The Weakest Characters In Gaming Ever # 8 - Peeper

- The eighth episode.
Over the years, there have been some laughably weak main characters starring in video games, characters who you're almost embarrassed to be controlling. In this series, I'll show footage of these characters' greatest feats of "power". Wario and Kirby need not apply.
Another enemy is featured this time, and it isn't just unbelievably weak that it makes Toad Man look like a hard case, it's actually a huge help for the player.
Perhaps the Peepers, already on their last legs after a year of Kefka's reign, are fully aware of the situation and are willingly sacrificing the species as a whole to help the party get powerful equipment.

Truly, they're the real heroes here
The real mvp’s of the journey man. What would I do without them???
All x1 and arguably x2 esper spells, white wind and most importantly cursed shield all done from peeper fighting.
I pretty much 100%’ed the game already, I have the full bestiary and everything, every character is level 99 and has every single magic skill learned (im that sad ik but I also did a similar feat in ff5) and I believe I killed around 2k or more of them.

Dark Force: "Fear me! I am powerful! FEAR M-"
*Celes slices Dark Force*
*Dark Force is ded*
*You win!*
*I press the staples "EASY" button*
*That was easy.*
It's a wonder how they even manage to become adults without dieing
Angelicevil Leader Of The Crimson army Simple. They grew up before your party completes the Floating Continent.
Or they're really effective breeders
I think it’s just meant to show that they can’t survive anymore, they’re all dying away after the world ended.
"Honestly, even Jogurt is a badass compared to this things..." I lol'd
The non-world-of-ruin version of Peepers, Rhodox, is also of of Gau's best rages, because, for some reason, it lets Gau cast Snare - basically Doom, but also prevents counterattacks. It's basically all you need to use against Intangirs in versions with the vanish doom bug.
you forgot something important. white wind heals the amount of hp of the user so they would heal 1 hp and a healing spell is useless due to their maxinum hp
Its like shedinja knowing rest!
The only status ailment that'll get cured is paralysis. and even then, your asleep for 2 turns, wide open to switch and then one flamethrower or shadow ball later, ya be dead!
Spindan yeah
Spindan shedinja using rest wouldn’t even work, iirc you can’t use it unless you’ve lost health
Jake Lang you get the point though
@@MF-Spiffylad Why would anyone paralyze a Shedinja in the first place?
It's great to see weak enemies like that help you out on your adventure, especially in other games.
thank you very much for the tip for the cursed shield, i didn't know that.
Developers like to do that sometimes. Like with Magikarp (lol, I saw an article a couple days ago where a guy apparently thought that Magikarp evolving into Gyarados was a big secret that no one knew about because he never bothered evolving it), or with that wooden sword in Ninja Gaiden.
....Are you kidding me? Wow, dev team must have been bored.
I've been disabling ratings for over two years now. When is everyone just going to accept that?
Either the dvelopers didn't think this through... or they actually did.
Either way, it's an amazing example of meta-gaming, even for a Final Fantasy game. ^^
Definitely the GBA remake. The PS1 version has the same weird translation as the SNES version, with painfully slow loading times to boot. The GBA version is my favourite version of the game.
Well Peepers are ok if you want to farm Elixirs for some reason
Elixirs are fairly useful.
But Contaminated sand rays gives you not just elixirs tho!!!!!
Hey I have an idea for a new series! How about a "The Most Useful/Helpful Characters in Gaming Ever" series? This video would be a good start for it since it focuses more on how useful Peepers can be. You should also make a "The Most Useless/Unhelpful Characters in Gaming Ever" series. You can start off with Navi from Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
actualy, she is the one that allow Z-targeting sooo, navi is off the hook
There's a huge difference between annoying and useless. Navi and Tatl can be annoying, but they give helpful advice to the player and point them towards the right direction through the game.
Useless would be something like a tutorial that gives the wrong advice or a character that gives an item that sounds helpful, but is in reality, literally useless due to how bad it is.
Vivian Sutton *cough* *cough* topmanbesidesthefinaboss *cough*
+dockside2012 Navi? I think you mean Fi. Navi literally is the Z-Targeting reticle, Fi isn't. Navi has actually helped me when I got stuck once. Fi just continues to point out things I can very plainly see:
Me playing Skyward Sword with low health: *beep beep beep* "Damnit, where are the hearts?"
Fi's indicator starts flashing. I press down on the control pad.
Fi: "Your health appears to be low-" Me: "YES, I CAN VERY CLEARLY HEAR THE OBNOXIOUS BEEPING, THANK YOU."
