guide and see if I can yield better results than my usual over-leveling strategy.
The difficulty for me is to know which attack is he doing. Some of his attacks I can dodge already but other ones (especially 3 hit combs) I’m still struggling with
Great guide. I beat him when the DLC first came out with mimic and it took me forever. Recently did a new game plus and it took me less than 15 times with no mimic/summons lol. If anyone is still struggling I recommend being max scadutree level and having max lvl flask and just keep fighting him. Eventually you will beat him. This boss is a lot of RNG when it comes to the moves he does it really just comes down to luck and determination. I'm gonna new games plus again just to fight him and Malena again they are really fun fights.

@@Creamz_bro it worked! I got him within an hour yesterday! First with Ansbach to back me up and then I reloaded and did it solo as well :D. I even had a run where he was 1 hp and I had 7 flasks left, just couldn't quite squeeze it out on that one unfortunately though haha. Thanks for your guidance!

I've beaten him many times solo, but never without a shield, so I'll be using this guide to help get me there!
I'd also be interested in a guide for Radahn when fighting him with friends (you as a summon), because his AI goes wonky with multiple targets and he even seems to be able to cancel several combos mid-combo! Different considerations!

15:53 i always dodge early so i can dodge slash one, then dodge immediately after to dodge next slash, then dodge towards him and it works for me everytime
Was having trouble with a few of his moves, most I understand anf just need to fo better to avoid, nut a few are a bit unintuitive. it seems that rolling into him but to the side is the go to for his normsl phase 2 melees, and they wanted use to sprint to dodge a lot more.

Also, my disappointment that you can't use vow of the indomitable to avoid the orbital laser due to how LONG the hitbox lingers is immesurable.
It gives a full second of invulnerability and git me through Malenia before I learned the "dance" to avoid waterfowl.

This is a great guide, I wanna say that outright, but I am still struggling to dodge pretty much all of his moves especially in phase 2. Part of that I believe is the fact that because he has so many different attacks and many of them have similar start up animations that it’s incredibly difficult to remember how to dodge all of them, and some of them just have incredibly subtle tells. Also the the double slash attack is borderline impossible to fully dodge and I keep trying to dodge the gravity slam attack he does by jumping and it just doesn’t work. Also in the second phase it’s incredibly difficult to tell which attacks he’s going to do because almost all of them cast down the holy lights which can obscure your vision and coupled with his speed and the hitboxes for some of his moves and it feels like luck trying to dodge some of these moves. Like for more hardcore souls players who can analyze the bosses movesets and can perfectly time their dodges it’s alright, but for a regular casual souls player who’s trying to do their own like like myself, it really feels like it’s practically impossible. Once again this is a very helpful guide and I’ll try to remember everything in it, but this fight is something else entirely
This fight is very complex and definitely the hardest souls boss I've fought, the more time you put into him the easier it is to see the tells of each move and also see what is even happening.

This boss would be way easier if only the Camera zooms out a bit. You can't see anything with how huge and in your face he is. All they had to do was fix the camera to make it a fair fight.
The gravity corkscrew I had to roll away. Every time I rolled into I got hit.
Running away from the meteor I kept getting hit every time I turned right and jumped. Sometimes roll would work. I guess you have to get started running as early as possible. Sometimes the positioning makes you run out of space. A properly timed shield will negate some of the damage. The spell to suck in the meteors is too slow.
What all these guides don’t mention is the exact timing of the jumps. Just roll left. Just roll right. Well. I “just” rolled left and still got hit. I tried to mimic the timing and still got hit.
I still have trouble with his 6 hit como and the P2 gravity pull or meteors, but I FINALLY beat him solo
This would be the best fight in the game, if it didn't have hit boxes more awful than even the worst of DS2. Sometimes I wonder how any of them made it through play testing in the first place. Still, great video and very helpful!
I also wonder how they play test some of these moves, would be great to know what there intent was when creating these clone moves.

Great video! Trying to do an RL1 run and this boss has the most concentrated amounts of bullshit. It looks like your dodges on the Clones - Slash section only worked because you were dodging into a pit on the floor terrain. In my testing, if Radahn is on the same floor level as you or lower, the dodge needs to be executed near frame-perfectly as soon as he slashes to I-frame all the bits in order to avoid at medium distance. I found it better to dodge left at medium distance as it’s more forgiving. Also if you don’t have the entirety of the arena available to run away directly backwards, the strategy for the meteors doesn’t work well.
I do agree with you statement on the clone slash, a lot of the time I avoided the move the exact same, even without the terrain helping me, I double dodge either into him or into his swords and the move is avoided. The Meteor section can be dodged also by circling around him to the left or right but, to dodge the clone portion, it is more reliable to have distance away from him. May the RNG be with your RL1 run!

