It's died rip akira toriyama and dragon ball 😢 you will be beyond missed the world is a different place without you. I am not just saying goodbye to dragon ball I am also saying bye to all the great RUclipsrs I have been watching for many years like geek doom101 as I know future videos will be the new stuff I don't think I want to witness this.
Dragon Ball suffered a huge loss with Toriyama’s passing, Toyotaro will never be like Toriyama but I believe Toyotaro has the potential to do great things. I think he will be bringing a more serious tone to the series, much like Toriyama did during his prime. In his later years, Toriyama’s work had a more lighthearted, relaxed feel, which suited a master at peace with his legacy. Before his death, Toriyama greatly expanded the Dragon Ball universe, leaving behind a solid foundation for Toyotaro to carry the series forward. Great video👊🏼
I never read or really watched anything about Toyotaros fan manga, I think it was Dragon Ball AF. But Toriyama did, and he saw something in the characters and stories, why else name a successor. I have faith he'll do good, theres just never gonna be a stop to the hate from certain fans. Dragon Ball is big enough to where fans pick and choose what they love and hate about it, and generally the newest thing will always get flack from older fans.
Yeah fam, his quirky mind , always remember DB is comedy and martial arts , it’ll never be the same … it’s the east so they don’t woke and identity politics , as long as they respect his living memory and don’t insult us the fans , DB will be fine … hopefully
@@pitouayato2486 Yes exactly, its the mix of comedy and seriousness that he mastered which may not be so apparent or easy to replicate in the future but the Japanese and worldwide fans can hopefully contribute their ideas to continue the story with the appropriate tone to honor his legacy for the foreseeable future but it'll finally end at some point.
Its not the same. He wrote amazing stories and changed people's lives with his writing. Its not like idolizing a Hollywood actor and bowing down to their being themselves.
@@gamer8622lol yes it is.. toriyama ripped off the old monkey magic show and wukong myths. The voice actors gave us the emotion and the editors made the story better.. he wasnt even writing super by the end.. celeb fawning is gross
May he rest in peace. What if Akira Toriyama subconsciously knew he didn't have long to live and had the urge to drop a bunch of lore as a parting gift to DB fans in the form of Daima?
While I don't think that Toyotaro could ever replicate Toriyama's creativity, he does have an opportunity to stamp his own style and flavour on to Dragonball. My only small concern is that he won't be allowed to fully explore ideas or create stuff that is unique to him because everyone else involved in Dragonball will be stuck trying to replicate Akira Toriyama's style while likely failing at it. I think that Toyotaro has the potential to carve out a unique legacy of his own if he is allowed to step out of Toriyama's shadow. As the wrestler Chris Jericho once said in his Wrestlemania feud with Shawn Michaels in 2003, "I stopped trying to be the next Shawn Michaels and focused on becoming the first Chris Jericho". That's what I ideally hope for Toyotaro.
I hope for that too. Part of me is nervous that Toyotaro's style/character is not deep enough to carve anything interesting out. I am not familiar with all of his work so I could be way off, but if he is mainly known as the guy who did Dragon Ball AF, at the moment I think his style is replicating Toriyama. He may have more unique projects that show more of who he is but as of currently I'm not aware of them
About to watch the video. I wanted to take this time to tell you thank you for all that you do. It's been an honor to be your friend and apart of your community. Thank you for having me. I hope your holiday season is everything you hope for and more. Keep doing amazing things and I'll be here to support. Thanks again!
As much as I would like to believe in the best, but Dragon Ball will clearly not be the franchise we knew before. I think the DB universe will have a future. But it will be different. First of all, the manga content will clearly be hung on Toyotaro, who will most likely now be in charge in terms of the course of Dragon Ball Super manga. Bandai Namco will continue to release games based on the universe. Toei will continue to release films/anime series based on the universe. Obviously, Akio Yoku from Capsule Corp. will clearly not be the last player in shaping the future and their showdown with Shuiesha is a very dirty and unpleasant moment that has not yet been resolved. Because of this, the uncertainty is frightening. If something changes, insiders and fans will be the first to know about it. RIP Akira Toriyama, your legacy will never be forgotten.