+Bobby & Fluffy Alright alright I'll cut Navi some slack. At least she did gave hints on how to kill certain enemies. Besides, I think Dragon Quest 8's Prince Charmles would be a MUCH better candidate for useless character! Would you agree?
That's the maximum programming number for 8-bit.
I've played FF6 sooooo many times and remember the Peepers quite well. I would've also mentioned the Land Rays (whom are equally as weak) and talked about the two good lores you can learn from the two enemies: White Wind (which you mentioned, but didn't describe) and Mighty Guard.
I believe there are other 1hp enemies in the small desert on that island from which you can actually steal Megalixirs from. Don't remember their stats, though.
Jeepers, The Peepers look like they lost their way to a Pokemon audition...
On my book the weakest character in gaming ever is the final boss in Incredible Hulk for the Master System (and Sega Genesis, and Super Nintendo I think).
Ever wonder why in EVERY videogame there is somthing related to 255 or 256?
.. Damn thats the same amount of bullets you get in NT.. Must be a...
G A M E T H E O R Y
Because they're values stored in a single byte of data.
One byte of data consists of 8 binary bits
( 11111111 ) which converted to the decimal system, equate to 255.
One byte can store a value ranging from 0 to 255. Games where a 256 value appears consider 0 as the first value ( or "number 1")
This is like fighting the first enemy in an RPG endgame and gaining the final level possible from it
maybe they're so weak because they're stuck on a dessicated island?
Reminds me of that one episode of south park where the boys grinded like a million boars in warcraft
When I was younger and first playing FF6 I'd grind like crazy with Terra in that first cave just because it was easy. It took me years to realize the negative effect of leveling up without esper bonuses.
Might do, but I prefer to make subtitles over voiceovers. I want the video itself to be the star, not me.
The sting rays enemies, I believe. Unfortunately, you also fight Black Dragon enemies in the desert, which are kinda strong, and Megalixirs aren't actually as useful for getting stuff in the colosseum. (Betting them pits you against the extremely powerful Siegfried clone I mentioned in the video)
great video.
It's amazing how you explore and try to fit everything togeter in the game :3
Even tought I don't play or never played most games you show, it is still cool to watch
I find it funny how as soon as you said "Of course, if you have the paladin Shield equipped, it will give you a huge advantage.", you immediately lost 20 MP due to Runic getting screwed over by the shield's elemental absorption, heh. Oh, RPG mechanics and their insanity...especially in this place where you can't even control your characters (aside perhaps from giving Gogo, like, three Fight/Attack commands or something).
Peepers are a variant of Mu, one of THE most known Final Fantasy monsters.
I see it as a reward for knowing the game well.
yay! I love these series you have!
They look cute.
I slowed down the beging and i heard i need a hero
In the first few episodes of this series, Git had the thing at normal speed, but here and further he sped the whole thing up, presumably because people got tired of such a long intro.
Just fight 255 peeper battles! BOOM PALADIN SHIELD!
This was released on my B-day!!
even this is late but noticed it now WOOTWOOT
I fail to see how owning a magic sword that can illuminate weak spots is a bad thing
What about your own weak spots too
Gamble a Megalixir at the collosseum. Be warned, he can be difficult to beat, no matter how strong your character is.
For some odd reason I've just noticed that.. You should allow ratings because your one of my favorite youtubers and I don't know why people would hate on your videos!
Lol. Didn't even know that cute little guy. Off to play FF VI!
It's an intentional gag enemy...
*that has ELIXIRS AS A STEAL*
So it's meant to be that difficult and have you just ignore its existence.
There is a somewhat reliable trick to beating Fiend Dragon and farm Miracle Shoes via Rename Cards. It requires the following setup:
Either Mog or Edgar.
Edgar with:
Holy Lance
Flame Shield
Royal Crown
Red Jacket
Mog with:
Holy Lance
Flame Shield
Genji Helm
Snow Scarf
Both with:
Dragon Horn
Dragoon Boots
Fiend Dragon is weak to Holy, so Holy Lance will deal a ton of damage. Flame Shield absorbs Southern Cross, a Fire-elemental attack; Northern Cross is just a chance to freeze you and prevent you from acting, and Southern Cross will thaw you out and heal you; and it has Heartless Angel, which sets your HP to 1.
Edgar can be taken out with a combination of Heartless Angel and then a physical attack; Mog's setup should give him 255 Defense, so if he's in the back row, he's completely impossible for Fiend Dragon to kill, as he takes 0 damage from physical attacks that don't pierce Defense in such a situation.
Two enemies came to mind when I saw FFIV pop up, and I was almost certain it would be the Peepers!
Loved the vid!