His clones just confuse me too much, also his phase 2 rock sling i dodge the rocks and turn to sprint backward but get stunned by the clones. How come the clones don't hit you? I did exactly as you described
that is weird, another person had the same issue as you, multiple times during recording I dodged that move the same way I demonstrated. either they patched it or you need to get more distance away from radahn.
If your still having trouble being hit by the clones, you can tank the clones as they do little damage or try running to the right. but mainly you want to dodge the 5th hit into AOE explosion because those two moves are the big damage that could really finish you off.
My ass watching the video several times sure of having learn all these techniques and 100% confident.
Me 5 minutes later into second phase Radanh chokes at the first 5 hit combo, some how survives just to get absolute demolished by gravity meteors P2 🫠.
Then i just got whooped for 3 hours with no significant progress, i guess i cant just get good 😭
Lol dw. I've beat him a bunch of times and honestly a huge part of success is tied to RNG. It's part of why I don't think he's well designed. He can sometimes spam the bad moves which coupled with uneven terrain are a nightmare. It's even worse when he's inconsistent with P1 and P2 start attacks (most of the time, he does the same openers but not always). But other times he uses the attacks with best openings a lot and those are much more likely to be wins
Just found out.I've been doing the dlc with no scadu tree blessings cuz I forgot you had to actually allocate them like you do with flasks I just thought they give you the buffs no matter what

I'd say using the mele spells if your doing a pure caster(Carian slicer or using zamor ice storm for big windows), you can also deflect his meteor attack with ranni's dark moon and also get some damage/frost in. night comet will be good for medium distant engages. phase 2 however it would be safer to stick to carian slicer and zamor ice storm.
Something special you can do is using carian sovereignty AOW, it can rack up tons of poise and damage in two moves but the move is very unsafe.
@@Creamz_bro thanks, ive been using the triple glintblade and can sometimes stun lock his first phase into doing the gravity pull attack. Ill def try those out. Your video helped significantly improve on the second.phase. tho still cant beat it lol

Yo man kind of late to this video but how do you read the difference between the start up of 5:40 and 9:33? To me I can't spot a difference and it often costs me the fight when I roll early and get caught by the slow right hander.

Thank you very much! I can't do it... I have best him with a Summon but am not able to get to Second Phase alone, because i can't read His Shit. Am on the older side and very casual. At Level 200 FFS i just am not good enough. It's so frustrating. But your Vid explains His Moveset really good and i at least i know now in Theorie what shit he is doing in phase 2 lol. I get him down to 1/3 but then he gets me all the time. How i hate this Boss 😅🤣
Phase 2 is a dramatic increase in difficulty, I suggest trying to do phase 1 by yourself and in phase 2 try to find an opportunity to summon. if you did Ansbach's and Thiolliers questlines you can summon them before the door, but radahn will be buffed by 3x's health (for each person that crosses through the door his health will be multiplied and 3 is the max). In phase 2 I have a lot of trouble seeing as well, my best advice is try looking at his weapons, because they are the biggest part of his model. if you can keep getting him lower and lower for the more attempts that you do, that means you can do it. Show them who is the TRUE LORD!

How do you parse the difference between the L (fast) R (delay) attack and the 5 hit combo 2 P1? Every time he does the delayed one it gets me because I see it as the faster 5 hit combo. And then when I try to wait to see which, I get hit by the 5 hit combo because it seems too fast to wait
Ok seriously, how are you supposed to dodge the standing clone slash when you're not already clipping through him? I have used a shield, I got killed. I rolled into it, I got killed. I rolled away from it, I got killed. I tried to jump over it, I got killed. Do you just die if you're not up in his crotch when he starts the attack? Is there any reliable way to avoid getting destroyed by this move?
The main thing you want to avoid in this fight is running away. You'll notice a lot of his attacks will heavily punish distance. You should get into the habit of staying close to radahn most of the fight. The only two attacks you should run away from are Miquellas light and his Comet attack.
From my experience he shouldn't engage with you from afar with the standing clone slash.
Turning off the music also makes the fight so much easier because the fight feels so overwhelming to do but with the music off it’s not that bad
A lot of times, I just close my eyes in this fight and throw a hail mary hit, THE LIGHTING FUCKING SUCKS. It hurts my fucking eye. Anyway, I will follow this guide and see if I can yield better results than my usual over-leveling strategy.
You say you got clipped in second phase double slash but nothing happens to your HP bar.
The difficulty for me is to know which attack is he doing. Some of his attacks I can dodge already but other ones (especially 3 hit combs) I’m still struggling with
Istg no matter how many times I run to the right that stuoid ass slash in the air always ALWAYS catches me
The problem is I don't have enough react time , I can tell his moves but he just hit me before me rolling.
Great guide. I beat him when the DLC first came out with mimic and it took me forever. Recently did a new game plus and it took me less than 15 times with no mimic/summons lol. If anyone is still struggling I recommend being max scadutree level and having max lvl flask and just keep fighting him. Eventually you will beat him. This boss is a lot of RNG when it comes to the moves he does it really just comes down to luck and determination. I'm gonna new games plus again just to fight him and Malena again they are really fun fights.
