“Tim why did you make the iPad so thin”
“GOOOOOOD MORNANG”
For the skit, you should use a piece of paper representing the ipad, just put an apple logo on the back. 😂
Never understood why the skits in some videos. The message would go through without this obsession of amusing viewers. I don't need to be entetained. I need to hear some punchy opinions. ayway, the subject is right on target.
The new oled iPads are stronger than the old iPads due to the way it’s built. The logic board is in the center acting like a spine and it has an overall reinforced frame. So yes it’s thinner. But it’s also much stronger.
I keep waiting for someone to compare the iPad to Angela from the office.
iPad Pro? Where’s iPad Pro? Oh there it is, could see you being that grain of rice.
Boom roasted!
@@zachg3069 this wasn’t a roast 🤦♂️. It was a failed attempt at trying to sound intelligent.
@@racineurr.8924because tech reviewers who aren’t funny are boring as fuck and are just dweebs usually
I’m holding on to my 13mini for as long as I can.
If they made a PRO mini. that would be amazing
@@MCES10that will never happen.
@@davidjacobs6244 i know it is unfortunate
same bro, what's your remaining battery capacity %?
Same here.
I guarantee you in like three or four years they're going to make the edges round again. It's kind of obvious that they are running out of ideas on how to make these from different from one another. Because yearly releases doesn't make any sense for anyone other than the shareholders.
Round edges will never come back because they were from a time with bigger bezels and lower screen to body ratios. In this day and age, you need flat edges to maximize internal space and screen to body ratio. Round edges are just a waste of space.
“It’s the Steve Jobs era all over again” is so real 😂😂😂
I want my phone _smaller_ not thinner 🙄😂
This
I want it bigger and thinner (yet strong).
I want a mini sized iphone
Strangely enough that’s why I went with a fold 5. Small outside screen and big one when I want it
Man... I just want the mini to come back 😭
I’m borrowing an iPad Air for a project, and the iPad is thinner than my iPhone 15 pro max, but even back when the iPad 2 came out, it was thinner than the iPhone 4. The iPad is more spread out while the iPhone is condensed into a smaller unit.
I wish that iPhones would get smaller because I would like my phone to easily fit in my pocket.
I hate shopping. Just bring out like two models please. A big one and a mini. That’s it.
If they made a mini pro as an option of the lineup, I think that one would sell like hotcakes.
They will do it for the iphone 19 when they run out of options!
I’d honestly be mad if there were that many people that liked the mini form factor that didn’t buy it because they felt it was gimped compared to the pro versions.
I don’t know who mostly buy the iPads pro but I imagine many are in art and design and we always go for the bigger screen option.
I would buy a hole bunch of them. 120hz usb c and a good OS. Just what i want. Even of the battery isnt lasting through 20h of video playback.
just give us fking 120 hz and 8 gb ram under 700 eur 😅
Hear me out. Get rid of iPhone Pro models, and have a small, medium, and large iPhone with the Pro features. And ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS maintain feature parity (don't give the Max a better camera, etc.). If you want to keep the SE in the lineup, that's fine for the low budget market.
I like this idea. I miss the days where everyone had the same iphone
If they make a 7+ inch phone they needs to call it an iPad Nano. Because it’s an iPad at that point.
Here’s the thing I actually don’t care if they make the iPhone thinner because it’s made out of titanium it won’t bend. The iPad Pro while it surprise me how strong it is considering it’s only out of aluminum. I’m totally shocked they didn’t make the 13 inch iPad Pro out of titanium, especially since they won an extra $100 that seems like a pure cash grab compared to the air models, which only has the $200 price difference between the sizes.
They’re too wide. Don’t care about thick.
It really feels like they had to redesign the iPad so it could be “new” and they couldn’t do anything else
When I switched to iOS in 2022, I immediately noticed that the 13pro felt like a brick in hand compared to Samsung (though I'm not turning back, iOS is the way to go). To me, any change that makes the iPhone feel more nimble in hand - is welcome.