@Cxldest_D1 Top 10 reasons I dislike super #1. Doing nothing with Goten and Trunks, the thing the buu saga was trying to push. Atleast GT involved trunks in a more hands on way #2. Poor vegeta writing. Ultra Ego is dumb. Vegeta submitted his ego at the end of Z, and stopped challenging goku as a bitter rival and accepted Goku as the better fighter, but Super ignores it and says "Game on, guys!" End of Z vegeta knew he could never best Goku, but in super they have him really trying again - now it gets better when Freiza comes back because it gives Vegeta another purpose to train but the start was just uuuuugh #3. What the fuck happened to Tien? #4. Frieza coming back was dumb at first but he was entertaining I guess in the top BUTTTTTT how they all forget what he did to Krillen on Namek. The goku from Z would Neverrr let frieza close to his friends again hellll no frieza wouldn't be holding hands with the cast naaaaah fuck that, he died with Trunks sword end of story. #5. Goku black arc was mid, no involvement with Gohan Goten Or trunks and the end was cop out #7 the expanding of the universe was cool until they gave up doing it #8 we never got to go to universe 6 as much as we should have I can keep going but you get my point, I d i s l i k e the show, it never attached me like Z did.
There's a lot of uncertainty about how Dragon Ball will continue as a series without Toriyama's involvement. Fans are just gonna have to wait and hope that the people who are running DB think of a plan if they want to expect something new for the franchise. RIP Toriyama-sensei
@@SnowBlackheart that’s besides the point my point is Stan Lee was not hands on everything like toriyama was the past 50 years marvel has evolved Vince McMahon was
Not really, Stan Lee didn't draw any of the characters and after creating them the characters transformed and have all had many people creating their stories. Toriyama created the world, the characters, the story and did the art for its main iterations and even did story outlines up until his death.
I have always followed dragonball since I was born (I am from 1996). In the end of dragonball gt, we had this symbol that was that goku leaves forever...as a child. Today we have this parallel with daima (which is his last project), that goku becomes a child again. Knowing that, i have the impression that Akira Toriyama knew he was going to leave, and that he maybe wanted to send a message by making daima. Since gt, fans have waited 18 years before db super, it was an eternity...except that it is different now. This is why I will not watch dragonball after daima, watching db is like not letting goku rest in peace. it will never be the same again 💔
Toriyama was a great man who brought joy to so many people. He will be missed, but never forgotten. As of now, let’s hope that the series is good hands. He will be watching and looking after us in the afterlife.
Imagination shouldn't be an issue if effort is there. Dragon ball right now has limitless potential with new characters and universe's barely touched upon. Will it be the same no. But even the average fan would be able to come up with story ideas to follow plot it isnt that hard.
I feel like Superhero made a good sendoff as well. Goku and Vegeta living their dream in the world of a god. Gohan finally coming into his own as the protector of Earth. Piccolo becoming an icon of his people and the RR/Capsule feud coming to an end (allegedly).
Whatever they do, I just don't want them to end Dragon Ball forever. Hopefully we get more arcs in the manga and get more movies before the anime series comes back or if they even decide to do it.
I am glad that I had spent time with Dragon Ball from my childhood throughout my adulthood years, thanks to my young brother who got me introduced into the Dragon Ball franchise in September 20, 1997 when Dragon Ball Z was aired on US television syndication when I was at the age of 6, and then I started to watch Toonami on Cartoon Network on May 24-28, 1999, when they aired Dragon Ball Z marathon (DBZ20XL) at the age of 8. I remember my young brother used to play Dragon Quest on the Nintendo GameBoy Color handheld system back then, and then in late 2002, we started to collect the Dragon Ball videogames (from Dragon Ball Z: Budokai (PlayStation 2) all the way through Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero (PlayStation 5)) Also on the same year in 2002, I started drawing Dragon Ball Z characters with Scholastic's How to Draw Dragon Ball Z drawing book when I was at the age of 11. In 2015, we went to the movie theater to watch Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' movie (it's our second anime movie that we saw in the movie theater right next to Pokémon The Movie 2000: The Power of One), in 2019, we saw Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie, and in 2022, we saw Dragon Ball Super: Superhero movie. I also started to collect Dragon Ball Z DVDs, Dragon Ball Z Movie Pack DVDs and Blu-Ray sets, Dragon Ball Z TV Specials DVDs, Dragon Ball DVDs, Dragon Ball Movie Pack DVD, Dragon Ball Z Kai DVDs, Dragon Ball GT DVD, Dragon Ball Super DVDs, and Dragon Ball Super Movies on Blu-Ray sets. I also collect Dragon Ball full color manga comic books as well. I am going to miss Akira Toriyama-sensei creating good stories of Dragon Ball, it was enjoying and it is still going to be enjoyable by watching a great masterpiece that he created. Dragon Ball is my second anime that I had watched back when I was a kid right next to Sailor Moon, Pokémon, and Digimon. But I don't know where Dragon Ball is going in the future, but I hope it will last for the next 40 years.
in an interview Akira Toriyama told Toyotaro to make his own Dragon Ball without using too much influence from Akira Dragon Ball so he was already preparing his succesor.
