A swordfish in my mind is the greatest of gamefish to land. I remember seeing a large swordfish tied to the end of a fishing boat on the freeway in south OC, CA years ago on the freeway and thinking wow what an incredible catch. One time in Dana Point harbor I saw fisherman that had landed a 400+ pound swordfish and it was so impressive. I know that some fishermen used small airplanes to help them land these fish and I loved the idea of eating a locally caught billfish like this.
The trick to good Calimari is don't make rings. Soak in Buttermilk. Cut it and lay it flat. Pound it out like you would Abalone. The lightly bread it and fry. We call this Abalone Style.. Awsome!!

Hey Nick, another squid softener/ tenderiser is kiwi fruits, 🥝,,, been doing it for years, same story clean and cut the squid to cooking sizes, add like 2 kiwi per squid and leave overnight,,,,, then cook it gently like you are there, or on a hotplate lightly oiled, love ya video and well done to young maddy

Here in California m8ost of our bait caught swordfish come at 600 to 800 feet when there rereading on Humboldt squid I prefer to harpoon them when there up sleeping as we don't use electric reels and can't mix methods of take when commercial fishing them and the big ones are a little to sporty on rod and reel for my old body and there hard to bait on the surface any Wayne caught them on top down in Mexico due to the warmer water😅
Do you think on your quad 500's At full thodel, if the motors jetted inward like a pressure sprayer, you would get better performance Just a thought? Single motor guy.
I leave the rigging and engineering to the boat builder. I doubt it would make much of a difference since the quad boat already performs pretty well with the quad 300’s

Bait was still in good enough shape, the bonito strips are on of the most durable baits. It the leader was compromised Any worse than it was I would change it. Wedding is more import than a fishing trip for sure. Robb was one of the people who encouraged me to start a channel, appreciate you watching since then.
I keep saying it over and over again you need to get mike to make a channel for cooking. Wether its a sub channel or it's his own but he needs to do it.

If you'd fished Swordfish in 1976 and seen the size and abundance back then you wouldn't bother even trying for them now. So sad what that fishery has become. They were all caught at night back then, BTW.

The new 42 has the same 300’s as the last. Personally I would always choose reliability . Hope to have the walkthrough video up next week
