In fairness this is the first time it’s been done in a major major release, like how I’d argue that Gotham had never been properly done before the Arkham games even though it technically existed in Rise of Sin Tzu and Dark Tomorrow. Gotham was really brought to life there, same with NY in the Spider-Man games, I remember loads of distinct places in all of those games. I don’t remember anything from this Metropolis though. It just feels generic and under-leveraged, the buildings could have been untextured blocks used to jump off of and climb, and that would’ve been more distinctive. Hell, Lies of P had tiny city sections in comparison and I remember 75% of them clear as day.

The pissing on flash part makes me think of something that would happen in saints row the third. To me the story is just a what if, like the Knightmare scenes in the DCEU. Something that could potentially happen but doesn't in reality. They should've made a superman game with it being metropolis but want to keep pushing suicide squad on us.

No one can convince me this game was a superhero thing initially. It really looks like they were trying to make something else, then were forced to turn their looter shooter into this. It explains why all characters play basically the same, Warframe is like that. Then they added the squad members and now have Captain Boomerang with his signature weapon...a shotgun. This trash and the company that made it can rot for all I care.
It's impossible to say where they went wrong and how much outside consultation they had when actually forming anything. But no one can convince me that they put this product together and wholeheartedly believed that fans of DC were going to enjoy what they did with these characters.
The problem is HQueeeen has no powers and never did that, jumping around like a grasshoper and overkilled 4 or 6 persons at a time, fun maybe but NOT immersive for a penny. Seriously the traversal a good point to play a game...

It's refreshing to hear someone say that not all live service games are bad, and that it's how they're monetized. Because every MMORPG that has ever been made is essentially a live service game. And a lot of those are really good games that don't nickel and dime the player to death. I don't like cash shops though.
I don't really mind cosmetic shops and in-game currency if the game is getting great post launch content for free. I never buy from them, but I can see why others do.

It doesn't overload you with complex crafting or inventory issues. You basically pick powers as you level up and enhance them.

I really wish when Harley was monologuing to Batman, it said ‘Harley’ and right when she was about to shoot him, a tear rolled down her cheek and she said “You were the best of us, Bruce…” but instead of the subtitles saying ‘Harley’ they said ‘Harleen’. Then after she shoots him, one of the others notice that she’s very quiet and walk up to her, put their hand on her shoulder and say “Harley?…” and she says “Harleen…” and they barely hear her so they say “Huh?…” and then she goes back to wacky Harley and starts cracking jokes and walks off. That would’ve been very subtle, but very powerful. It would have shown in the end, Batman/Bruce was able to bring Harleen back, even if it was just for a moment ♥️! Also, it would’ve showed how much Harley respects Bruce, even though she hated him.
To better understand why the game was destroyed and everything was in conflict within the Akrham Universe you just need to know the what went down begin the scenes: SWEET BABY. they must be exposed and ruined before they destroyed more beloved IPs
A better comparison than doom for the teavesal is Sunset Overdrive, but that game had good and interesting guns, while SS had less interesting guns than Borderlands 1
Pretty solid review. I didn't have much interest in buying the game... and this really does a good job of patting me on the head and telling me i'm doing good by not buying it. They delayed the game by a year to fix a lot of these issues that you mentioned, which were all pointed out by everyone last year and it seems to have not done a whole lot, or they missed the point. There was a news report that the upcoming Wonder Woman game is going to be live service and I immediately lost all interest, and I can't help but feel that it's going to be similar quality to this. I don't really need to give my thoughts on them not bothering to give Batman (of all people) a proper send off, it's fucking pathetic. Can't be bothered to give the character who brought them so much popularity and success a proper send off in their own game... jesus.
The way they did Batman dirty was almost like they were trying to kill everything they stood for so they could start anew without that legacy. They have a fancy for killing Batman now, and idk why. It's not the first time DC has done it in the last couple of years, but at least they had a descent send off, unlike Akrham Batman.

