@@shiraz1736 this one is unlimited.. hence the DRS and other bits!
@@WacKEDmaN Pretty sure the track administration have a limit on top speed for safety reasons, I may be wrong but I’ve heard that vehicle is quite capable of doing close to 320-330kms down Conrod.
@AJpro88 the aero is off all the way down Conrod Straight and doesn't come on again until the car has rounded the bend and is in The Chase. Check the DRS (Drag Reduction System) light in the telemetry.

If Gounon were to drive this really fast and "the man" who had moved to team WRT was still in Mercedes , and if he were to drive this thing on nordschleife, spa or even circuits with less dependant on straight line, I think he would have an unbeatable and absolute record. It's literally like a trail of an Hamilton on W10 and W11

Damn, the realism is getting closer to the sim all the time. Seriously, very smooth and carrying some incredible speeds through the slowest corners - 91 at The Cutting, 89 at Forest Elbow. Great to watch!
Loved the lap and its helped me a lot with Bathurst laps while racing in sim world.

GT7/GTS nailed this track…watching this onboard makes it seem like I’ve been here before. That’s how well the physics are on that game

The car sounds reminds me a lot to the SLS AMG GT3.
They still use the same engine on the new AMG GT3 as the SLS. 6.2L goodness

No matter how quick he is just remember how difficult it is To drive a touring car especially 2 years ago and all the way back .
They are the hardest to drive and Chaz got a lap time not far of this 😆
And then just a week later, the all electric Ford E-Transit van (SuperVan 4.2 Electric) beat this lap time by 3/10ths.

What was the lap time compared to the Pikes peak spec EV van?
The van didn't get a lap in during the 12hr weekend but the 500 weekend it beat the mercs time with a 1:56:28

M159 engine, 6.2l, m156 younger brother
Flat plane crank, dry sump, different intake but basically the same engine created by AMG almost 20 years ago
Front end looks way more agile than last year which is good. Means they can attack the corners more aggressively without inducing so much understeer.
It's an unlimited GT3, it bares very little resemblance to an actual GT3 besides the basics. It has class 2 DTM aero, LMP brakes, wider floor, deeper skirts, no engine restrictions. Thing is a beast. It's closer to a modern Super GT car than a current GT3.

Didn't think these things would put 3.3gs under braking for the Chase....no wonder they're not too far off prototype pace in these things.

It’s not a purpose built race track it’s actually a public road.
Given that it opened in 1938, probably not. But it's better for it though.
And I think I m fast in Gran Turismo 7... I did 2.01.334 and then I watch this video... I mean yeah he has DRS and maybe this Mercedes might be a bit faster than the one I Ve got in game (maybe) but still... 5 seconds per lap slower 😕