Yeah probably they were designed like that because such weak enemies could prove useful to the players. But it's also true that they are located in a dying island, so...
The Tintinnabulum relic, only it's a much harder way to win one than betting the Miracle Shoes. Funny how the Megalixir is nowhere near as useful for the collosseum as a Elxir.
A little while back, I accidentally left ratings on for a video. It got 2 likes and 1 dislike, when someone openly said they disliked the video to balance the ratings out. If people aren't going to use ratings like they should, I won't give them the option.
What the hell are those things supposed to be, a cross between a mouse and a scorpion?
but when Celes find hope to keep looking for Locke is when you will start to fight "healthy" monsters again, so yeah, peepers are there just for decoration
Nice Bonnie Tyler reference at thw start.
those stats and at level 23 thats amazing
(in a bad way
OMG the grind for the paladin shield was so long... so many hours...
There are a few reasons why I do it. There are plenty of videos I've enjoyed that had far more dislikes than likes, it's hardly representative of the quality, plus sometimes I got dislikes without a comment letting me know what I'd done that was so wrong, I'm not going to give people who do that ANY leeway. It also stops the annoying "The five users who disliked this video are Peepers" comments.
they are there just to show how decaying and dead the world has became
I wonder if you can get White Wind as blue magic from these guys since it is blue magic in most of the games.
i know i am like 6 years later but no you can't
they not have enough mp to cast it so even if you stop then and control then with relm it would not make any difference
@@RaphielShiraha64 i am 1 year late but what if you gave them an ether?
For some reason Sabin cannot suplex them
I have 1 question for you. Which do you perfer: the PS1 remake or the GBA remake?
Just asking, is Matthis/Machis/Red-haired-cavalier-bastard-who-kills-his-sister-without-knowing-it's-her the weakest character in the Fire Emblem series? If not, who would it be?
Great vid as always.
imagine having this guy be in your team lmao
Wander from Shadow of the Colossus should be in this series. He can't do anything without it being incredibly delayed, slow, and painful to watch.
I always use Peepers to uncurse the Cursed Shield.
Did you compare a mouse to a dinosaur, seriously? XD
Still I always did love those exploiting those mousey bastards. XP
just out of curiosity, will you do a voice-over version of this, or you have already scrapped that idea?
He can handle being stepped on (in normal) but the sword is magic so I think he loses some points there :P
Considering he has to kill 16 colossi alone with only a dinky sword, a bow and his horse, I wouldn't exactly expect him to be Sonic the Hedgehog in terms of speed.I mean, that shit's tough to do alone! Besides, he's not THAT weak. He takes falls and being stepped on pretty well actually.
2:16
in my opinion, that was pathetic
How can a Peeper's attack deal 21 damage if their Attack stat is only 7?
SҬДLЇИ ДPPЯФVЄD *x files theme begins to play
You can exploit in FF8 too with Triple Triad and Magic Refining.
Too bad this monster has not a stronger version like the Nutkin.
I bet the cursed shield because I didn't know that if I bet something I lost it too even if I won my logic it didn't work
6:17 (Ps: This is in my Playthrough of FF6 Advance.)
Fiend Dragon: _Hahahaha, you fool! You can't defeat me!_
Locke: _Uses Ultima plus Master Scroll + Genji Glove combo!_
Fiend Dragon Fainted! _He Was The Fool!_
you will notice the game aged harshly, but if you get past the beginning I garantee you will enjoy it to the end
FF4 is better to me, though
Sap is a bit like shedinga using final gambit
What's the music that plays at 2:30?
i think thats the moogles theme from ff6... or mogs theme, something like that.
Darude-Sandstorm
Shadow Knight Of Light Yeah, sure it is...
It's a theme from FF6 called "What?" (No, I'm serious). It plays whenever something strange happens.
+A Person Most probably you know it already, but in FF6 Mobile this theme is called: "What?" Just remember the ship scene at night...
4:45 Mindprick?
i use that charm to get to the top of the that tower to save mp, then felt guilty for cheating and reset the game, dumb move?
Yeh I tried FF6 last year after hearing the hype for it but wasn't very impressed.
wait a minute... painterly pack... minecraft... rhodox... peeper?
yay more weakest characters
Also the comments who beg for thumbs up. Look, It's your choice anyway! I would give this 100 likes if I could! Keep it up man :)
Lol Fiend Dragon 6:07 Here comes an attack at... *FULL POWERRR!!!* 6:14 (Miss) *Celes* ( *Troll Face* ) Fiend Dragon: *Screw That!!* >:(, :P heh No nobody awww! 😒 Update: Ok 1 Like