On a positive note, I'm glad Toriyama finished his world building lore of the dragon ball world, by giving us the hierarchy of the universe gods, the multiple universes and finally the demon world. Now, I understand why the ending of z felt like a proper end to the dragon ball series. The adventure is never ending, however the story of goku was complete, which is why a new generation character such as UUb was created to establish a passing on the torch. I'm just happy that dragon ball super was able to fill in the gaps for the end of z 10 year finale arc. whatever ideas toyotaru comes up with I feel wont hurt the legacy of the story, since he will now be forced to move past the end of z using newer characters. I think toyotaro should simply just create his own original (new) characters that are of a new generation within the dragonball universe, as I feel it would be alot easier for him to adapt them into his own vision since he would be very familiar with the concept of their creations. Goku, of course would still be incorporated into story as a major character, though not as the central character to newer stories. He'd have a role somewhat similar to Saitama of one punch man.
Since Toriyama is gone, get the editors who helped him write the z manga and help flesh his ideas out into coherent storylines. These editors also helped the genre change from og Dragonball to Dragonball Z. They were NOT around for GT, Super, Daima (it shows)... Let them train Toyotaro as well or help dragonball room. They are the only ones around that knows how to write good dragonball (especially Z like material). We desperately need them.
It happened with a cancelled (92 episode, unannounced/unreleased) Dragonball series produced in 1999-2003 (ultimate). It was put on the shelf before "post production" which is when you hear about stuff from the company (PR, marketing, etc). These editors made ultimate inside the 100 year timeskip and was the best expansion of the franchise. Again, people still don't know the truth, only what they are told.
It doesn't, no. If we don't get a team of writers who understand the flow of Z, we are doomed. When Bandai Namco Holdings gets it, there are much more talented people in their animation division since they absorbed SUNRISE and all 11 of their studios and veteran writers and animators since 1994. Toei Animation is a shell of it's former self and wants to squeeze what's left before selling all their IP from the 1940's to current and switch business strategies with new original IP (which will be hot garbage). This will happen in a couple of years.
Plus, some of those editors are helping Togashi with Hunter x hunter manga, helping out with the chainsaw man manga, some were helping with one piece, some were helping murata and ONE with one punch man manga from cosmic garou on up, all the feats you saw). They are all spread out in the anime/manga/video game industry on the top selling projects. Toyotaro and victory Uchiha rejected their help and look at super now, it's a mess. They will come out with it, but ultimate forces the retirement of the main cast and explains everything in full detail with the power reaching what people don't want (the MC reaches his goal in totality with nowhere to go). This doesn't line up with current Toei Animation agenda.
Even I had to stop myself from calling Toriyama "lazy" since that man had to not only do manga chapters every week, but do so with amazing art, interesting characters and awesome story arcs.
Two people close to me past away this year. Akira Toriyama and my dad. It's been a very emotional year for me. But they are both in a better place. Toriyama with King Kai telling jokes and my dad catching big fishes with Jesus.
Well said, Dan. If Iyoku Akio and Toyotarô head Dragon Ball from here on, I think Dragon Ball will continue to wow us. Otherwise, I'm not so sure. I don't want to see Dragon Ball go the way of RWBY after Rooster Teeth cut Monty's widow and Monty's self-proclaimed apprentice out of the picture.
I am worried, because for the future of Dragon Ball, I want them to make what pays respect to Akira Toriyama, like continuing his great work and make it great to where it is like how Toriyama would have been or at least that doesn't disrespect or distain him in any way, however, I do feel like others should make their own things or at least have their own input, like Akira Toriyama's editor who criticized Toriyama's villains in the Android/Cell Saga about going from Android 19 and 20 to Amdroid 17 and 18 to Cell and finally to Perfect Cell. Even the people who created the Z movies and characters like Broly, Cooler, Super Android 13, Janemba, Slug, and others came to be, who were amazing!! So I just hope that no one fumbles the bag with Dragon Ball and it turns horrible and does not respect Toriyama.
I swear, if I ever become famous for any creative work that I might end up doing in my life, I'll put in my will that at the moment of my passing all the rights to my creative works automatically go to the public domain. Toriyama has done a truly magnificent work with Dr. Slump, Dragon Ball, Dragon Quest, and everything else he worked on. I'm not ready to see it go like that, once it inevitably goes into someone else's hands.
There is also the issue of "canon". After DAIMA, any and all things released are always gonna have that " taint" of not being made with involvement of the original creator. Toyotaro's continuation of the Super storyline is gonna get a bit more leeway because it wraps up something Toriyama started, but after that I expect massive amounts of canonicity debates.