This concept would have been so much better if batman was the last one to resist brainiac's control and helps the squad take down other members then finally succumbing to the influence escaping to the batcave where we get an epic bossfight then at the very last moment he breaks the mind control for a few minutes and asks the squad to leave the cave while he detonates the explosives he pre-installed around the batcave. Would have been so much cooler to send him off that way
I hate this practice of always having to be online to play a game ! For some of us , we can’t always keep our internet on , so we shouldn’t have to have internet just to play a game that could be played offline as well ! I usually refuse to buy a game with this practice , but so many games have adopted it , that I eventually came around cause I wanted to play them so much , but then it sucks if my internet gets shut off and now I’m stuck with a unplayable game ! I’m of the old school generation of gamers ! I started on Aracdes and atari and Nintendo in the 80s . I literally watched the gaming industry be born and grow and to see such practices take place is quite upsetting to me ! But it’s not my decision to make ! So I guess I just continue to adapt to the changes in the gaming world like always , but I wish this practice of always online would change ! 💯
20:16 THERE is an idea that could've been better, WW is the main character and she needs allies/teammates to fight Brainiac, but all she can find is the SS, she also has to change the way she does things (not being as "straight forward warrior", but more "sneaky sneaky Batman") and is struggling working with the villains ("Oh no, captured civilians, we need to free them" "don't wanna" "but but, hero stuff" "i'm villain, not hero").
First time I saw a trailer for this i thought they'd make superman like highlander from the boys, but like the rest of the game its a project that works better as a concept than a full completed release. Heck they could've even made Superman like Peter parker from spiderman 2 and show how the darker thoughts of an evil version of him corrupts his relationship with Louis Lane. Yet for a studio that made their last project about the inner psyche of being a superhero this feels very surface level at best and almost brain dead at worst.
How lex luthor wasnt swapped for batman as the main hero helping you take down the justice league IN A ROCKSTEADY GAME is insane to me. Subversion of expectation being glamorized is an overused way of modern story telling that continues to make superhero movies/games flop. Just because you don't expect me to take a shit on your lap doesn't make it any more interesting or less disrespectful than if you did.
They did release two open world Superman games in the first decade of the century, and portions of Metropolis are available in the LEGO DC Villains game. And thank you for not making your video discussing this game documentary length, or as long as a Lord of the Rings movie like so many seem to like to do these days.

All four of them are literally already suited to have different styles: King Shark: Brawler/Brute Deadshot: Sniper Harley Quinn: Glass Cannon Captain Boomerang: The Jack-of-all-Trades or Tech Specialist And yet, they all play the same. The boss fights are uncreative and don't take advantage of any other superpowered characters, like Reverse Flash, Sinestro, Red Hood, etc. Batman should be in the role of Wonder Woman, but Wonder Woman is only there cause Sweet Baby are woke feminists. This game isn't on the level of Saints Row 2022 which literally gets _everything_ wrong, but it's still likely going to be the worst game of 2024. I don't see anything being worse than this.

HAVE A BETTER VERSION OF THEIR STORY LINE TOO, Like a better upgraded version and would just include the BAT FAMILY From previous games, and i would of added others to Batman's Allies like: Cat woman, Lady Shiva, Talia Al Ghul, Nyssa Al Ghul, Huntress and Azrael! My issue with live service is the content though. It's only every purchasably MTs and cosmetics. Nobody cares or needs that. Especially a SINGLE PLAYER experience. IMO the industry proves the live service model is untrustworhty and easily manipulated. Every live service game has released a shit, broken mess, only to fix it later. I don't think the argument of content being released quick is strong at all. If anything that proves live service incentivizes quantity over quality. Warzone and apex are MP shooters, what content is being added besides maps and skins? Hardly worth being called "content"

I'm kinda in the minority of ppl who never liked Batman as a hero.. but Arkham Batman is where i really started to like him as a force of Will power resilience and Compartmentalizing emotions from logic. Vibrant stylistic graphics have always done well. They appeal to a wider demographic, and such a style attracts a younger audience. I can get the appeal even though I'm not the biggest fan of Fortnite.
@@Centrifewgi I was more or less talking about the combat. Hopping around during combat seems silly. It's so fast paced, seems like there is no depth to it other than hop and shoot. As an older gamer it just isn't a style I'd ever be interested in, unlike the Arkham games. So it seems they sold out their old fans for gen Z'ers.
@@D_89 not really. The comics were pretty serious and extremely dark at times. Like one issue where one of the main character’s brother was @#$& by their aunt possessed by a demon. Or the time Rick Flag suffered serious trauma after his entire squad was killed. Even the unserious comics in the reboot were pretty dark, like Harley forcing herself on top of Deadshot after putting Joker’s ripped off face on him causing him to suffer trauma and unable to shoot properly, or when El Diablo had accidentally killed a group of women and Children in a gang fight.

