I’ve decided to end the hike. The forests are effectively closed and the services in towns may not be available. If something were to happen to me, emergency services would not be able to assist. I’m working my way home now.
I know you are really disappointed, but I think you’ve made a good decision. I was very concerned for you. Maybe you can finish the remainder this summer.

I’m ok. Spent a couple days in Hot Springs, am now back in Johnson City. But my hike is ended. Working my way home.