Mini best. That’s what I’m watching right now
My iPhone checklist:
*Battery last at least 24 hours
*OLED screen/120hz display
*LET ME ADD MORE THAN 5 ICONS TO DOCK (yes, I know you can use folders but that's and extra tap I don't want to bother with)
*No pill notch (not the biggest deal)
Just got a 13 mini a month ago and im loving it
Maybe “no one asked for a thinner iPad” but certainly I don’t want a thick & heavy iPad.
I think they might be out of new ideas
Tbh I think all phone companies are pretty much out of good ideas. These days it’s just battery/chip/camera upgrades
We need another Steve Jobs. Visionaries are scarce these days. Besides, most companies would rather settle for profit over innovation anyway.
@@broskibrobro1278Thank you for saying that. People always just dunks on Apple when literally every other company are also out of ideas since the smartphone has pretty much matured.
Every idea is new
Most logical next step for phones is foldables. Making iPhones bigger and bigger is such a weak Product design approach.
Give me an iPhone the size and thickness of an iPhone 6 with a 35mm equivalent single lens, no camera bump, all the latest tech and the best battery possible and I would be in heaven! 1080p screen would be just fine too.
Wasn't iphone 6 the whole bend gate era?
My thought is that I’m alright with a thinner phone w/ same battery, because then I can add a battery case that prolly doubles battery life and then isn’t SUPER thick. I like the idea of splitting the iPhone lineup into “slim” and “pro”. And then have an SE that’s cheaper than all the rest.
My dream phone would be a slim mini. It can live in a battery case that wouldn’t be too bulky, and I can take it out of the case whenever I want to drool over how smol it is.
About the iPad being thinner there’s actually a reason for that. To allow the new Magic Keyboard better weight distribution the iPad had to be made thinner and lighter so it wasn’t top heavy and wouldn’t flip. As the new Magic Keyboard allows the iPad to be bent further back. This design wouldn’t be possible if the iPad was as heavy and as thick as it was before.
Still wobbles a ton. Even more than the old ipad pro with magic keyboard
@@corey7219 yea but if it was the same weight as and thickness as the last one with this new Magic Keyboard it would be way worse
Opinion but I think this is good. Rn with the wider aspect ratios, bigger displays and being thicker they feel like bricks. Bring back apple design too. I feel like apple is trying too hard to compete with android and they're slowly becoming androids.
Realistically, the only way Apple would make a mini iPhone or even a "mini pro" Apple first needs to figure out how to make it have all day battery life, while also keeping thermals down.
People are willing to have a smaller form factor for those that already have a mac, or an iPad, or those that just talk and text. But they're put off with a reduced battery life compared to the regular iPhone.
I just hope we don’t have iPhone 6+ levels of bend gate again.
If the new pro max looks noticeably bigger to me in person, I won’t need to get an iPad after all.
Battery about to be 🗑️🚮 if so
Yes! This is great news, iPhone 7 was the perfect size (thickness wise) X/XS/11Pro height and width were the best dimensions. Personal opinion obviously
Here’s how I would do the iPhone lineup: iPhone (5.4 in display/“mini-esk”, iPhone Pro (6.1 in Display/current Pro), iPhone Ultra (7in Display/ The best with every new feature/overkill)
Yeah, I’m definitely guilty of loving larger screen sizes. Although I’m divided on weight management vs using the extra space for more battery.
Honestly, I would much rather have a slightly thicker iPhone to get rid of the camera bump. That, and making the backs plastic again to eliminate the need for cases that hide the colors of the iPhone.
If you put the camera in the middle, that puts it right behind the selfie camera, and I don't see how that would work space-wise.
If you make the iPhone much bigger, then it ends up replacing the iPad Mini.
If they want it to be much lighter, they should use magnesium rather than aluminium/titanium. Microsoft have used it in the Surface for a while and it feels great.
The pricing is wrong, not the sizing (or thinness). Make a 200-300 price gap between plus and pro models and you’ll see those sales boost up a bit.
