I am a white male, I was regularly stopped and searched in the late 80s and into the 90s. It was inconvenient and annoying at times but I never complained. Firstly, I lived on an estate that was rapidly declining. Secondly, I hadn't done anything wrong, I wasn't carrying any weapons or tolled up for a robbery so I had nothing to worry about. I would welcome the reintroduction of stop and search in my home town.
