I am currently building a B-29 model. Great job and detail. Hope mine is almost as good! My father was a ground crew chief on this plane and I heard many stories, so it has personal meaning to me. I even saw one (Fifi) take off and land 3 years ago.
3rd attempt at a model airplane and he does a massive silver B-29. Well done sir very well done indeed. I've been modeling for over 30yrs and your B-29 impressed me. Silver paint schemes can be very intimadating even for experienced modelers. The only mistake I spotted was the port wing National insignia it upside down but that's easy to correct. I've built the 1/48 B-29 a few times and my 1st attempt looked awful. You have the touch for modelling and I hope you continue as your work proves your going to do very well.
What a genius idea to use the motors of a drone!!! This plane is my favorite bomber. You guys captured the look of it perfectly. I can't wait to build up my skills to do this model with P-51 Mustang(s) escorting it. Very inspiring video. Thanks :-)
It's a 1/48 scale kit. And it's an old kit from the late 80s or 90s. I had the b36 peacemaker 1/48 scale. Now that was even larger. Built it with my dad ! Good memories ! Very nice kit. Job well done.
I’m getting ready to build a B29 out of stainless steel or aluminum. I have not decided which yet. It’s going to be 14 foot long with a wing span of 23 feet. It’s going to be a kinetic sculpture on a pole where the plane turns into the wind and the propellers turn. I got plans in the mail for it last week and I’m just starting to order all the parts I need. It’s going to be amazing I hope. I plan on putting it on RUclips during the process or after it’s done.
Don't worry about the port wing decal or the gun turrets, every one of us made mistakes as we gained experience, what is important is that it was a father and son project, so you and your son should be proud of your effort.
Beautiful work, buddy. I had a feeling you’d display the bombs as though they were falling. I was planning on doing that with the last B-17 that I built, but elected not to as I didn’t want to ruin the aircraft when cutting open the bomb bay doors. I’m currently working on a 48 scale D model Liberator so maybe I’ll give it a go on that. Keep up the great work. Cheers
Great model, congratulations, this is a very beautiful scale plane, little tiny engines give it a realistic shape and looks like if it will take off and flight, bombing your room. Congratulations!!!!
Remember that this model came out in 1977, long before CAD/CAM processes and laser scanning of the real thing. From when Monogram was the King of Plastics.....
Nice job. I have one comment that is critical of your finished model and that is if you look at the upper side of the left wing, the star and bar insignia is reversed to what it should be.
A truly beautiful model. Fantastic workmanship with only one flaw. Look at the stars & bars on the upper port wing. You won't be happy when you figure it out.
I hear ya bud, I am currently working on this same model with lights and engines. what a pain in the A**. One question? did your model say it had blue lights on the top of the wings? mine does, and the only explanation is they must have been formation lights...
awesome, did one myself and also put lights and motor for the propellers the 2 differences that I did was I made a control box so I could start each engine one at a time and the other was that I did not glue the halves together so you can see the inside. It's a shame of doing all that interior detailing and then not be able to see it.
The Enola Gay WAS the atomic version and the kit needs even more modification than the instructions say, the covers were completely flush with the hull.
Very nice, but way too big - hell, a 1/72 of that thing is well enough. Instead of messing with masking liquidon bonding surfaces, I would recommend using acetone (nail polish remover without oil) - it sets harder, directly and it also eats through paint like its not even there. Not gonna lie - the last 3-4 models I've built has been with remover instead of TETC.
Very nice build. I have no doubt with your skill you can lightly sand of the port star and repaint and reapply a replacement star decal. I wouldn't worry about it if the model turned out badly but yours is quite nice and worth the effort. Your not the first nor will you be the last to goof up a decal orientation.
Thank you so much! Actually, I rechecked the manual from you guys' advices... and then I realized.. the manual was wrong. I've just followed the illustration of the manual. of course, that's my fault, I didn't recognized that miss until you guys advices. ^^;;; Thank you a lot.
Hello Sir, My name is Allan and I just want to say you did a fantastic job on your kit. How do you run your engines while In the flight mode? I'm sure building this kit must have been very challenging for you especially when you turned the engines from static to running. Do you think in the very near future you could please build another B-29, but this time could you do it in detail showing the building of the kit step-by-step, but please no high speed segments. Also how did you make the bombs drop? Thank you for your time in answering my questions and comments. Sincerely Allan
Thank you Allan. The sacrificed drone has a remote controller. There is a rechargable battery and a signal receive unit in bomb chamber of the plane. Turn on the switch, the lights are on, and move the sticks of a re-mote, motors start to turn. In order not to melt the axis of propellers, I have to turn it off quickly. ^^;;; I used silicon sprary for lube, but it can not hold long. Oh! the bombs! You know I made holes on bombs. And I filled the paste in them with syringe through the holes for weight. It was a silly work. I should have done this with clay or something before assembling. Thank you again!

