ℹ️ Serves 4
🥣 Ingredients:
14oz | 400g | 1 block firm tofu
4oz | 130g | 1 small potato
3tbsp brown rice flour or any flour of your choice
1oz | 40g | 3/4 cup grated carrot
2tbsp chopped green onion
1 garlic clove
Seasonings:
1/4tsp chilli flakes
2oz | 60g | 1 cup breadcrumbs or chickpea crumbs
salt to taste
🥣 Dip sauce ingredients:
1oz | 30g | 1/2 cup parsley
1tbsp lemon juice
4oz | 115g | 1/2 cup vegan mayonnaise
black pepper
🧑🍳Cooking tips:
❗You may need to press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess water.
❗Feel free to add your favourite herbs and spices to the recipe to get your favorite flavour.
❗ For the patties to hold together place patties mixture in to the fridge for 15-30 minutes. It works miracles and you do not need a binder 😊

All you need to do is us google and you will find recipes for nearly every dish that exists, booklets soooo out of date.
@@SusanneUnwin I love books, personally. Nothing wrong with googling, but books pay the actual creator of the recipe as opposed to google stolen recipes.

Looks sooo good! I ate mostly vegan and at times, vegetarian, for years until I developed both Type II Diabetes and kidney disease. Turns out a little of the veggies I ate had to much in the way of carbs spiking my blood sugar as well as far to much protein, potassium and phosphorus which were causing more kidney damage. I had no idea at the time that some of the same nutrients that are good for your body, may be bad for you once you develop these diseases… I never would have thought that something like spinach, chard and kale could become a detriment in this situation. I am grateful for cauliflower and on occasion, turnips to take the place of various higher carb and/or starchy vegetables. I have even used it to replace breadcrumbs once I’m able to get muck of the moisture out of it. I plan to see how a dehydrator will work on cauliflower as well.
I do use tofu on occasion, but not nearly as often as I’m now finding it not the best for my kidney situation. Funny… I could have never imagined this happening as I felt I was eating a Healthy diet, which it truly is, if you don’t have these two conditions. Nevertheless, I am making this one for friends and family… Yum!

You've done so many great pattie recipes. Do you think they would generally freeze ok? I have dreams of spending a day prepping dozens of different patties from your channel and freezing them down, so I always have something quick and tasty to cook on lazy days. I guess I'm thinking could I make the mixtures, pop it in the fridge to firm up, shape the patties then freeze them down? Then I'd just need to grab as many as I want in the day, let them defrost then fry them off for dinner.

However, tofu is an excellent absorber of flavors, which makes it a favorite for anyone who knows their way around a kitchen. When prepared correctly, tofu can be savory, sweet, crunchy, or soft. You could always try adding some initiative, with pinch of imagination. That would make a meal. Well, I can see you prefer it bitter.:) relax
I'm making them a little bigger and having them as burgers with the green sauce as dressing, along with some baby spinach or lettuce, tomato slices, maybe sliced pickles or pickled banana peppers (pepperoncini if more heat is desired)
(Note: I'm also making spelt/potato buns, I'll use some of the potato cooking water in the buns, too)
Now that's a meal!
My favourite part of your channel is Lancy however your recipes run a close second. This recipe is also great if baked.
That's what i wanted to ask, as i don't use oil for cooking, baking is the only option.