To many plot holes in it, Harley and Ivy had never had a relationship in the games ever yet they she said they had. They made Deadshot and the tapes give zero elaboration, especially since it’s 2 Deadshots both named Floyd with daughters named Zoe. The entire multiverse concept with abstaining made no sense. King Shark used Green Lantern’s ring. Flash magically grew his finger back. Batman was shot even though he started wearing bullet proof armor. And I will have to add a lot of fans felt disrespected after killing Batman

I really wish when Harley was monologuing to Batman, it said ‘Harley’ and right when she was about to shoot him, a tear rolled down her cheek and she said “You were the best of us, Bruce…” but instead of the subtitles saying ‘Harley’ they said ‘Harleen’. Then after she shoots him, one of the others notice that she’s very quiet and walk up to her, put their hand on her shoulder and say “Harley?…” and she says “Harleen…” and they barely hear her so they say “Huh?…” and then she goes back to wacky Harley and starts cracking jokes and walks off. That would’ve been very subtle, but very powerful. It would have shown in the end, Batman/Bruce was able to bring Harleen back, even if it was just for a moment ♥️! Also, it would’ve showed how much Harley respects Bruce, even though she hated him.

A better comparison than doom for the teavesal is Sunset Overdrive, but that game had good and interesting guns, while SS had less interesting guns than Borderlands 1

Pretty solid review. I didn't have much interest in buying the game... and this really does a good job of patting me on the head and telling me i'm doing good by not buying it. They delayed the game by a year to fix a lot of these issues that you mentioned, which were all pointed out by everyone last year and it seems to have not done a whole lot, or they missed the point. There was a news report that the upcoming Wonder Woman game is going to be live service and I immediately lost all interest, and I can't help but feel that it's going to be similar quality to this. I don't really need to give my thoughts on them not bothering to give Batman (of all people) a proper send off, it's fucking pathetic. Can't be bothered to give the character who brought them so much popularity and success a proper send off in their own game... jesus.
The way they did Batman dirty was almost like they were trying to kill everything they stood for so they could start anew without that legacy. They have a fancy for killing Batman now, and idk why. It's not the first time DC has done it in the last couple of years, but at least they had a descent send off, unlike Akrham Batman.
Batman will continue to be in the game. He will be in plenty of the post game content. Wild that people are pissed that Batman dies in a game called "Kill the Justice League"

This concept would have been so much better if batman was the last one to resist brainiac's control and helps the squad take down other members then finally succumbing to the influence escaping to the batcave where we get an epic bossfight then at the very last moment he breaks the mind control for a few minutes and asks the squad to leave the cave while he detonates the explosives he pre-installed around the batcave.
Would have been so much cooler to send him off that way
The male league members got treated so unceremoniously in their deaths while WW was got a proper hero's death.

I hate this practice of always having to be online to play a game ! For some of us , we can’t always keep our internet on , so we shouldn’t have to have internet just to play a game that could be played offline as well ! I usually refuse to buy a game with this practice , but so many games have adopted it , that I eventually came around cause I wanted to play them so much , but then it sucks if my internet gets shut off and now I’m stuck with a unplayable game ! I’m of the old school generation of gamers ! I started on Aracdes and atari and Nintendo in the 80s . I literally watched the gaming industry be born and grow and to see such practices take place is quite upsetting to me ! But it’s not my decision to make ! So I guess I just continue to adapt to the changes in the gaming world like always , but I wish this practice of always online would change ! 💯

20:16 THERE is an idea that could've been better, WW is the main character and she needs allies/teammates to fight Brainiac, but all she can find is the SS, she also has to change the way she does things (not being as "straight forward warrior", but more "sneaky sneaky Batman") and is struggling working with the villains ("Oh no, captured civilians, we need to free them" "don't wanna" "but but, hero stuff" "i'm villain, not hero").
It was all there and they missed it.
First time I saw a trailer for this i thought they'd make superman like highlander from the boys, but like the rest of the game its a project that works better as a concept than a full completed release. Heck they could've even made Superman like Peter parker from spiderman 2 and show how the darker thoughts of an evil version of him corrupts his relationship with Louis Lane. Yet for a studio that made their last project about the inner psyche of being a superhero this feels very surface level at best and almost brain dead at worst.
How lex luthor wasnt swapped for batman as the main hero helping you take down the justice league IN A ROCKSTEADY GAME is insane to me. Subversion of expectation being glamorized is an overused way of modern story telling that continues to make superhero movies/games flop. Just because you don't expect me to take a shit on your lap doesn't make it any more interesting or less disrespectful than if you did.
Batman having to work with the suicide squad to take down his friends would have been really interesting
They did release two open world Superman games in the first decade of the century, and portions of Metropolis are available in the LEGO DC Villains game.

