I miss Dragon Ball Z Gohan. The build up to him becoming the most powerful hero in the universe was insanely good.
Him going 1 v 1 with Freeza on Namek is so great.

@@boneman9751 quick correction:SSJ2 and SSJ3 definetly don't have their own grades, since both of them are actually grades of the original SSJ, SSJ2 being grade V and SSJ3 being VI, they are probably named 2 and 3 because they look way more different when compared to SSJ Grade 1 than Grades 2-4

I said potentially not definitely and FPSSJ is a different form from hero’s which is basically grade 4 but for ssj3. You can tell because it has the long hair but keeps the eyebrows. That’s also why i bring up there potentially being grades for 2 and 3. According to hero’s there’s a grade 4 for ssj3, therefore, it’s possible it exists for the other 2

For the SSJ Grade 2/3 lightning. I would say their’s was still yellow lightning while SSJ2’s lightning was blue. The clip you showed of SSJ Grade 2 Vegeta shooting his Final Flash for the first time showed yellow while the SSJ2 Gohan’s lightning was blue. Just a small critique though, the video is awesome, fantastic job!

Personally, I think it’s a generational thing. Like how Bardock and that generation of saiyans couldn’t do it, then Goku and Vegetas generation struggled to do it, and Gohans struggled but not like Goku, and then Goten and Trunks easily doing it. The universe 6 saiyans also easily doing it bc they evolved more than Goku and Vegeta. That would also explain why Broly didn’t change till he was an adult and how Paragus never even came close to SSJ.
Fun fact: Gohan Beast's appearance with the white hair and red eyes was supposed to be the original Super Saiyan form.

Fun fan theory about why the younger kids goten and trunks are stronger without getting emotional much quicker and reach Super Saiyan at very young ages:
Some people say that if you're around something Divine then you can take on that Divinity over time just by being near it. Perhaps this is how the ki Aura works for people with Saiyan heritage. For example not only being born of Goku and Vegeta and raised around them and the other saiyens that are older the kids absorb some of their Divine strengthor ki from the older warriors. Remember that at this time the younger boys did not go Super Saiyan until after Goku had died but were also around Gohan who was the strongest saiyen at the time. as well as Vegeta. and goten was able to go super before training with Gohan and the power of Warriors was stronger than call Kame / Piccolo at the time which would definitely buy Earth rules make it divine.
TLDR:
Being around a "God"can make you a little "Godly" overtime and z warriors were strong enough to be considered gods on the planet with their ki levels so high these children raised in this environment may naturally absorb some of the strength as well as their Heritage giving them a major Edge over pretty much every other character at this time and age.

The S-Cells is an interesting idea and it can explain things.
1) A specific quantity of S-Cells is required to transform into a Super Saiyan.
2) S-Cells can be increase from being in a peaceful environment (tranquillity) or training, increase in Ki levels.
3) S-Cells can be passed on through bloodlines.
The reason Goku never went Super Saiyan as a child even when Krillin died is because his S-Cell count was too low. Although he lived a peaceful environment he did not inherit many do the nature of the Saiyan race. However his training during the Freiza saga which increased his power to a level no other Saiyan had achieved increase his S-Cell count to a level in which Rage and the physical effects of Rage triggered the S-Cells.
With Goten and Trunks they had inherited high levels of S-Cells from their fathers and lived in a Peaceful environment and trained together. So their S-Cell level was at a count where they could transform without the physical effects of Rage.
Another thought is that the Saiyan Tail’s growth could be related to S-Cell count, that is why they stopped growing on Vegita and Gohan, and Trunks and Gohen were not born with them.
This could also be why Universe 6 Saiyans do not have them. Their way of life increased their S-Cell count so they stopped growing tails but they never had the triggering event for Super Saiyan.
It’s great to see all of the Super Saiyan transformations explained by Geekdom!

Geekdom i think Goten and Trunks also achieved that full powered Super saiyan form(Grade 4) as well. When i see the great saiyanman saga and buu saga i noticed that there are tons of scenes where Goten and Trunks are in super saiyan mode but still relaxed and the tone of hair is white. It makes sense since they don’t even take the form as serious and don’t seem to have a strain at all.
I really enjoyed and can see a higher production budget really turning this from good to great!

I hope the s-cells thing becomes something that matters in the story, like a science based villain making synthetic or stolen s-cells to make super saiyan level powerups via injection. Or, someone uses the s-cells to make a chemical weapon to kill the saiyans (universe 6 threat maybe)

@freza980 no, that was a unique lifeforms that had all of the abilities and dna of the saiyans and frieza. I mean create an actual literal power up injection to mimic super saiyan, or a chemical weapon specifically to kill saiyans
It's just like everywhere I go these days, there are these f*ing scam comment bots. I used to like to engage in conversation. But these days, I'm actually contemplating suicide sometimes, because these bots get on my nerves SO god damn hard. Pretending to be someone else, claiming that you have won a valued item only to scam you out of your real money.

