@@smoothwaffle8047 right, he's still lying (possibly to improve his PR). The main factual gap here is that:
      1. He admits sending an innocent man to jail (that's a postive)
      2. He doesn't confess planting drugs on him (because he can't be innocent if he indeed had drugs).
      3. Anyhow, it's work in progress. Hope he completely comes clean in the future. Or maybe he's (truely repentant but..) afraid of felony charges if he publicly confessed planting drugs.

I noticed that. First, he said that he lied on him because he wasn't going to let any of this stop him from being the top cop and was willing to lie and used this innocent black man to advance his career. However, his story changed when he came to the show. I see no genuine remorse whatsoever. I feel sorry for the black man.

    • @saraabraham1104
      @saraabraham1104 4 года назад +6

@@ErinMarieHogan who wrote the lie on the report? The cop.
Why did he say he lied? According to his own words, to advance his career. You said, he didn't lie at first and that he wrote it later on the report. So that makes it even worst because he had a chance to think and do the right thing which in this case not give a falsified evidence to stop the unjust conviction.
If we're willing to be part of the solution for this kind of inhumane acts, then we must call it out for what it is. The cop lied on purpose for his own advantages and as a result three years of this innocent man's life was wasted in prison.

I've read the book and met both Jameel and Andrew. They are both amazing genuine people. I wouldn't say after reading the book that "redemption" came easy. Andrew had to work hard to build all the trust that he lost. When Andrew was convicted and arrested, the story went big in our community (I live in St. Joseph, the town across from Benton Harbour). People were mad, and they had every right to be so. Andrew spent his ttime. As he said once he got out, he started going to church. God was working on both of the men. God had developed them enough that when they met, Jameel was able to let it go for the moment. Later they worked together and forgave each other. They both wrote a bbook and Andrew now works for a company that helps at-risk youth. Once a week at my High School Andrew comes and hands out McDonald's for free to kids. I truly believe he has turned his life around, and I can see the fruits of it.

It's upsetting how easily redemption has come for this ex-cop, and how this is being celebrated on Megyn Kelly. While it is hard to put into words why this isn't a feel-good story for me, it's not. I respect their friendship, I honor Jameel's (and Andrew's) experience, but am not interested in their book.

    • @michelleannor6944

Jameel should have written the book alone. The cop coo co-opted into the friendships to
      + Not get sued
+ Profit from Jameel's trauma as much as Jameel
+ Ensure he has some input into the narrative
+ Ensure it sounds like a feel good story or redemption and not a racial police injustice story.

Most cops would never admit to any of their misdeeds (even when they get busted).

Singer i agree 80 percent. But i do believe there are a few good white cops as well. I have experienced them. And experienced evil ones. But i cant say that every white cop is evil.

Mary Preston I am a big supporter of members of law enforcement that follow rules and the law.
Unfortunately we have too many crooked ones that ruin it for the good and ethical ones.

I believe everyone deserves a second chance at life even the cop because he admitted to what he did and that speaks volume it really does how many people do you know would come clean to something cause I haven’t met many I would trust the Ex-Cop more than I would trust the people I’ve met through my life and I don’t hate those people either.

Joe T why? It’s the black man’s fault for being friends with the cop who imprisoned him and CHOOSING to appear on her show. It’s HIS FAULT, not Kelly’s.

@@unknownunknowns - So Naiz she got fired last month over the blackface Halloween costume sh*t. A true Trump- butt-kisser. Even FOX doesn't want her back. But she will be paid the full 69m$ for the 3 years contract. Not bad hey...

Sher Lizz She comes off as a winner because she doesn’t have to work while the other hosts who hated her have to work for less. Oh well I guess.

This brought tears to my eyes bcuz it's such a common story for people of color🥺😔 However, I commend this brother for his strength and will to carry on after everything he lost @for something he was innocent of. Just keep all of us lifted in prayer and pray corporately for all the other atrocious, unjust, horrible untold stories yet to be told (if ever told) worldwide out there.

Michigan has no Wrongful conviction compensation statutes. Jameel most likely did not get any compensation for being in prison for 3 years. The book deal maybe a way of getting him money. I hope Andrew, The Bad Cop, did not get any residuals from the book.
