Japan is just full of insane bassist.😱
In Japan the bass is an instrument as important and part of the music as any other, not just "the rythm section".
it's based! Jap scene brought me into bass playing!
The Barefoot Assassin is happy
I heard that kids are required to learn at least 1 instrument. Hence, their eagerness to make music in Japan
@@60fpsplanet Coming from Ireland it must be an islander thing, Hawalli has Victor Wooten. Arguably one of the best ever and were would we be without a ukulele.
Irish know a few instruments with our cetlic history written in jigg's and arn't as strict as Japanese yet they too got heritage match our very own bouns also that both got their own thing and do it really well.... together they are not a competition...
Hawali players play for fun... yet they end up with the greats.
Continent players go by text book until the next big thing comes out.... sure you can say that about the islanders.
But we don't need to search for fresh talent as they are easier to spot.
I'd rather quality over quantity
Anything and everything consistently happens.
salience is the canvas.
I feel like Japan is one of the few countries consistently having new rock music release and I love it
not only rock... pop... jazz... funk... metal.... found myself looking for a new music in japanese... very talented island
To me it’s like the British Invasion of the 1960s (which I’m old enough to remember). Just an incredible well of talent, especially from the female bands.
@@c.7610 true!very good analogy
Same
I swear the whole rock didn't die it just moved to Japan joke just gets reinforced every few weeks at this point
It's a neverending rabbit hole.
Die??? It never left. Japan has been rocking since the 50s.
It was also rocked by something else, but we dont like to talk about that very often...
@@matttate9999 Sorry to correct you, but I think you will find that is "neverending pigeon hole" PO!
Ok, that's it, I'm going to go to Japan in a stealth mission to discover the rock girls factory they must have hidden somewhere, who is with me?
Yeaaahhh Meeeee🙌
yo ready to go!
I'm in!
Yeah it's pretty much a conveyor belt of female rock talent at this point....
My theory is that it's located in a secret bunker under the CASA D' ANGELA church in Tokyo. It's used in too many music vids to simply be a coincidence. For example, ruclips.net/video/-wJtD2XEXH4/видео.html
To everyone in English speaking countries.
I think there are many people who like the bassist girl, but since she has her own channel, I would like to introduce her.
The channel name is ❝ かなで - Kanade - ❞ . I'm just a Japanese person, but everyone, please support NEK!.
Thank You!
wow the band is amazing. cool..cool..
Thank you YT algorithm
Japanese women are killin it.
Praise the algorithm
That BASS, though 👌
IKR?!
I know, right? I totally got F chopper Koga vibes from Gacharic Spin.
Seems a lot of Band Maid fans were recommended this. Looks like the algorithm has us all figured out 😅
Scary accurate but I honestly don't mind what shady stuff these google bots are upto as long as I can bump into good stuff like this. A Deal I can't refuse I guess XD
Babymetal fan and i got recommended this
It's like a cross between Band Maid and Scandal. Awesome job ladies.
Check out the shorts. Band-Maid cover 🕊️
It couldn't be more certain
I kind of got that vibe too; SCANDAL's setup with BAND-MAID's style, but I've never heard Tomomi or Misa slap like that.
Searching for Band-Maid when this came up.
Absolutely ecstatic to stumble on something so fire!
To all, the band name is pronounced as NEKi. With the letter "i" turned upside down into "!".
I think majority of us got the pronounciation wrong, myself included at first 😅
Where my J-rock fans at
Girugamesh!
Love when the YT algorithm works and suggests such a great band to me...great song full of energy🤩👏👏👏👍
That bass needs a restraining order. It’s getting slapped hard. 🤘❤️
That's what I call making a damn good first impression! 🔥🤘🏻 You've catapulted yourselves straight onto my radar. 😉
Greetings from Germany

Excellent, much love from The Netherlands!
Damn, bass girl's go to technique slappp
I love japan rock🤘🤘🤘
I love this song and I already love MAZE!
NEK! is a promising young band that I will follow and support as much as I can!🔥🔥🔥
That bass is incredible!!! Every time I go back to the beginning of the second verse. Great song for a debut.
good groove, good riff, although generic, I enjoyed it!
I may not see you touring, but I hope good things awaits you.