As long as there’s good story telling and they don’t change cannon itll be fine. But that’s a massive if they do that. Because too many ips have been ruined just in the past 20 years. Too many
Marvel and DC had different writers all them time. Anime fans need to let go of this “canon” Bs. If you ever gonna want your favorite show to our live the creator than people gotta understand it going to have different writers through out history.
Yes, it is pretty tragic that his creative touch is gone, but all of his work is out in the world for the Japanese and worldwide fans to build and upon and expand because the foundation is laid out for everyone to see and enjoy. So it is very expansive and will likely continue into the foreseeable future but clearly not forever. Thankfully, we have the classic series to watch and reflect on at all times and places with the movies and other spin-offs. Thanks to Akira Toriyama for creating Dragon Ball in all its forms because the people in the world would be very different, and likely worse off, without all the good memories.
and friend of mine has been with we for the last 7 years watching one piece. he had never seen dragon ball before. i told him when we caught up in one piece which was at the beginning of this year that we should start watching dragon ball. i march the news hit us both hard and now in december we’ve finished all of dragon ball and dragon ball z both with tears in our eyes. thank you Toriyama for all the people you’ve brought together ❤
It’s funny that Akio Iyoku likes to reuse concepts for current day Dragon Ball, but at the same time Toriyama semi did the same thing by bringing back the Red Ribbon Army back through the Androids and Buu splitting into two beings like Kami and Piccolo, and Uub being a reincarnation of Buu like Piccolo is of King Piccolo.
Those things you mentioned besides the Red Ribbon Army were still new characters, just with a bit of similarity of past stuff. Not bringing back a number of old villains like Akio has been suggesting. I wouldn't even count the Android Saga all that much because new villains were still introduced.
😢 i won't ever forget Akira Toriyama, but I do feel like Toyotaro can cook something good and be trustful enough for the legacy of his master, and I believe he's maintaining the imagination and works of Akira alive, what I wanna see is his creative vision for the future of Dragon Ball, I believe the right path right now, is to innovative things, do a time skip, let young characters age, let's see a new world of Dragon Ball, but not by replacing or removing Goku and Vegeta, but to keep them there, but give space for other characters with their own importance to shine, like Gohan older like his dad, Goten and Trunks, more mature....and in my opinion I think Frieza needs to have a character development, he can't keep bark and chasing Goku for revenge, I think he need to move on to do bigger things, I thought it could be interesting if Frieza train with Bills to be a God of Destruction, and maybe it be a plan to get closer to stronger beings, like Zeno, I think the next big arc should have a big impact, something to do with God realms, the god of destruction, angels and makai world, if Frieza isn't becoming a God of Destruction, he would be a Demon King, it could be interesting, and rather than Goku and Vegeta getting more transformations and forms, maybe accept they're already too strong, and let Gohan, Goten, Trunks surpass them all, with new forms, so we get some new... I'm excited for the future of Dragon Ball.
For me, Toyotaro doesn't have to be Toriyama he's following Tori's Footsteps, yes, but he can go down his own path while still keeping Toriyama's Legacy at the forefront
Rarely I cry over a celebrity’s death but when Akira Toriyama passed away, I was crying my eyes out and it’s interesting to see what future this franchise has after Diama when they will go past the end of DBZ?
Toyotaró will continue the manga and hopefully the anime will continue soon. There is still a lot that is open and definitely needs to be addressed. It’s not over. Dragon Ball Super is not over. 😉👍🔥
Anything popular enough becomes part of the world, belonging to everyone, whether for better or worse. Stan Lee creating Peter Parker, Walt Disney creating Mickey Mouse, Siegal and Shuster creating Superman... they'll always be the creators, but these creations have taken so many forms and stories beyond the original ones. There will never be an 'end' to these characters and their stories, and I think Dragon Ball has taken on the same iconic status, modern mythologies. Stories that will be told for generations to come. Good ones? Bad ones? Mid ones? Definitely yes.
wow geekdom video with no social plugging at the start of the video, way more condensed thank you geekdom your videos are actually pretty decent without the filler
when i first found out Toriyama passed i was sad like most, even though i didn't cry, i sat and thought about my life up until that moment and realized how much a simple story from a man with a great imagination really effected my life. No matter what happens to dragon ball in a couple months or the distant future from now, it wont change how much of a powerful and great impact Toriyama made on peoples lives, Rest in peace
Takao Koyama sensei, the original creator of Broly, Urgently needs return he understands a lot about Dragon Ball and could help Sasuke Toriyama and Toyotaro write new DB adventures.
I’m here to say I will always love and miss Toriyama, but I am here to take the leap and support Toyotaro on this adventure. There’s no way it will be easy and will likely be impossible to please everyone. I have faith he will respect the lore, and that’s all I need.
I hope the drawings start to be less rounded, slim and childish and it all comes back to more buff, badass and radical as it once was when it reached peak.
