  • This video refers to the G-code program provided by I.D.C. Woodcraft, available on Etsy to resurface the spoilboard on your BobsCNC Evolution 4 CNC router. It explains how to set up the CNC router and run the G-code program.
    It walks you through step by step how to set X, Y & Z zero and what bit you need to use to resurface the spoilboard.
    The file discussed here is a plug-and-play G-code file.
    Resurfacing the spoilboard is a common practice for 2 reasons. First, CNC routers with spoilboards are routinely not perfectly parallel to the motion of the machine. Second, spoilboards are routinely cut into over time, this requiring resurfacing on occasion.
    NOTE:
    DUE TO CHANGES IN THE BOB'S CNC MACHINE SINCE THE ORIGINAL SPOILBOARD PROGRAM WAS MADE, THE SPOILBOARD SURFACING PROGRAM IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE FROM IDC WOODCRAFT FOR THE BOB'S CNC MACHINES.
    NO SURFACING PROGRAMS WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE FOR THIS IN THE FUTURE FROM IDC WOODCRAFT.

    Hey brother. Still green on this cnc thing. It might sound childish for the veterans but me. I just surfaced my spoil board. And it turned out pretty good. No lines, all smooth.

      Hi Devin. I've made this file available again on Etsy. Please note...due to Etsy costs, the price needed to be increased slightly.

    Nice video, though I think that your spoil board is too big, I'm using a board slightly smaller than the work area so that I can use larger pieces of material that stick out the back and still be level with the board.

    • @IDCWoodcraft
      @IDCWoodcraft  3 года назад +1

      Hi Jasper. Yes, the board is actually the base. I am going to add a spoilboard on top of that one for the same reason and so I don't ruin it any more.

    Do you just keep sinking your spoil board screws down each time? I have the Evolution 5 with T slot spoil board, I'm a little nervous about taking out a tooth on my Amana 1-1/2" bit!

    Bobs E4 cnc I have came with a dewalt single speed router, I was hoping to learn how to surface the spoil board with this setup. Any tips for a 30,000 rpm router?! Thanks for what you do!

      Hi Chris. Follow the instructions in this video. If you cannot change the router speed, increase the feed to 200ipm