My head canon for trunks and Goten so easily getting ssj was they just grew up around it, when you are around something so much it becomes normal. Making it much easier to do things people at one time found impossible.
Trunks sure. He was around his father who trained as a SSJ but Goten wasn't. Gohan never trained after his fight with Cell. So Goten wouldn't have been around someone who was SSJ.

i agree Goku did master Super Saiyan 3 after four years as when Goku first used it against Buu it was a relatively new form so makes sense he couldn't use it well
I think Geekdom is on to some true facts on when Goku discovers ssj3 it really could've been as soon he was about go back to earth since he did told buu he didn't really practice ssj3 too much
Great vid! Goku’s sssj1 transformation will always be the pinnacle of transformations in my opinion. In my head cannon though, I think these were all mutations and the Golden Great Ape was the real SSJ 1 and SSJ4 is the Real SSJ2.

Yep, S-cells are Toriyama's equivalent to midichlorians. I hate to say it but Toriyama's writing often takes weird left turns that dont seem to be very well thought out. It makes it difficult for me to take the details of his story seriously sometimes.

You're really trying to be diplomatic here with "Cell could have beaten Trunks anyway". He'd have stomped him. Cell was still using his standby power against Grade 3 Trunks - he did two huge powerups after that. The first to fight Goku during the Cell Games, and the second against SSj2 Gohan. And it was only then that his full power was revealed, power which was at this point leagues higher than Grade 3 Trunks.

I think naturally Goku didn’t have enough S-Cells as a child to become a Super Saiyan. Even though he was peaceful, he probably still didn’t have enough thanks to probably generations of Saiyan ancestors with little to no(?) S-Cells. It would be sort of like a deficiency passed on through genetics.

The reason why Goku didn't beat Buu is because he wanted his sons to do it. He said something along the lines of "The truth is I probably could've destroyed the fat majin Buu with super Saiyan 3. But I wanted Gohan and the boys to have their hand at saving the world."

If that's interesting to you - in our TV's translation we didn't even have the proper race name. They were called Space Warriors. There was Super Space Warrior, Ultra Space Warrior (grade 3), Hyper Space Warrior (SSJ2) and Mega Space Warrior (SSJ3).
The line "The power comes from a need not a desire" was Goku understanding what Gohan needed. Everyone is different. Goku transformed from anger. Vegeta transformed from letting go of his desire but not a need. Gohan didn't like fighting so he needed the power so he could end a fight quickly. Gotten was just frustrated by getting his azz kicked by chi chi. Trunks is debatable cuz we never saw how he did it for the first time.
I believe (in my opinion) that Kid Trunks did it because he wanted to make Vegeta proud and the frustration of not being able to do it angered him until he finally hit that point.
Trunks turned supersaiyan upon the death of Gohan who was his master at the time. There is a movie for it “History of Trunks” I think.
A lot of people hate it but the truth is that goku is the legendary super saiyan, not broly.

Broly is an anomaly, a freak, but he is not the legendary super saiyan, goku is.

Regarding The S Cell.. I feel it makes sense. keep in mind that S Cells can be inherited as well.. in my opinion I feel that it shows at the Saiayn could not achieve the transformation transformation because they were simply not worthy.. after the death of the original Super Saiyan God the Saiyan begun to embrace Wicked Culture.
It seems that's before Goku destroyed the norm.. The Saiyans always seem to put too much stock on inherit potential and not the potential as a result of Training.
Goku is most likely the Saiyan that was born with little to no potential in comparison to even a low-class Saiyan.. especially if he was born with a power of 2 and is official power level in the beginning of Dragon Ball is simply 10... Goku only survived because of being raised by Grandpa Gohan... Nature vs Nuture . But for him to be good or evil if you didn't bump his head it's another subject entirely.
The reason why Goku is so strong is because of of his upbringing and Learning under several teachers.
What helped allowed to Goku to destroy the expectations and Norm is Goku learning under several teachers... look at it look at Radtiz... he's the strongest member of Goku's biological family... despite all of that strength he possess... he is a coward and never bothered to push himself considering that he never Trained his Tail... despite being a middle-class/Elite Saiyan... this shows that Napa at the very least put some effort into training... but it probably wouldn't be fair considering that Nappa was already born to be strong enough to be a Middle class Saiyan.
It seems that Saiyan Society that it's common for The Offspring of Saiyans to Rival or surpass their parents... Raditz was either born a Powerful Low Class and grew strong enough to be a middle-class Saiyan or He he was born with a power level that easily surpasses his father.. but never bothered to train... which is why he has the saiyan tail weakness.
Goku already overcame the weakness of a saiyan tail being grabbed before the events of the 22nd Budokai tournament
Goku at the time who is the weakest Saiyan overcame the tail weakness... through his own experience and training.. Goku's on dedication to self-improvement is the reason why he broke the norm