@@anonymous19548 I'm not saying this cuz I'm american or anything, I just want to see what I like. I'm latin american and doubtfully there is another fanbase of Dragon Ball that wants it to succeed and evolve more than us "FACTS". Everyone wants something from the franchise and there's nohing wrong on me wanting what I want. That's why we have Daima, Legends, Super, Z, GT, Classic, theres something for everyone.
@anonymous19548 He's referring to the old style of DB back in Z, when characters were drawn more buff. Toriyama's modern style slimmed down everyone and even de-aged them.
I would love it if the new series runner will bring back old characters back into the limelight. Both in series aspects, such as Chi Chi and Launch, but also in comical moments. Like Monster Carrot for example... Though he did die when the moon got blown up....
At this point, only a miracle will save dragon ball but regardless we are lucky to have witness a man as great as Toriyama sensei and his work that changed the world forever.
Dragon ball is stress reliever to me I'm 37 years old still watching dragon ball, I'm in my grade 5 when I first watch dragon ball in Philippines the episode come ones a week in that time TV prmetime big salute to Akira toriyama making my childhood
Akira Toriyama and Kazuki Takahashi were the main reasons I had an awesome childhood and made friends. RIP to both of the men who gave the world so much to love and brought people together all over the world.
As much as we would love for Toriyama to be immortal and maintain the authenticity of the franchise- all people eventually pass on. And just because a creator dies, their works don’t suddenly vanish just because it’s never going to be the same and to just throw away because it’s not going to be what fans want most of the time going forward. Instead, we should be very grateful that they exist at all and how they inspired countless others. I’m sticking by Dragon Ball with its ups and downs even if the man is no longer with us
RIP to the Great-grandfather and Grandfather of Shonen anime Akira toriyama your the reason i draw today and why reason im into Anime Geekdom and thankyou for your DBZ content as well
Thank you for making this video Geekdom. Akira Toriyama's death really hit us hard. The future of Dragonball is uncertain now but I have faith Akio Iyoku and Toyotaro in charge that the future of Dragonball is in good hands.
Im rewatching all of dragon ball and dr slump to keep Akira Toriyamas memory alive for me. Hope to do 3d project about Goku vs the red ribbon army and his first encounter with piccolo in 23rd world tournament. Hopefully I get to honor this man’s memory when I understand how to do 3D likeness better haha.
If you're curious about the future of Dragon Ball without Akira Toriyama's direct oversight, look no further than Dragon Ball Super. It's widely acknowledged that Toriyama provided the broad strokes of the storyline for Super, leaving the detailed execution to Toyotaro and Toei Animation. However, the results have been criticized as a letdown, with accusations of rehashing old plots, over-reliance on new transformations differentiated merely by hair color, and fight scenes that echo previous works. In contrast, Dragon Ball Daima feels more authentically Toriyama-esque. The narrative unfolds with a stronger focus on storytelling rather than just escalating power levels or introducing new forms. Moreover, Toriyama's direct involvement in Daima is clearly more pronounced, lending it a more genuine feel to his original vision.
Honestly, I think that AT's pass away is both the worst and best thing that could have happened to the DB franchise. In his latest installments, his writing was getting stifle and strict. Now there's a chance to take this franchise into new directions and allow other characters to shine and new directions to explore.
Good video! I too was devastated by Toriyama's passing. Dragon Ball is borderline my perfect comfort story and it inspired me to become a writer myself, so I owe a lot to his work. While I don't know enough about Akio Iyoku to have an opinion on him, I think I can trust Toyotarou with the future of Dragon Ball. He may not be able to match the same levels as Toriyama, but he did work with the man for the entirety of DBS's current manga run. He likely knows now what Toriyama would look for with feedback and maybe even where he would have gone with the story, though Toyotarou may have a different idea. I do hope the series continues for a while longer though. I'd be okay if they did one more anime and one more manga arc to wrap up the core story and then do supplementary work like the games and movies for the future but maybe not do much with the core story. I certainly want a true ending with the Uub stuff that accounts for the DBS stuff, though I imagine they could just have Beerus decide to go take another long nap. I'm just spitballing at this point. I want Dragon Ball but continue forever, but another part of me doesn't want it to overstay its welcome without Toriyama.
I'll admit without Toriyama, I don't really feel confident about the future of this franchise on a writing level. The past few years have really rubbed me the wrong way with how nostalgia pandering it's been with Broly, Bardock, Frieza, the Red Ribbon Army, even stuff like Beast Gohan. Modern Dragon Ball was never a story of passion with the exception of Daima but you can definitely feel it now. Next year will make it 12 since all of this started. The fact that Frieza, a Z villain from 30 years ago. Is what everyone is most excited to see right now over the new concepts introduced like a literal multiverse doesn't look good.