Pro phone buyers will buy them regardless. Its the casual walk in the stores or buy them mid cycle ppl that buy the regular/plus model phones. They just see price tags and go “oh if its only a 100 more, might as well”
Love this channel. It’s like having your tech news read to you by Sterling Archer
Your opening segment was great! You hit the nail on the head with this! The thinness means all new accessories and Apple gets away with it because all the Apple worshipers don’t care about the cost of buying the new accessories Apple will keep doing this if nobody cares
They are going to add a capture button dispute already having 3 ways to aces the camera on the 15 Pro series. I think they ran out of ideas a while ago hence capture button, bigger screens, inner designs, etc
''guys we're encouraging apple's behavior here''
GEE YOU THINK ???
It's by no means a new Steve Jobs era - for that, we would need to see actual innovation at Apple again.
F this thinness fetish, give me more battery life
F this battery life obsession. I have 50% left at the end of day. I don't want to carry around a F-ing brick anymore. Make it thinner!
You said what I’ve been feeling for months. Spot on man! The iPhone 15 Pro (my current phone) is and will be one of the best phones for years to come. It will most likely be the last ever pro model with a 6.1 inch screen, and also the last *somewhat small* model with promotion technology, 3 cameras and usb-c.
PS. …… I am 1000% in with you if they bring pro features to the base versions by the 17. Just give me a big battery (at least 24 hour lifespan), 120hz, two excellent cameras, usb-c, and I’d be sold with that on a base model 17. The older I get, the more I realize that the only reason to upgrade yearly is to be ubiquitously influenced. I plan to keep my matte black 15 Pro 512gb until it either breaks or the battery fails, and I don’t see either happening for the foreseeable future!
8:53 I want an even bigger iPhone and an Apple Pencil for the iPhone… it doesn’t have to be stylus thin, I am ok with keeping it in my shirt’s pocket.
Looks like I’ll be waiting for the battery tests before updating.
Yes please! Thinner iPhones. My old 6S plus looks so slim and elegant.
There should just be a mini, regular, and plus sized version. None of this pro max and plus bs.
I hope they don’t make it thinner because the battery life is so bad already, if it gets thinner they don’t need to include a battery anymore because it wouldn’t make a difference
I want Apple to innovate and put the front camera/FaceID components under the display… Until then, I’m not spending over $500 on an iPhone!
I will use my iPhone 13 Mini until “the wheels come off”. That should answer your question in this video. My 13 Mini is the 4th iPhone I have owned in 11 years. By far it is the best one of all in every way.
I love me 15 plus, such an amazing battery life, honestly the only things missing are the pro motion and fast charging, as I switched to iPhone in 2021, and was quite used to both of these features, rest everything is amazing
Im gonna be that person hanging onto my 13 Mini in 2034
If you prefer small phones that’s good , personally I like the bigger size phones , I go against the grain , but I’d rather have a bigger wider thicker tall phone with all the bells and whistles, bigger easier to read and type on display, a chunky phone means less compromises in the hardware, better cameras , bigger better battery size , and a sturdy build .
Look at the new iPad , people would have been just as happy with the previous models slightly thicker girth , and Apple would have had an opportunity to put a bigger battery in, and that is always a crowd pleaser.
Alas , a completely different design, and maybe it is as robust as the old model, but it’s super thin form makes it harder to hang on to, especially for those of us with big mitts.
My little iPad Air 4 imo has the sweet spot for thickness. Too each his own, the thinner iPad makes me less likely to buy , that’s just me.
🤣🤣 Tim Cook is just stirring no cooking!
I wouldn’t mind having a thin iPhone so my pocket would bulgy every time I put it in there.
Also I can put it in my suit pocket when I’m wearing one.
I sure hope not. Because the iPhone is already thin as it is. I just want something that’s fast, and has a more intuitive iOS software.
When you think about the foldables and thinner phones or tablets it kind of make sense from Apple to make these thinner...
For example if this is the thinnest Ipad and then we get a thinner Iphone, and since foldables usually look like two phones stacked when closed, It is possible for them to make a foldable ipad or iphone that is very thin as a foldable with decent battery life for a foldable from the start of their line-up
Introducing the new iPhone 20, only 1mm thick
Came here just for the GOOD MORNANG.
God please no I want my 8mm thick, no camera bump, battery monster
Actually, Magnesium(-oxide) would be the lightest. Sony had a Magnesium DiscMan back in the day... 👴🏻
Agreed about phones getting bigger. I pulled the trigger on my first Pro Max with the 15 series because it was actually smaller width-wise than the 14 Pro Max.
