Smashing the ball using just the wrist with your backhand is one of the most difficult shots in tennis. Not just because it requires an incredible technical ability, but also because it's potentially very dangerous for your wrist and arm due to the snap you have to give to the ball to generate speed and give it the angle you want. Such a tough shot to master, and he's always done with the most nonchalant and casual magistry. Tells you how good he is.

That's what I like most about Federer. He wins points by hitting winners not waiting for opponent's unforced or forced errors.

Yes absolutely and that's why he is the greatest ever and no player can EVER match his greatness.. Just tell Novak or rafa to follow his playstyle and win atleast 1 slam 😂

@@vijayendranvijay4538 lifetime federer fan myself but that logic does not hold. No one else can play like novak or rafa either ( at their level). They are all great and different, and that's what made their matches even more exciting to watch.

Federer's backhand smash is so amazing. I have never seen anyone hit it so clean, also I believe that he has hit the most backhand smashes out of all the top players in the Open Era. Such a remarkable shot.

I was just going to ask whether the Fed has hit the most clean backhand smash winners in the Open Era (or in the game's history even). And my guess is that he has! And he's got variety in that too! Phew. I'll never tire of saying it: *the Fed is tennis incarnated.* A never-before-never-again phenomenon. 🙏

Roger is arguably the greatest overhead shot maker in tennis history! He's definitely the greatest at the backhand overhead, which most players on the tour couldn't/can't even utilize and execute properly anyway!

Man,look at those smashes.Federer's smashes were really an eyesight to watch. There is this smash of Federer I remember against Ferrero/Gonzalez (can't remember the opponent) where Federer was pushed way back behind the baseline but he managed to smash the ball to a winner.Tried searching for it,but in vain.If you get to find that one, upload it Raz.
Nowadays players forgot to end the point when getting an opportunity to smash.Rarely they play a good smash that end up a winner these days.Pathetic!

  • @jollymolly2521

For me it's as much about the footwork as it is the actual shot. You have to have some really quick feet to even get into position to hit these kinds of shots...which is why you don't see anyone else pulling this stuff off on a regular basis. Most players today have totally crappy footwork.

Per match winning numbers jokovich is better than federer . What counts are the winning numbers - who won more times against each other and it is very clear from that Data that Jokovich is the better player of those two . Sorry that is the truth . Jokovich is the no 1 player of all times .
I also would want it to be Federer but my simple logic tells me that Jokovich is no 1 by far .
