What's the strum pattern?
He gives you a basic pattern in the beginning of the video. This song is one that changes patterns a few times to keep the song interesting. Just try to get the basic feel and groove of it. When you are playing songs like this the pattern doesn't have to be locked in stone. You will get it with practice
I wish he wouldn't say it's super easy...for guitarists whove had little experience..ITS NOT EASY...Hell he can't even play it perfect...
I know how you feel, I use to say the same thing. I have been playing for about 9 years but if you work at it just a little bit you will see great progress. I think Tom Petty has the best songs for a beginner/advanced beginner to work on and play. Because he has some of the easier songs to play he became a favorite of mine. I glad I was able to see him in Detroit a few months before he died. RIP Tom.
@@gunnerdee84 Ive been playing ..performing & Teaching for 40 years..my point above was ..When You're Speaking to the Masses of Guitarists , of Every Level...Be Careful using the phrase .."Easy"...it's demoralizing for the beginner..and any Guitarist that's been playing for quite awhile..knows there's plenty more to learn from song ..than what first is presented.
@@Keeferz4Keeperz good point. I'm 49 and I wished I had been playing as long as you. I started very late in life. Here is to the beginners and hoping they will press on.