Everyone has a preference and that’s fine , I’m the opposite, the wider the better and bigger overall too , narrow screens make low ceiling in landscape and also make keyboards with tiny keys which is just painful if you have chunky fingers or big hands .
Ideally it would be good if they made more variations so everyone can be happy .
I urge all iPhone owners to move to the Fibonacci upgrade cycle immediately. Anyone with an iPhone 13 and wait for the next Fibonacci number, the iPhone 21. That way: you get to skip all this thinner is better madness and the bigger is better madness. My girlfriend says 6.7 inches is the most she can handle and that it's difficult to slide it around in your hand if it's too thin without risk of permanently bending it when you accidentally wobble it in your hand as its slick with sweat and essential spice melange.
iPhone Razor Blade edition anyone? 7" iPhone is getting into iPad Mini territory.
Ipad mini with the phone app coming at wwdc
A man can dream…. A man can dream….
I have the 14 Pro Max. I stopped in the Verizon store a week ago and looked at the S24 Ultra and the 15 series. I was impressed by both. I liked the 15 Plus as it felt great in the hand and was so much lighter than my beast. I agree with you on the price though. Lower both regular 15's by $100. Of course, they want people to go with the Pro's rather than the base so I won't hold my breath on them doing that.
Apple's whole lineup smells of Greed instead of actually making a decent product at a reasonable price
If they make it thin again, they will make it think again to sell you some old as new and I’m going to buy it 🤷🏾♂️
True true
Last Gen iPad 13 inch felt heavy tbh. My new m4 is awesome feels lighter and easier to hold for longer times
I just got a 14 Pro Max and I don't like it, it is too big and too heavy. I really wanted a Mini but they are already two generations behind, soon to be three and I am starting to think about dropping out and just getting an old flip phone..
I just want them to remove the camera bump. Like th days of the iPhone 4 & 5! So good!
seems like they have no intention of trying to get you better battery life. They commit to thinness a while ago, so this phase probably will go through a few product lines.
Slap a OC A18 snd 16 gigs. Big battery too. Needs a hdmi to desktop mode
16 gigs of what? Of ram?
Another brand perhaps 🤷♂️ it's already been done
I actually welcome thinner phones, god knows Samsung also needs to make their phones thinner.
It’s time for a flip iPhone
They need to bring the Product Red color back
Apple should make the regular iPhone and pro size 5.8”, then have the plus and pro max being 6.3”. Then they should make a separate Ultra iPhone at 6.9” with all the expensive features
This way they can do smaller phone whilst still charging $999 and giving people a massive option that’s really expensivr
Oh come a Scarlett Johannson Siri voice would be great
They should bring back the iPhone mini.
Another Apple downgrade program is around the corner
The iPhone air might not be as dead of a concept as we thought 😂
EU should mandate making phones as thick as their camera bumps. Absolutely insane thing to mandate but I want it so I'm down.
I just want another mini sized iPhone. Hoping the next SE uses iPhone 12 or 13 mini hardware.
What about foldables…..
strapped for content i see 🤣
It’s all fake untill the camera bump is gone. Smooth back for wireless charging to prevent overheating.
Scarlett Johansson shud really be a choice in AI voices😂
No, this is the TIM COOK era
imagine apple calling it the iphone slim instead of iphone air 😭😭
I stopping at the 12 Mini. No interest in phones unless they make a small one again. Tim has to go.
My iPhone already suffers from overheating issues. They want to make it worse? Lol
Im using 13 PM. There is no reason to have a bigger screen than that
And here am I using my iPhone with a MagSafe battery, a wallet AND a MagSafe ring on top lol yeah I did a sandwich of MagSafes and love the thiiiick iPhone, SO much more comfortable
Apple should have keep the Pros Thicker, not Thinner
I want it bigger with an Apple Pencil to fill the gap
With the iPad mini
😂 for real though, there’s benefit to getting a thinner and lighter iPhone
Im sick of this thin shit we need a thicker phone for a better battery im with it