Keep Rocking!
You will be very famous if you continue with this level of quality ❤
The bass player needs a raise!
I've re-watched/listened to this half a dozen or more times over the last 3 hours, watching the subscribers go from 1900 to 2100+.
This is great original music, with (I feel) influence from Band-maid. Which is just fine by me.
I subbed about half way through my first listen. This is SUCH a great first song.
Can't believe this is a debut song 😮 That bass ❤
I clicked on this for the Luka Doncic jersey. Stayed for the music. Not disappointed 👀
WOAH!!!!!
Dear friends, feel free to put likes and leave comments - it's the best thanks to these lovely girls.
Such a great, catchy song. Terrific instrumentalists. Charismatic lead singer who seems to be excellent at English. NEK! has a real shot at becoming the next big thing in J-Rock.
Well, at least one influence is obvious and no bad thing for that. Definitely a band to keep an eye on. Great stuff.
is learning a music instrument mandatory for Japanese girls at a young age? man, there's lots of excellent Japanese female musicians! there's none that one will not like!
It is usual to be in a club in Japan's highschools. And a lot of them choose the music club :)
@@raistlin906 oh ok..thanks for the response.
I'm literally learning to play bass guitar just because of how damn cool Japanese bands makes it sound. Can't. Get. Enough.
Just go for it girl..!! 🤘🤘
i found these girls when i saw them perform at a random livehouse and it was crazy good. this MV does not do them justice
Sounds like I’m about to watch an awesome anime.
great song and love the mavericks jersey lol
Japan: good music + cute musicians
What's not to love?
Everyone in this band is super talented. So glad YT recommended this.
Japan has so many all female band that actually legit. I think I've seen a lot of animes that feature high school girls playing music so it seems like Japanese girl or teenager tend to get into music more than any other countries with well-known pop culture.
the overwhelming majority of people who watch and play all female bands'anime and games are men.
i do think that the influence of anime is creating an environment where all female bands can thrive.
i mean it's better than becoming an office worker or idol and girls worldwide generally have more angst to fuel rockin' already
The reason is that from the elementary school, the music class is compulsory (a few times a week). When the kids go to high school, the music is not compulsory but then the students are encouraged to join after school social club activities and many girls join the music clubs (as most boys join the sport clubs) - for real, it's just like the anime you may have seen. So, you have a plethora of females that had music background who then go on to pursue music after high school. Yes, it's due to that Japan has a great number of female modern instrumentalists. Unlike Korea where the music is something that families themselves have to support the kids to have music lessons (they do have high schools that specialize in music though). I don't know if one is better than the other as both countries have world class classical musicians. What is different is that even though Pop genre is big in both countries, it dominates Korean music scene whereas in Japan, you can make a living as a rock band. You could not do that in Korea.
@@fastskipper777the Japanese way does seem better, imo. There is a massive caveat, though… the education system must be good and have the proper resources for music education! Not many countries are on Japan’s level and Nek! is just the latest example in a long and brilliant line!
Also, check out Rolling Quartz from Korea.
Congratulations on 50,000 views. Very pleased that the dynamics continue to grow. I think the debut succeeded. I am very happy for you.🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
For a long time I thought about what to write, but I was unable to form any thought that was not voiced before me. It’s a great debut, and this song is firmly embedded in my playlist. So, just wish you success, stick to the chosen course, and you will definitely succeed.👍👍👍
They deserve more view :(((
I don't know if anyone in the bad will see this comment or care what someone on the other side of the world thinks but I want to wish these ladies the best of luck. I hope you get everything out of your experience you want.
Slap that bass! 🤘🎶
I came here by chance, RUclips suggestions, great song, I love it, on another matter, there's an Italian singer called Nek, I hope you don't have issues with the name of your band...
The band name is actually pronounced as Neki, with the letter "i" turned upside down.
I'm here thanks to @wavepotter. New fan from Italy :D
Smartest thing they ever did was upload a short that is a cover of "Choose Me".
Brought me to this channel, and now many others too it seems.
Hika is the cutest, coco the fiercest, kanade the most powerful, natsu is the most pretty and technical
I can feel these girls got a wide musical knowledge. Looking forward for the next releases.
Wow! Amazing! It's already in my playlist.
