He didn't want people to treat him differently, or to look at him differently, because it's true the second people learn that you more or less know when your expiration date is, in a lot of cases they begin to treat you like you're already gone.

norm macdonald once said before making any decision he would think "What would Seth Myers do".
That being said this was a very respectful tribute, seth clearly respected him highly.

I've listened to a lot of legendary comedians tell stories about Norm or fumble his jokes. My Seth Myers love came a little late, having spent Saturday nights in my 20s partying during your SNL days. Pandemic layoff hit me early & hard; I just became a Dad 5 months earlier. I mostly could never fall asleep. I embraced finally getting to watch you & Colbert every night. Just brilliant stuff. I always felt like something was missing never seeing him on your show. I really thought that one time your producer posted those ~1993 SNL getaway scanned 5x7's on Twitter followed by a brief Norm exchange was the ball rollin'. This tribute was perfect. The void is no more. Those were the best Norm stories, told exactly right. Man I'm stoked, even though I was just totally bummed. Besides spending every day w/ my daughter, your comedy has been the best thing about being a night owl Pandemic bum, and it's now the best thing to come out of losing my favorite comedian. Thanks, Seth.

LOL as if Seth actually cares that Norm died. Seth is nothing but a grifter and the death of someone greater than him is just an excuse for Seth to virtue signal and get a ratings boost. Norm mocked all the gay politically correct causes Seth stands for and everyone who is an actual fan of Norm knows it.

@@elgatofelix8917 oh yikes, look clearly you know Norm Macdonald much better than I do so congrats I guess. On the topic of Seth and the authenticity of this video, anyone who can read human body language at the instinctual level can tell this is a genuine remembrance of him. If you cannot hear the cracks in Seths voice in the slightest then you lack social empathy and sympathy and I'd suggest seeking help for that, you wont, because people with anti-social personality disorders rarely seek help for their disorders because they don't believe they have them.

Norm was everything Seth could never be. Seth is the last person to say anything, good or bad, about Norm. Just shut up and continue with your sleazy corporate "comedy" show, Norm would never come to your show alive, now that's he is gone, don't even dare to use his name for your ratings. Thus is first time ever i clicked on youtube suggestion of Seth video, just to say this.