I think the constant recon of SSJ makes sense. Why would they truly understand it early on if Goku was the first to do it in thousands of years. So then finding a way to simplify the process over time makes sense
Transformations pretty much go beyond tropes at this point, as let's face it. People have used tropes to downplay a character's overall growth or generalize them into shouting matches. We've seen parodies that have a basic understanding of a Super Saiyan, but most of the time it's used as a subject for mockery. Tropes, when weaponized, become harmful and can actually harm the a series' concepts it can latch onto like a parasite and downplay the significance of that event in a story.
And of course, Super Saiyan 3 tends to go even FURTHER BEYOND. CELL SHOULD GET READY FOR SUPER VEGETA'S BIG BANG ATTACK!
I have a headcanon about the super saiyan forms where the levels/grades of ssj are in fact the same thing, all because of how the second/ third ssj forms are presented

It's funny cause I always thought "well both vegeta and Goku were super saiyan status before the conception of Goten and Trunks, so yeah it makes sense it would come more natural to them." Call it dumb, but I get it. Lol
5:05 Would not call it contradiction, things change & you can argue that at the time, they thought Super Saiyan came from a need, but as time passed and they learned more about the form, they realized it could be achieved differently, this happens all the time with many rare achievements in life. Impossible achievements become easy or easier to achieve once enough people learn how to do the once thought to be impossible achievements.

Tbh, Toriyama should have just explained the ability to turn Super Saiyan like it became a genetic trait when Goten was conceived for example. But that's the best way to explain why the Saiyan hybirds in Dragonball Z and later Super would be able to do it effortlessly. Universe 6 saiyans probably always had the trait but how to tap into it other than rage was lost to time. As remember with ancient civilizations or Empires such as the roman empire fall and losing certain technology and or knowledge to history, Universe 6 Saiyans must relearn about Super Saiyan as whatever made them lose the knowledge to history must have been bad.

I had always figured that Bulma & Chichi were impregnated after Goku & Vegeta were already Super Saiyans around the time that Trunks & Goten were born.
Never watched super or read of Toriyama's explanations for how super saiyan works, but I assumed that the most important factor for the activation of super saiyan was linked to emotion. Saiyans are a warrior race that stifled emotion in order to be efficient warriors but that was counter intuitive to turning super saiyan and that was inherited to future generations in the saiyan Prue blood line. The mixture of human who haven't blocked emotion as a genetic trait are able to achieve further power through emotion like Gohan, and with Trunks and Goten that further dilute the pure saiyan blood line plus their knowledge that super saiyan is a thing are able to unlock it far easier because they don't have the inherited emotional blockage.
Super saiyan 2 felt like the true final step in the super saiyen process, and 3 felt like what the 1.5 version was to 2. Super saiyan 3 was clunky, used to much power/stamina, but without the speed debuff, therefore feeling like the next proper step but super saiyan 3 in reality is the kaioken of super saiyan bringing more damage to the body in exchange for power, while Gohan was able to surpass this by unlocking his true potential because he never had to unlearn the emotional blockage that has been keeping the saiyan race from unleashing its full potential.
Just like Vegeta, I don’t ever wanna be caught with a banana in the tail pipe lmao.
Imagine if Gohan had Broly's potential.
Their potential are very similar. You can actually make a argument that Gohan has more potential given that he's younger then Broly and has similar feats.

@@sparking4630 Thats great but like you mentioned, Broly has no training discipline, so right now his potential is greatly hindered. He can't really push himself further without going berserk any losing control of himself.
Gohan was able to make himself the "strongest warrior" with his Beast form, and received a much stronger power-up then what SSJ Broly did in his movie. Mind you, Gohan got this power up while only doing light training/a mid fight rage boost.
I think he already have more potential
Even though it was GT, it looks like they looked at early concept art when doing his child form with the tail (where he seemed better able to sustain SSJ3) :P
I just watched the Gohan ssj2 scene in the Japanese version for the first time.... just wow...I do still prefer the dub scene of this but that was just amazing. It gave me a different feeling from the dub
I remember my brothers and I would fight in the yard to "train," and even would sit on the couch together, stacking up from the floor to the back rest. We would then all scream and really, honestly try to transform, thinking that combining our bodies would combine our energies and all transform together