Because the electronic circuits for the detonators for the atomic bomb needs some space the technicians removed the turrets. So also the total weight for the "Enola Gay" without an atomic bomb was a little less than the Original. In flight to Hiroshima the Pilot Paul Tibbetts must fly a very hard curve, after the Bomb was dropped. A lighter plane can fly a hard curve without the danger to destroy the structure of the wings...
Sungdong Cho remember the single point of the star points to the leading edge of the wing and the other side two points point to the exit edge of the wing ALLWAYS in every american plane
The word that comes to mind after watching this video is....BRILLIANT & thank you so much for allowing me & many others to view it 😊
I am currently building a B-29 model. Great job and detail. Hope mine is almost as good!
My father was a ground crew chief on this plane and I heard many stories, so it has personal meaning to me. I even saw one (Fifi) take off and land 3 years ago.
Where did you get the kit?
@@venteach.6289 My daughter bought it for me, probably on internet. I will find out and let you know.

This is my favorite, too. Thank you. Show me your work, please!
Awesome guys. You really took it a step further with the motors. Detail is amazing. Best 30 days you spent.
Outstanding video and presentation.
Wonderful job, and what makes it really special is that you shared it with your son.
Yes, right. It was a special memory for us.
Thank you!
This is awesome and I love all the crew hanging around the parts
The crews were so busy for the work! : )
I enjoyed that. Thank you.
Absolutely amazing. Going beyond a static display is just stunning
Thank you so much!
Fantastic regular model build, but then you go far beyond with the lights and working engines. Phenomenal! Bill
Went too far...
Thank you !
Well done, enjoyed the music and the family time too! Again, well done.
Thank you so much! I really enjoyed it too.
Awesome job. Ive been working on a B-17G Flying Fortress. Again awesome job

Good job! It looks amazing! Nice touch on the motorized propellers!
Wow! Very nice! That's an awesome project, looks like you had some mighty fine help! Keep up the good work!
Thak you so much!

Nice video. Well done easy to follow, excellent build.
Thank you. I enjoyed it!
Great job on the build! Electrics give it life. Makes me want to finish mine after 16 years. Bunyip..
thank you.
good luck!
Very well done (the plane AND the video).
OUTSTANDING job on a difficult model to build. I have two of them, one U.S. made and one made in Germany, can't wait to start my premium version.
Your son is adorable! Nice job on the model, I built this a few years ago for my dad, what a chore.
Thank you so much!
Yes, it was a big project.... ^^;;;
Very nice build, thank you for sharing your passion.
My pleasure! Thank you!