Man, this debut really raises hopes and expectation of this band. Here's to hoping they keep it up!
she kinda sounds like Hoshimachi Suisei at some parts.
Awesome voice, high speed drumming, powerful slap bass, beautiful guitar playing with nice FX. Gotta love this band. Wonderful debut.
That was top tier. They tore it up!
Fantastic bass line ! The Japanese girl rock !
I love that drummer's mindset.
Ok, our first MV lets make a great first impression: Throws on a basketball jersey and jams out.
Not JUST a basketball jersey. That is the jersey of Dallas Mavericks Luka Doncic. Young star player
Being a fan of Gacharic Spin, I instantly took a liking to this song/band.
So many good quality acts are coming out of Japan. This song has been in my head for the last 3 days and I can't stop hearing it!! Nice job Nek!
Nice job for a debut. I’m a guitarist, but recognize that the drummer and bassist are currently the strength of the band. The guitarist is skilled, but I didn’t feel like the solo fit the rhythm behind it. It was like someone playing at the upper reaches of their skill, teetering on losing control, and definitely lost the pulse of the song. The singer has a lot going for her, but particularly when switching to English seems to be a bit flat of the pitch she’s going for.
Please take this as constructive criticism. Overall this is solid, and while there is plenty of room for growth, you girls are farther along than my first band in the late 1980s was when we wrote our first original :). I wish you all the best.
This song just keeps getting better the more I listen
first time listening to NEK! I dig it ! sweet bass , drums & guitars
I'm so glad i came across them this year, definitely one of my favourite new bands!!
Tokai
Very nice song. Keep working hard and carve your path towards your future with brain and taking good decisions. There is a future in music for you!
Holy shit that was amazing especially the bassist player.
Damn really slapping that bass
Love that killer bass
..like the tone too 🤟 goodluck ladies
Vivid outfits, uplifting rhythm, and charismatic smiles all over the place. What else can I ask for? The algorithm does it once again! 🎉 This band really rocks my inner eardrums with a mesmerizing symphony! I'm looking forward to your newest songs. Ahh! (The excitement is real.) I'm proud to be one of the earliest subscribers. It actually feels great to be here where it all started. This is another one of my favorite newly found Japanese rock bands, I've officially added NEK! to the gems list. The future is bright; keep going, girls!
Awesome song and great video!
Keep up the great work!
FIRE 🔥🤘🔥Love it !
This song really sounds like a cool opening for the top anime. Congratulations on 4,000 followers. I hope that soon you will again delight us with excellent music.
The song is great and the bassist is so good damn.. how japan is producing so many great female bassist is insane to me and I'm all for it.
Coomers thats how, huge part of their fanbase is just men. Imma subscribe tho...
@@Plackomiot Yeah, the live shows are pretty creepy, actually.
@Plackomiot eh that comment is kind of in poor taste. I've been following music festivals like NAON YAON for over a decade that feature all female jrock bands. They've been empowering women in music for decades. There's nothing wrong with being a male and enjoying great female musicians.
@@dethan17 "There's nothing wrong with being a male and enjoying"
That depends who you ask.
Japan or nipon realy MUCH band woman like this.. LOve it
in my country just only one band like THis.. VOB
I'm not a fan of these type of rock songs but it won't kill me if i try listening to it
first live concert will be at Shelter in Shimokitazawa
that's the venue that inspired the starry in Bocchi The Rock
A great first song from NEK! Looking forward to EXCLAMT!ON!
I've discovered this yesterday though a video of someone comparing BAND-MAID to this band and I've been playing this song for 10th time already.
Yep. I think this song is their “Thrill.” Just irresistible.
Awesome song. Bass player is having the time of her life!
Lead singer is stunning
RUclips recommendations strike again. Love this
Fantastic song. I wish you all the best for your band
Listening from México
This was wonderful!
Absolutely knocked my socks off! What a debut! All four of them played amazingly, but the bass really stood out to me. Kanade did an excellent job!
Absolutely amazing, a total banger!
Is it a coincidence my playlist consists mostly of japanese Music?
Randomly discovered this band. But where ever they are about to go IM STRAPPED IN FOR IT
Here before this band blows up (hopefully)
Luka will be proud 👏