@@Centrifewgi Well I got some good news- Apparently Monolith is making a WW game. Since they're the same people who made the Shadow of Mordor duology, I have high hopes for that.
All four of them are literally already suited to have different styles:
King Shark: Brawler/Brute
Deadshot: Sniper
Harley Quinn: Glass Cannon
Captain Boomerang: The Jack-of-all-Trades or Tech Specialist
And yet, they all play the same.
The boss fights are uncreative and don't take advantage of any other superpowered characters, like Reverse Flash, Sinestro, Red Hood, etc.
Batman should be in the role of Wonder Woman, but Wonder Woman is only there cause Sweet Baby are woke feminists.
This game isn't on the level of Saints Row 2022 which literally gets _everything_ wrong, but it's still likely going to be the worst game of 2024. I don't see anything being worse than this.

HAVE A BETTER VERSION OF THEIR STORY LINE TOO, Like a better upgraded version and would just include the BAT FAMILY From previous games, and i would of added others to Batman's Allies like: Cat woman, Lady Shiva, Talia Al Ghul, Nyssa Al Ghul, Huntress and Azrael! And would of Added the Green Arrow to the Justice league to take Bat man place,

My issue with live service is the content though. It's only every purchasably MTs and cosmetics. Nobody cares or needs that. Especially a SINGLE PLAYER experience. IMO the industry proves the live service model is untrustworhty and easily manipulated. Every live service game has released a shit, broken mess, only to fix it later. I don't think the argument of content being released quick is strong at all. If anything that proves live service incentivizes quantity over quality. Warzone and apex are MP shooters, what content is being added besides maps and skins? Hardly worth being called "content"

I'm kinda in the minority of ppl who never liked Batman as a hero.. but Arkham Batman is where i really started to like him as a force of Will power resilience and Compartmentalizing emotions from logic. To this date if you ask me "Do you like batman ?" i'd say either dunno or nahh he's just another man at the insanity end.. but i'd say "Arkham trilogy batman is the one really liked, nothing beats this man because i saw thru his pain from Asylum-City-Knight ( i know about red hood before this so i knew who arkham knight is ) so i understand him better than any batman story yet. & yeah he's a Hero in Arkham series." ~ Never did it ever matter to me if batman was done wrong, but this particular batman. Types Three's be the second strongest in strenght and weight wise like the 12 stones or heavier to 15 stones, like Blood sport, Captain Cold, Captain Boomerang, Dead shot, Death stroke, Peace maker and Rick Flag,

Vibrant stylistic graphics have always done well. They appeal to a wider demographic, and such a style attracts a younger audience. I can get the appeal even though I'm not the biggest fan of Fortnite.
@@Centrifewgi I was more or less talking about the combat. Hopping around during combat seems silly. It's so fast paced, seems like there is no depth to it other than hop and shoot. As an older gamer it just isn't a style I'd ever be interested in, unlike the Arkham games. So it seems they sold out their old fans for gen Z'ers.

@@D_89 not really. The comics were pretty serious and extremely dark at times. Like one issue where one of the main character’s brother was @#$& by their aunt possessed by a demon. Or the time Rick Flag suffered serious trauma after his entire squad was killed. Even the unserious comics in the reboot were pretty dark, like Harley forcing herself on top of Deadshot after putting Joker’s ripped off face on him causing him to suffer trauma and unable to shoot properly, or when El Diablo had accidentally killed a group of women and Children in a gang fight.

To many plot holes in it, Harley and Ivy had never had a relationship in the games ever yet they she said they had. They made Deadshot and the tapes give zero elaboration, especially since it’s 2 Deadshots both named Floyd with daughters named Zoe. The entire multiverse concept with abstaining made no sense. King Shark used Green Lantern’s ring. Flash magically grew his finger back. Batman was shot even though he started wearing bullet proof armor. And I will have to add a lot of fans felt disrespected after killing Batman