You’re a fantastic content creator, and I appreciate your insights. However, we should be cautious about pushing for too much change. Naruto for example is at a critical juncture with the main characters sidelined and their potential deaths teased. We haven’t even seen Moro or the Granola Arc yet, which I’m looking forward to, along with more development of the human and younger cast. Remember, Goku and Vegeta are the anchors of the show, and drastic changes without context could lead to a Star Wars-like failure!
It greatly upsets me that we will never get to see a post Z dragon ball written by Toriyama himself, but I'm grateful for the story he gave us and hopeful that the writers who take over do a good job with it.
To be fair, Akio at one point would've even succeeded in bringing Cooler back but unfortunately it didn't work over at the studios, he would be a powerful pillar to continue the Dragon Ball managements.
Maybe just maybe now we get an actual story without forgetting a bunch of characters and details. Probably not but might actual make db a good story and not what it was
As much as we would like them to go beyond end of Z it might be tough. over 20 years ago Toriyama and Katsuru were asked during an interview and their response is below. I think they will continue to exploit the time skips and end dragon ball at some point in the next 5-10 years. Thats just my opinion based on what they said during this interview and what they are currently doing by telling stories within the ten year time gap between the defeat of kid buu and the battle between Goku and Uub. ------- With the Dragon Ball Kanzenban, the series will be garnering new fans. And being fans, I think they will probably want to see some new Dragon Ball Z. How about it, Sensei - why not make a new animated work once a year or so? Toriyama: Ah, I’d like to see that. Nakatsuru: But in the final chapter, Goku’s getting pretty old. And what happens to him after is already covered in the anime-original Dragon Ball GT. Still, Goku is the main character, after all. If you’re going to make a new story without any difficulty, you’ll have to rewind time a bit, and tell a story from somewhere in the past, or something… Toriyama: I agree. Rather than continuing on strangely into the future, or digging deeper, I’d rather develop it with something like a separate episode, going back in time to say, “there was such-and-such a story, involving such-and-such an opponent”. As in, it wasn’t in the comic, but this kind of thing also happened. I think that’d probably be better.
@@x-Bailey17-xI can probably see them doing the EoZ and during the 5 years just before DBGT takes place but it seemed like Nakatsuru and Toriyama in this old interview just want to tell stories that don’t disrupt DBGT for the reason of it being an anime-original that tells the story of Goku and his Friends 5 years after the EoZ which I dislike. GT was ok but hopefully toyotaro can take us into the future 🙏🏾
@@rpt2369 I would really love to see a sequel to Dragon Ball GT that follows Goku Jr. as he embarks on new adventures and confronts different villains. Toei Animation could definitely create this; they just need a clever way to establish Goku Jr.'s connection to the original Goku. Additionally, it would be fantastic if some elements from Dragon Ball Online were referenced in the GT sequel, along with aspects from Dragon Ball Damia, especially considering recent events in Super that were mentioned in the Damia anime.
There's some theories that Toyotaro at Jump Fest this month will draw Goku in his blue gi to confirm that the manga returning will finally go past the end of Z. I hope. 🤞
Toriyama passed not long after my mom did. Today was her birthday. Geekdom posting this video today of all days hits me pretty hard. Thank you for all that you do for the community
Dragon ball to me is more than a show or a manga it completely changed my life. started watching it when I was 3 years old looking back it basically made me the person I am now it got me into martial arts were I now travel to different countries to fight and i am going to fight in Japan next year. I am a martial artist and animator. I was planning on Woking for a dragon ball and moving to Japan, but I cancelled that plan when I heard about akira toriyama death. If it wasn't for dragon ball akira toriyama message of never giving up besides what that the odds might tell you I wouldn't be the person I am today I think akira toriyama for everything he's ever done for me I always wanted to think him in person. It's hard to train now or look at dragon ball knowing in a few short months they will destroy my favourite franchise I really don't trust a company to look after akira toriyama baby when read it you can fell the blood sweat and tears that went into his series akira toriyama isn't the original creator he is the creator this is his baby. Man sacrificed his time show respect, yes dragon ball will continue of course it makes money but doesn't have to be good and they will always be fans that will watch just because its dragon ball similar to star wars even though its the worst thing I have ever seen 😂 even though company might not respect you akira I always will thank akira how hope you can rest in peace dragon ball died with you us hard-core fans like myself are done with the new franchise. Rip akira toriyama and dragon ball 😢😭😭
Great video. 14:40: "This guy just wants to rehash stuff that was popular but at the same time he's the guy pushing for dragon ball (that thing that was popular) to continue. 😂
So basically the future's in question without Toriyama because DB won't evolve? I didn't need 18 minutes going over everything he's ever worked on to get that gist. More time should've been dedicated to his out of the box ideas you praise rather than padding the video time. And who's to even say the series would evolve under him? He showed no interest in touching EoZ.
