You can tell me the names of several other female guitarists technically superior to Kanami but none will touch my soul and bring tears to my eyes except Mincho. She is above all a talented composer with a hint of modesty who rose to the rank of the greatest simply guided by the love of music. If Band-Maid has climbed the steps of success and reached its current level, it owes a lot to Mincho. Thank you little genius. Well done Ohrenje.

As a rock fan, I'm just so glad the Kanami exists. Her talent, her drive, her personality[s](Mincho). Love her as a songwriter/composer, guitarist and that she LOVES to play. All of it but really, it's that love of playing that makes her a Rock Goddess.
She's the sunshine. The sweetest young lady who happens to be one of the most insane creatives in Rock. Mincho deserves the whole world, such a pure soul🤘🌞

@@grayjack5021 A scene that also gets deep under my skin... But as frightening as this moment was, and I wish for Kanami and each of these ladies that they NEVER have to experience something like this again, I am glad that they decided to show it. Because at the end of the day, as much as we love and praise these ladies to the skies, they are ordinary people, with feelings and limits, just like any of us. People who go beyond their limits for what we love them for, but also for what they love themselves.

Wonderful doc thank you so much. Kanami is truly a unicorn, and stands out even among her musical peers. One thing not mentioned so much is her pretty extreme personal ambition and work ethic. Often times a highly creative personality like Kanami's lacks the iron discipline to get things done. Kanami gets it done. Reading between the lines of their interviews over the years, it seems to me that one of the primary reasons for this band's remarkable growth is because the members are trying to keep up with the unassuming, super-ambitious Mincho (who actually, iirc, sets out musical goals for herself and the members individually to reach).
Something that could have been added to the doc that kind of illustrates Kanami's role in the band is her instrumental composition "Don't Be Long" - which can perhaps be subtitled "Etude for Miku." Apparently, Kanami wrote this song mainly as a guitar teaching tool for her student and band mate Miku (it's remarkable that Kanami essentially taught Miku how to play guitar). This is some crazy dedication to your band mates that goes way beyond songwriting and playing lead.
No other Guitarist/Musician has moved me to tears of pure Joy as quickly and easily as this Beautiful Lil Lady!! She is the Lovely Rock Princess of the Greatest Group on the planet!!! ❤🤘❤ Long Live Kanami and Band-Maid!

Kanamincho!!! She has so much talent. And she is so very, very sweet, and calm. And when she starts playing guitar, and lets loose the wild rocker girl, Oh My Goodness!!! Absolutely magnificent!!! The expression on her face when she has her head back, eyes closed, playing her guitar - Pure Joy.

Kanami is such a Phenomenal Guitarist. She has brought me to tears in so many ways bcuz of her Excellent Superb Guitar Magical Guitar Geniusristry. I could listen to kanami play for hours.
She is One of the two Greatest Guitarist Ever.
The other being David Gilmore of Pink Floyd. JMO.

It is so SO hard to have developed that level of work ethic and meticulousness, and still be that sweet and generous to her peers. That is what I love and respect the most about Kanami.
From knowing many successful, hyper disciplined people and from my own experience trying to develop that mindset, I can only imagine how much she must have gone through to be the person she is today.
It takes a lot of heart to be strict with yourself and still remain non-critical and super supportive of others.
As much as she is blessed to have had Band Maid in making her who she is today, Band Maid is undoubtedly way more privileged to have had Kanami with them this whole time.
Honestly, I'm genuinely envious of them.

Excellent video... Kanami is my favorite member...largely because, like me when I was in a band in the SF Bay Area...she brings the goods while remaining a total dork. And I say that in the most positive way. She has learned the styles of Santana and Larry Carlton and went them one better.

That version of "Daydreaming" is so tearjerker. There are so many great guitarist in the music scene but only few can moved and touch the human soul, Kamami is one of them.
Beautifully done, thank you so much for making this. When the clip from "Alone" started I had tears in my eyes. That was the second Band-maid video I saw and it made me a fan for life.

As a guitarist, Kanami is my favourite. I love all 5 and how they are all unique. They all play their parts, but in their own individual style. Band-Maid are so integrated with each other that if any member were to leave - No more Band-Maid. ALL FIVE (5) ladies have so much to/and do contribute to the Band-Maid sound and style

I discovered Band-Maid sideways: I saw a clip of a stupid TV show where Kanami & the guitarist of Ningen Isu had a silly competition. But seeing her improvise was enough to blow my mind & look up her music with her own band. She is one of the few guitar players I can recognise just by hearing any random riff (like Carlos Santana, Jimmy Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler or Jimmy Page).

Mincho didn’t start learning guitar until a senior in HS…Wow!?
In that period of time she has become a brilliant guitarist…imagine if she had started guitar in Elementary school.
Her guitar style definitely has a piano influence as she seems to also be supporting the medley and lyrics with that lead sound.
I don’t see a lot of that with other lead guitarist.
I do miss when she would breakout into 10 minutes sole where she goes full Mincho mode…like Sonic Fest and where she axe kicked Akane cymbal!

Wow!---another beautiful production of Ohrenje and Kasper ! Thanks to them both for bringing Mincho's story even more energetically into focus for us.
Must repeat my view that both Kanami and Miku are sooo evocative of the spirit of Izumo no Okuni----the wonderful originator of Kabuki theatre ..
She set up her little stage on the dry riverbed in i7th century Kyoto...and proceeded to charm the street warfare into tranquility, with no other weapons than her original music and dance and drama. There is an exquisite little samurai-style evocation of her in Kyoto --a small statue right at the river and opposite the present kabuki theatre.
..............Kanami and Miku seem like present-day versions of the marvelous Okuni !!!---shrine-maidens who set out to conquer not just Japan but the whole world.
---can't help feeling that the talented Okuni is smiling down on them !
(And though kabuki was stolen from the women and restyled for males by some oaf years later---it remains the artistic treasure of the women of Japan. )

For the internal dynamic of the group, Band Maid recalls hugely another epic rock band of the music history : Led Zeppelin. Kanami seems to be for Band Maid what Jimmy Page has been for Led Zeppelin, a complete genius capable to architect everything from beginning to end letting explode the maximum level of expression of her absurdly talented mates. The coincidence is enormous and makes reflect a lot!
