In today's video, I explain why the overhead is one of the least practiced shots in tennis and how practicing the smash on the wall can provide great benefits.

This is great, I tried it a couple of times and it's really hard. But I suck at overheads and really need to do this regularly. The problem is I can't really get to a decent wall unless I want to hit against somebody's house :) The wall in this video is amazing, such a great "hole" with the side walls as well. Never seen anything like that designed for tennis. I guess America is much better for tennis wall lovers than Europe.

what an outstanding idea. A weak overhead corrodes your confidence in approach shots and volleys. May, as a bonus, improve my serve, becoming more appreciative of hitting from stationary position

I'm so jealous of all the tennis infrastructure you have in Florida ;( where I live, it's close to impossible to find a tennis wall for practice, and no free/public courts are available either

    Hi Nick,
Thanks for making these videos. Do you have insights on the backhand overhead/smash? I've tried some on the wall, but I feel like I'm about to hurt my wrist when I do them. Thank you again for all your help.

Great video, Nik! Thank you! My girlfriend sometimes has a little of shoulder pain when she tries to serve / do overheads.. what can cause this? Maybe the hitting/contact point is too far back? I know is hard to say or judge not seeing the actual movement, but wanted to know which are the possible causes.. thanks again for the amazing content!

Great video, I played against the wall from an early age. I have one idea for your next video, try record your self with left hand, it will be interesting to your viewers I think. Because you will still have all the knowledge, legs, reaction but you will not have coordination and flexibility and your followers will understand much better how important repetition is. I practiced a lot with the opposite hand to better understand my students..
