Very well done and I hadn't seen the Anemone acoustic cover yet, she's really talented! Now that I think about it ... last week, I've seen a band live, and Kanade could have been there too: as you can guess, I've seen Lovebites live in Belgium (amazing!) and most of you already know Kanade was a serious contender for the bassist position! But the band thought that at 15 she was too young (they were right) and chose Fami ... Kanade's role model!
Awesome job as always Ohrenje-san! This band does indeed have promise! And they have a great role model. It is so awesome that bands are covering Band Maid songs. it is a compliment of the highest order.

It would be great if the Maids took them under their wings and show the pitfalls and the ropes of how to be a successful band.
Ohrenje san, thank you for this. Thank you for introducing us to a new band and I’m very glad that our favorite Band-Maid have imparted quite a good impression and greatly inspired these young ladies.
yes, on my radar since I first heard them and everything I have heard since keeping them there. when I first heard the teaser for their EP, ripping bass, love the vocals, I became even more excited and cannot wait for their EP to drop! awesome new band. very interested to see where they go from here!
Wow that was a cool new band, I'm impressed with their playing. Cool that they covered Band-Maid songs. They did Choose me, which is BTW closing in on 14M, go play it now 🙂
NEK! blew me me away on first listen I had to start digging. They are a perfect mix of Band-Maid, Lovebites & Gacharic Spin and then you find out that's exactly what they are. Bassist Kanada was one of the front runners for Lovebites while just starting highschool & plays with Koga's relentless slapping style. Definitely a band to keep an eye on.
I love female rock and metal from Asia, mainly from Korea and Japan. I hope that these excellent bands manage to position themselves throughout the world. Greetings from Ecuador. 🇪🇨
What struck me was just how thin the singer's voice was on Choose Me compared to Saiki. I'm saying Saiki really does have a robust and somewhat darker voice. I wish Neki all the success in the world!
Neki is more like the little sisters of BAND-MAID, how cute. It feels great to discover a new band and liking it immediately. The YT algorithm doesn't hate me this time.
Love Nek!, but especially Kanade's restless legs dance when she plays bass🤩... definitely looks like they're all having a lot of fun. Everything is right here again, vocals, guitar, bass and drums and a really fat sound. And the live shorts give hope for a lot more fun. Thanks Ohrenje👍
bro, it me FR tho, the band is impressive. I found them on Twitter much before they posted the song. Everything about this song feels like it was custom tailored to my interesting taste in music: Unpredictable, catchy, a bit funky, kind of poppy but definitely rock, bass domination, a guitar solo that will make your face melt off, and vocals that will melt your heart equally as much. Great video, very well said!
They Romanized it with an exclamation point in place of the letter i, but Neki is the proper pronunciation. Keep in mind that Japanese doesn't normally have constant sounds in the same sense that English has. Japanese normally uses vowel sounds and "constant+vowel" sounds (although you will find an almost silent "u" used in some cases). "Nek" wouldn't really work but "Neki" does. The "n" sound in katakana (ン) is an exception that shows up in Band-Maid's name in katakana (バンドメイド), but that's still pronounced roughly as "Bando-Maido." That's my understanding of the language, but I don't consider myself an expert by any means.
A very exciting addition to the treasure chest of Japanese female Metal and Rock. Hika clearly loves Miku and could pass for a younger sister! They all seem skilled enough to make it but it may all come down to the songwriting, as it does for Band-Maid through Kanami's superb compositions, which are the foundations for all their output since the release of ALONE. As you say, a band to watch and follow. They're still finding their feet but I'm pretty sure they'll be running soon!
Hika-chan totally sounds like Miku-chan! Listening to Anemone, I can close my eyes and listen as if Kobato was singing the song. :) And... they need a full version of Maze released! I want to hear/watch an MV and a LIVE!
Yeah, they're good. Musically it's very interesting and rather close to their models. However, in terms of singing, we cannot make the comparison with Saiki's voice and especially the harmony with Miku. It is obvious that these young musicians have talent and that they have a bright future ahead of them. So, we must keep on eye on them. Thanks Ohrenje.
In MAZE, you'll hear some great harmonies between Hika and Kanade but yes, it's very different from BAND-MAID vocally. Thankfully they are different, no point of being a copy anyway and they already have their own style 😊
@@Ohrenje I have no doubt that they have other songs that show things different from Band-Maid. And that’s good for them. I'm going to listen to more of this band.

I definitely hear some GS in "Get Over," mostly in the bass line. The overall bouncy feel is reminiscent of GS, too. But, also considering the teaser clips from Nek!'s other songs, the guitar playing/tone, melodic approach, and overall sound feel a llittle closer to the Maids, without sounding like an obvious clone. I'm just pointing that similarity between BAND-MAID and NEK! but they are not the only bands to do that obviously 😊
I think they should Link into Houseman or Housekeeping Band too. If NOT, they should contact Janitor Band.
These two bands have roots on American rock.
