    Jesus man, this is really inspirational. I'm wanting to take on a long term project on building a long road trip and light overlanding rig to explore Australia and an ex-rental Hilux fleet vehicle is what I am looking at.

    • @RoamOverlanding
      @RoamOverlanding  7 месяцев назад

      Awesome to hear! Just be rigorous on the maintenance when you take the vehicle over, if you can’t afford to do basically a full front to back on maintenance on parts like balljoints, bushings, bearings etc; then maybe think about buying something that’s been driven around town mainly 🤙🏻 if the price difference on the rental vehicle means you can get all those done and you know you’re in a great spot going forward, otherwise these trucks are bulletproof

    1. The x-series tray system is it a standard tray system? Or do they design it on what you want.
    2. Also all your batteries and inverters and such did you buy this before hand or did bush tech themselfs offer you those options and you chose from them and they obviously did the design and layout with you for installation.?
    3. My most important question. I do not want to sound stupid, the suspension when I buy this bakkie stock standard I need to calculate the weight that I am going to be adding to the vehicle. Before I do the suspension? Because I am going to be doing the same build not please let me know.😅
    Please let me know I am starting my build soon need to get my facts straight.

    • @RoamOverlanding
      @RoamOverlanding  6 месяцев назад

      Hey Denver! The Xseries tray is a standardised product, Bushtech can offer and install all the Redarc 12V System components. Do you know how much it weighs fully loaded?

    • @RoamOverlanding
      @RoamOverlanding  8 месяцев назад

      I do, it weighs a lot! Because the tray has a lot more volume, you can pack it quite a lot heavier than normal. But I usually run between 3.4-3.6T I am sure I have taken it close to 4T at times for 2 weeks offgrid with extra water and fire wood etc. Im running suspension than can handle max 4.2T basically, so I still have safe performance at high weights.

      @@RoamOverlanding thanks for the reply. Why would you choose a Land Cruiser over a Hilux?

    • @RoamOverlanding
      @RoamOverlanding  8 месяцев назад +1

      @@howlinghoundphotography6108 For me personally I would look at it because you can get GVM upgrades to 4.2Ton, its got a more robust front suspension and driveline. The v8 for example has a huge amount of torque and can pull a 3.5T vehicle around much easier. There are a couple reasons, but I think the gap closes a bit when you look at the LC79 being a 2.8 Auto now. It mainly comes down to the load carrying capacity and the solid front axle. But the reality is, with the amount of km's I do offroad, either vehicle will need some series maintenance.