It'll never be the same again.

I agree, I think dragon ball is in need of a more serious tone. Maybe not always of course but some arcs need a serious tone.
@filioperibeiro6285 Nah, the heart of DB is when it's serious but also light-hearted.
I don't really cry when celebrities die. But I balled for akira
Same. My wife didn’t understand why I was so sad and bummed out.
@splurtrecords6318 dude he wrote 2 of the most famous Mangas in history and is the most influential mangaka of all time. Grow up
@ so hes a celeb?
May he rest in peace. What if Akira Toriyama subconsciously knew he didn't have long to live and had the urge to drop a bunch of lore as a parting gift to DB fans in the form of Daima?
He in fact knew..
How
@@sriramgovindarajan2585he said something that alluded to that
He did know sadly. He was sick for some time.
Of course. He said that in 1 interview
RIP TO THE FATHER OF SHOUNEN 🙏🏾
You mean the father of all shonen
*Modern shounen
He is actually the father of all Shonen the grandfather is Tezuka the creator of Astro boy
@@truffle6082 You right
@@truffle6082I feel like the crazy part is that Tezuka and Toriyama both could’ve still been alive today
He may have more unique projects that show more of who he is but as of currently I'm not aware of them
I agree with this, I really want to see Toyotaro do his own style and see what he can come up with.
@filioperibeiro6285 The Moro arc was mostly Toyotaro.
@@j04370859 Interesting. Then he needs to improve on how to end an arc.
@filioperibeiro6285 It ended fine, miles better than the Trunks arc, that Toriyama did. 😆
About to watch the video. I wanted to take this time to tell you thank you for all that you do. It's been an honor to be your friend and apart of your community. Thank you for having me. I hope your holiday season is everything you hope for and more. Keep doing amazing things and I'll be here to support. Thanks again!
Some fans may doesn’t like Akira but they have to respect his legacy, Akira was the Stan Lee of Japan his work changed the planet that's a fact.
Future Dragon Ball movies & games will have their ending credits end with "In Loving Memory of Akira Toriyama"
They should but, idk if they will. Sparking Zero doesn't have that (at least I don't think).
I have no doubt. ❤
Aside from Akira Toriyama, we have suffered a great deal of losses. Many voice actors in English and Japanese, among others.
my bulmaaa❤🔥
RIP Akira Toriyama, your legacy will never be forgotten.
it ended in the 90s. Super is not a good show unfortunately.
@@slashs1318 super is a good show. I swear dbs hate is so forced
@@Cxldest_D1 agreed it's so stupid gt was worse then super ever was people just hating cause the animation needed work the first 60 episodes
@@oerandavis8750that deserves hate. It's their job to animate properly. The shitty animation was on top of recapping the movie
@Cxldest_D1 Top 10 reasons I dislike super
#1. Doing nothing with Goten and Trunks, the thing the buu saga was trying to push. Atleast GT involved trunks in a more hands on way
#2. Poor vegeta writing. Ultra Ego is dumb. Vegeta submitted his ego at the end of Z, and stopped challenging goku as a bitter rival and accepted Goku as the better fighter, but Super ignores it and says "Game on, guys!" End of Z vegeta knew he could never best Goku, but in super they have him really trying again - now it gets better when Freiza comes back because it gives Vegeta another purpose to train but the start was just uuuuugh
#5. Goku black arc was mid, no involvement with Gohan Goten Or trunks and the end was cop out
#7 the expanding of the universe was cool until they gave up doing it
#8 we never got to go to universe 6 as much as we should have
I can keep going but you get my point, I d i s l i k e the show, it never attached me like Z did.
There's a lot of uncertainty about how Dragon Ball will continue as a series without Toriyama's involvement.
Fans are just gonna have to wait and hope that the people who are running DB think of a plan if they want to expect something new for the franchise.
RIP Toriyama-sensei
Toriyma will forever be the goat and it won't be the same without him.
So true. But we should take comfort that Mr. Toriyama left behind wonderful things for us like the Dragon Ball franchise. ❤
This is like Stan Lee passing the torch down to the new generation.
I would say more like Vince McMahon passing it down Marvel has evolved so much
@@khamla616marvel has regressed
And what has that gave us? Garbage tokenized characters , movie flops, comic flop after flops
Rest in peace to Akira Toriyama ❤❤
We will never forget you Akira. 🙏🏿
He was a legend and he will always be remembered 🙏🙏🙏🙏
We'll miss you Akira toriyama, from all around the world.