Try that! and show me yours!
Cheers !!!
great job, cherish the moments!
Thank you!
Nice work. This and the Lancaster are my two favourite bombers.
:)
Great video and excellent model.
Thank you.
Beautiful work. So crisp and clean.
thank you : )
Awesome job. Makes me want to build one. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Show me your one next time!
great job,..... you should be very proud as so to your hard work
should i ? : ) thank you !
Wow I'm amazed how you got the props to spin and the lights to light up!
Thanks for sacrifice of my little drone...
Thank you. ^^
Very nice but with a little weathering it would be awesome
Awesome! You did it great! Enjoy it.
Just bought this kit on ebay.
Looks great.
Good jorb.
😉
Thank you. Have a good time!
Really fantastic job on building that B-29 model however the Enola Gay did not have turrets only tail guns
Great model, congratulations, this is a very beautiful scale plane, little tiny engines give it a realistic shape and looks like if it will take off and flight, bombing your room. Congratulations!!!!
thank you so much!
Great job!
nicely done bro for an old kit this kit is quite good and can you tell me where you got the figures in 0:26 it would be really aprecciated
Beautiful build! Pilots loved it, enemies feared it.
the legend!
Nice job!
Remember that this model came out in 1977, long before CAD/CAM processes and laser scanning of the real thing.
From when Monogram was the King of Plastics.....
Awesome and Superb < I am lost for words >
Nice job. I have one comment that is critical of your finished model and that is if you look at the upper side of the left wing, the star and bar insignia is reversed to what it should be.
A truly beautiful model. Fantastic workmanship with only one flaw. Look at the stars & bars on the upper port wing. You won't be happy when you figure it out.
thank you!
ummm.. it was a history...
Is the star supposed to be upside down? Enola Gay had no gun turrets only the tail guns?
Mostly Sane actually the atomic Enola Gay doesn't have them but the "normal" bomber version has them.
wow! you have an eagle eye!!!
i've just figure it out with your comment.
thank you.
it was upside down.... T.T
you are right. Enola Gay had no guns.
i chose the WWII version instead of the atomic version on the kit.
intimidating model I'd say..... but it looks amazing!. well done mate!...
Thank you!
well done sir,can not wait to build my own.
Thank you, just do it!
Incredible~!!
Nice big plane!
good job
Really nice work. Looks like it was a fun build...
yes, it really was!
Wow!!.your make B-29very nice!!
감사합니다!
I hear ya bud, I am currently working on this same model with lights and engines. what a pain in the A**. One question? did your model say it had blue lights on the top of the wings? mine does, and the only explanation is they must have been formation lights...
Do the motorised props pull the B29 forward when suspended from the ceiling? Very nice job!
No, not so strong enough. but make a gentle wind ^^ Thank you.
awesome, did one myself and also put lights and motor for the propellers the 2 differences that I did was I made a control box so I could start each engine one at a time and the other was that I did not glue the halves together so you can see the inside. The interior is remained only in the shape of photo....
but can you see the interior painting at all when assembled ?
That’s so cool!!! Awesome job!!!!
Thank you~
Looks Very cool O one my self

That decal in the bottom of the wing is backwards but the B29 is beautiful !
Amazing detail.
Thank you.
Nice Work Enjoyed
Thank you.
I really enjoyed too.
thank you so much.^^
COOL!
The Enola Gay WAS the atomic version and the kit needs even more modification than the instructions say, the covers were completely flush with the hull.
very nice build! looks very nice. this is not an easy kit to build because of its size and all the gap filling that has to be done. Again, nice job!
Yes, you are right, it was not an easy kit.
Thank you !
B-29 superfortres and B-17 flying fortres is my favorite bomber
Great!

Thank you!
ART
Well done Sir!
Thank you sir!
AWESOME!
Excellent!
Thank you !
懐かしいありがとうございました
Outstanding! I would love to try and light a B-17 model I am building what drone did you sacrifice for the parts
Thank you.
It was just a cheap one, with remote controller, about $20 ^^ .
Effing hot!
Thank you!
What an outstanding job. What did you use for the liquid masking?
Thank you.
It was, "Mr. Masking Sol R" from "Mr. Hobby", Japan.
Everything is fine, but she didn't have any machine guns.
oh yeah it's sanding not sandpapering just to correct it no offence
How did you put the masking tape over the main cockpit window?
I put them in small pieces in order not to make cut on the surface of the windows.
It took me an hour only for masking.

You know well about that!
Thank you !
Super job.To small for me,I meen the small moters.
Thanks !
What’s can I get one?
Very, very nice,
Thank you so much!
BTW check on the star, it was upside down!!!!
right.. upside down...
how did you guys know that???
thank you for letting me know. : )
Sungdong Cho check on minute 7:49 there you can see clearly shown the star upside down
Sungdong Cho remember the single point of the star points to the leading edge of the wing and the other side two points point to the exit edge of the wing ALLWAYS in every american plane
Nice
Thank you
Awesome plane but what's the scale it can't be 1:72 surely never the less it looks great
It is 1/48.
1/48 is my favorite. 1/72 is too small to build, and 1/35 is too big for me.
That child built that?
No, my sons helped me. ^^ and enjoyed together.
12:43 Enola gay, Where have I heard that name before.
Nice!do they still make this kit?
Darrell Cummings Yes.
Bockscar bomber??
The Enola Gay had no guns.
You're right.