They better let toyotaro have the main ideas but if toyotaro didnt exist the hope for dragonball would be gone honestly
@CurlyLowk98 No, it wouldn't. There are still great creators out there.
R.I.P Sensei Toriyama your Work made the whole World happy since 80s.
He's gone but his legacy & work lives on.
Respect to Akira Toriyama.
RIP to the homie Toriyama 😞
Not gonna happen. 😂
@vincentgomez4503 Doesn't mean it will happen here.
The picture at 5:30 just made me smile seeing him older like that for the first time !
Even I had to stop myself from calling Toriyama "lazy" since that man had to not only do manga chapters every week, but do so with amazing art, interesting characters and awesome story arcs.
People call Toriyama a lazy writer, not about his work ethic.
Rip to the guy Akira who made all our childhood fun and geekdom who help us remember everyday ❤
Akira toyiama Best all times writers and authors. Geekdom101 great videos from this year
Two people close to me past away this year. Akira Toriyama and my dad. It's been a very emotional year for me. But they are both in a better place. Toriyama with King Kai telling jokes and my dad catching big fishes with Jesus.
My condolences on your loss
The same happened to me my friend. Christ be with you and your family.
Rip master 😢thanks Geekdom for keeping his gift to the world alive for us.
@ my point was that Dragon Ball is a series that has historically recycled concepts in the past.
There is no future. No one can replicate Toriyama's style of writing and humor.
"There was a time where I slept only twenty minutes over the spawn of six days," said Toriyama. "It was like I gonna die."
Toyotaró will continue the manga and hopefully the anime will continue soon. There is still a lot that is open and definitely needs to be addressed. It’s not over. Dragon Ball Super is not over. 😉👍🔥
I must say I didn't have much hope for Diama going into it. But so far I am enjoying it very much.
@rawdog5506 yeah, i like it. I don't love it 🤷🏾♀️ but it's good enough
It's hard for me to imagine my stories ever being as big as his stories but that doesn't mean I won't keep trying.
Crazy how jamie foxx survived the same thing our GOAT passed away from

Completely disagree. I want them to embrace the series' roots instead of pandering to american fans.
@@anonymous19548 I'm not saying this cuz I'm american or anything, I just want to see what I like. I'm latin american and doubtfully there is another fanbase of Dragon Ball that wants it to succeed and evolve more than us "FACTS". Toriyama himself regretted how buff he made his characters, so no. Toyotarou's art style is better this way.
No, the manga showed that they were still alive on the moon.

Descanse in paz Akira Toriyama R.I.P.
If Oda dies this decade then I'll be convinced the 2020s are a cursed year for manga artist.

Toriyama forsure had to have left a couple of ideas that he wanted to do with dragonball before he passed especially with super
The Joker, Thanos, Lex Luthor all the iconic Villains in comics have 30+ years, 40+ years.
Oh u prefer characters like Majin kuu and gloryhole? Is that the creativity ya'll taking about? 😂
your talking about nostalgia pandering then you praise daima?come on if your dumb just say that🤣🤣🤣
Frieza is the greatest Dragonball villain of all time. Keep crying.
Toriyama was involved in all that stuff you're complaining about. 😂

Probably good because, hopefully, some of the ending is rewritten. He did a lot of the characters dirty.
@j04370859 perhaps if he was still with us he would have rewritten it himself, perhaps not.
To be fair, Akio at one point would've even succeeded in bringing Cooler back but unfortunately it didn't work over at the studios, he would be a powerful pillar to continue the Dragon Ball managements.
Akira is on snake way. Probably about to reach King Kai's planet if he didn't get side tracked at princess snakes palace.
Maybe just maybe now we get an actual story without forgetting a bunch of characters and details. Probably not but might actual make db a good story and not what it was
What happened to manage artist avatars after they die, are just retired out of a sign of respect.

With the Dragon Ball Kanzenban, the series will be garnering new fans. And being fans, I think they will probably want to see some new Dragon Ball Z. How about it, Sensei - why not make a new animated work once a year or so?
Toriyama:
Ah, I’d like to see that.
Nakatsuru:
But in the final chapter, Goku’s getting pretty old. And what happens to him after is already covered in the anime-original Dragon Ball GT. Still, Goku is the main character, after all. If you’re going to make a new story without any difficulty, you’ll have to rewind time a bit, and tell a story from somewhere in the past, or something…
Toriyama:
I agree.
I kinda want them to go past Z purely so we can officially delete GT from continuity.
My condolences on your loss.

it's so sad that everybody talks about DB and Dr slump and Jaco but nobody is talking about Neko Majin Z, this work needs more love!
